Robbie Williams will always remain an ‘Oasis’ fan Posted on 24 August 2006 (EST)

He may be everything British rock band ‘Oasis’ detests, but despite their dislike for him, pop singer Robbie Williams has said that he remains an ‘Oasis’ fan.

Washington, Aug 24: He may be everything British rock band ‘Oasis’ detests, but despite their dislike for him, pop singer Robbie Williams has said that he remains an ‘Oasis’ fan.

The ‘Feel’ singer further said that though he had a short-lived friendship with the band, fronted by brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, in the mid-90s, they remain very important in his life.

"I'm not their kind of person. I'm the old-time musical, I'm the end of the pier, I'm Norman Wisdom, I'm big show tunes. I'm everything they detestâ€, Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.

"I'm a huge fan of Oasis - of what they were anyway - and what they meant to me. They were very important in my life", he added.

At first all the stuff that has already been written, but the last bit is probably the most interesting one, because - unlike the Mirror-

they apparently have a comment from Robbie's people.

Robbie 'set for song legal battle'

(Thursday August 24, 2006 11:10 AM)

Robbie Williams is reportedly facing a legal fight with Rod Stewart's stepson Ashley Hamilton over a song on his new album, Rudebox.

Ashley claims the popstar has nicked the tune She's Madonna, which the duo came up with when they worked together in LA, reports the Daily Mirror.

He says Robbie then took the half-finished track to the hit band The Pet Shop Boys to complete. The 31-year-old songwriter, whose mum Alana was Rod's first wife, has apparently hired lawyers Dean & Dean to dispute the case.

"We came up with this idea over coffee one afternoon. Robbie said he had an idea for a song about some girl he used to date, Tania Strecker, and how she was dumped by Guy Richie for Madonna," Ashley is quoted by the paper as saying.

"That was a smiley thing to do, so I said, 'Why don't we make a joke song about it?'

"That's how it started. We worked on the lyrics together at home and at the studio.

"The next thing I know, a producer's ringing me up to say congratulations for getting my song onto Robbie's record. I just said 'I don't know what you are talking about'."

Williams, 32, says he wrote the song after seeing Madonna at the MTV Europe awards last year.

"She's Madonna is a collaboration between Robbie and the Pet Shop Boys," a spokesman said.

"We have not had correspondence from Dean & Dean."

<_<

Just shows you how Robbie's "D**khead antenna" wasn't working. I think he made that comment from about this time when he first moved to LA and realised after a while just how fake some people are, I wonder if it included Ashley Hamilton.

Robbie tempted by Take That

Friday August 25, 2006

Robbie Williams says he might have gone back on stage with Take That had it not been for his new album and own live dates.

The singer said he "loved" his old band and had discussed taking part in the recent reunion tour.

He told the Sun: "I met up with them all and it was really lovely but I just didn't want to do it. The fans would have loved it and, to be honest with you, had I not had a tour and an album coming out I'd have maybe done the whole tour."

Louis heals Robbie rift

By EMMA COX

Deputy TV Editor

THE X Factor is back – and this year’s series promises to be bigger, better and BITCHIER than ever.

Eight million fans tuned in on Saturday to see hopefuls starting their quest to win a £1million record deal.

Now, in an exclusive two-part series, we talk to two of the hit show’s infamously sharp-tongued judges – Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.

Today, band manager Louis gives his frank opinion of his TV co-stars – and tries to heal the rift he started with Robbie Williams.

LOUIS WALSH today makes his peace with Robbie Williams – after the singer claimed in an exclusive Sun interview that Louis wants to SLEEP with him.

The pair have been at war ever since Louis claimed that Robbie’s voice “isn’t all that.â€

The former Take That star hit back in style this week by declaring that Louis wants to be his manager — and lover.

Louis, 54, refuses to get into a new slanging match and insists he thinks Robbie HAS got true X Factor — but he stands by his comments about Rob’s voice.

The Irishman said: “I wish the contestants on the show had Robbie’s drive and intelligence.

“He’s not the best singer in the world but he has everything else. He’s a great entertainer.â€

Louis also praised Robbie’s new single Rudebox — a hip-hop track dubbed “the worst record in history†by Bizarre’s Victoria Newton — which is out next month.

He admitted: “At least he’s not being safe — I have to give him a pat on the back for that.

“It would be easy for him to have another single like She’s The One or Angels, but that would be predictable and boring.â€

ROBBIE'S GRAFFITI LYRIC PUZZLES NORMAL FANS

He may lead a Hollywood lifestyle, but the title of a track from his new album shows Robbie Williams hasn't lost touch with his Potteries roots. The problem is, not even people from his home town know what the Burslem-born singer's latest effort is referring to.

Robbie's eighth album Rudebox - due for release in October - features the track Burslem Normals, described by the star's own website as "an incredible, strung out and personal electronic ballad."

The former pupil at St Margaret Ward High, Tunstall, revealed on his website how he saw the phrase Burslem Normals scrawled on a wall in the town during his youth.

He said: "The song is about an ideal of youth.

"It is about how in the 80s and the early 90s there were so many avenues to explore and so many gangs to be a part of.

"Back then we had so much choice and the Burslem Normals was a piece of graffiti from the town I was born in. I don't know what they were into, but they sound cool."

The identity of the group is now shrouded in mystery, with a variety of authorities in Burslem unable to shed any light on who they were.

One theory is that they were a less well-known Port Vale hooligan firm in the mould of the notorious Smallthorne Clampetts and Vale Lunatic Fringe.

But former Clampetts leader Jim Ford - who is now a pastor at the Penkhull Christian Fellowship - says he doesn't remember any group by that name.

He said: "I knew a number of people that were lads around that era but I don't think they had a name. They were from Burslem though, and some still get down there."

Club historian Jeff Kent and statistician Phil Sherwin are similarly unaware of the Burslem Normals.

Phil Sherwin said: "There is nothing definite but it sounds like a gang of people who used to go down the Vale.

"I have heard the phrase but there is nothing concrete.

"If it was when Robbie Williams was growing up it would have been in the 80s when things were a bit rougher."

Jeff Kent said: "I have been a Port Vale fan all my life and I have never heard of the Burslem Normals."

Robbie's new album is set to hit the shelves on October 23, and is set to mark a radical musical departure for the singer.

It features several songs - including title track and new single Rudebox - produced by Stoke-on-Trent's own Danny Spencer and Kelvin Andrews, also known as Soul Mekanik.

And the 32-year-old said the lyrics to the new single were heavily influenced by the city where he grew up.

He said: "Danny and Kelvin sent me the very basic drum track and it just became a floor shaker with lyrics straight out of Stoke-on-Trent."

He added: "I've always been scared to try out different things and this album I think I've lost the fear of where I should be in my head as a populist."

If you go here

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2006180...6390349,00.html

You can listen to Bizarre's Podcast. There is a bit quite near the end ( a few minutes worth) where She talks some more about her Robbie interview.

It's after Lemar prattles on about his new album and some group i've never heard of talk about something else I wasn't really paying attention to. ^_^

She sounds quite nice

She never mentioned Rob has a go at her about slagging off Rudebox in the article though -_-

Tee-mendous show at Manor

icWales

SUPERSTAR Robbie Williams got into the swing last night at a star-studded golf dinner in Wales.

Taking time out between tour dates in the UK, the singer landed at the Celtic Manor Resort by helicopter to meet up with pals Ant and Dec, who are hosting this weekend's All*Star Cup.

A celebrity version of the Ryder Cup, Europe is represented by veteran entertainer Bruce Forsyth, ex-EastEnder Ross Kemp, former Boyzone singer Ronan Keating and DJ Chris Evans while America's team features actress Jane Seymour, man mountain Meat Loaf, Hollywood actor William Baldwin, rocker Alice Cooper and Dallas' Patrick Duffy.

The showbiz dinner signalled the starting gun for the two-day tournament, although the stars warmed up yesterday with a practice round at the Newport course.

Laughing off rumours he is planning to get back with ex-wife Billie Piper, ginger Radio 2 DJ Evans said his side were ready to repeat Europe's win last year, which saw Catherine Zeta Jones up against hubby Michael Douglas.

"It's very important we win, because the winners have the best parties," said Chris.

"I know the Americans have brought a stronger team this year because they really want to win. I'm looking forward to spanking their a**es!"

And to make sure he has the best chance, Chris whisked his cousin Max Evans in from Portugal to be his caddy.

Meanwhile, quiz show king Brucie had the press pack in stitches yesterday when he revealed he was looking forward to a "Good game, good game!".

The Strictly Come Dancing host also poked fun at pint-sized tournament commentator Ronnie Corbett, saying he would like to put him in his golf bag. He also prayed Corbett was not planning to take too long with his commentary.

And the oldest swinger in town proved that youth counted for little as he won the nearest-the-pin competition.

Bruce, the most senior competitor in the tournament at 78, pipped the whippersnappers on the European and American teams to land his ball within nine feet of the hole. He picked up a £10,000 diamond but will donate the gem to charity.

Despite practising, Ultimate Force actor Ross Kemp admitted he was fearing a case of the golfer's yips.

"I'm nervous. I'm no great golfer but I'm here to enjoy myself," he said. But Chris consoled him, saying: "Nerves can be good if you don't know what is going to happen. It's good to be nervous."

American team player Patrick Duffy revealed his tactics with tongue-firmly-in cheek, saying: "I intend to put the little round ball in the little round hole."

Coverage of the All*Star Cup today and tomorrow is on ITV1 & ITV2, starting at 3pm.

LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU ....AS ELVIS

ROBBIE WILLIAMS looks all shook up as he poses as the King of Rock 'n' Roll.

The singer was more than happy to pay homage to Elvis for a photo shoot in 1997 before his solo career took off. The image is one of a collection included in a book by German photographer Fryderyk Gaobowiz. "With my camera I recorded Robbie pensively plucking out this beautiful song" he said.

"It really is a shame that it cannot be heard in the photographs".

I've been watching the golf all day. No sign of Robbie. <_< Maybe he's in disguise.

Me too Jupiter. I just saw a profile of someone in the bar that looked a bit like him, but I think it may have been wishful thinking.

How cute does Ant look in his little tcardi?

Same here really, though I've always followed it a little as my Dad is a massive golf fan. The course is near my parents home and my cousin works at the hotel, so I feel a bit of a special link to it.

Old Brucie is a legend :D
