Good news for us lonely US fans!!!!

Neil Sean's Scoop 28/8

Robbie Williams' new single Rude Box - a distinct move away from the usual pop anthems such as Rock DJ and Love Supreme - divided the nation, but it's impressed music industry bosses so much they are secretly planning on releasing the track directly into clubs in the US.

It appears New York clubbers are already hooked on the tune after listening to it via the Internet, but don't realise it's Robbie because the name on the track is simply Robert.

Sneaky.

Robbie Williams addicted to more than cigs

written September 1, 2006

Robbie Williams has a new addiction - computer games. The 'Angles' singer has struggled with drug and drink addictions in the past, but has confessed his latest vice is spending hours playing on games consoles, after getting hooked on a golf simulation.

He said: "'Tiger Woods 2006' on the Sony PlayStation is my latest fad.

"I've tried to make the game character look like me. It's an art in itself -but I can't quite seem to get it right. It's a good way to squander a few hours, though."

Robbie also revealed that he might have to kick his addiction to tattoos, because he can no longer take the pain.

During an interview on London's Capital Radio station, he told British DJ Johnny Vaughn: "I have 18. They problem is they get more painful as you get older."

Earlier this week, Robbie - who is about to release new single 'Rudebox' -hinted he may quit the music business, because he no longer wants to be part of the "pop machine."

He said: "I've got to take the view over the next 18 months and see if I want to be part of the machine any more, because I don't see me singing again."

Robbie concert tickets 'stolen'

Source: bbc.co.uk

Robbie Williams will perform at Hampden Park this weekend

More than 500 tickets for Robbie Williams concerts due to be sent to fans have been stolen after going missing in the post.

Police fear they may have been sold on by touts and warned that anyone using them at this weekend's Hampden Park shows in Glasgow would be turned away.

Promoters DF Concerts said 560 tickets destined for buyers in the Falkirk and Dunfermline areas had gone missing.

Williams will perform to more than 110,000 fans at the stadium.

The passes have now been cancelled and anyone attempting to use them to gain entry to either of the Friday or Saturday concerts face questioning from Strathclyde Police.

Police inquiry

Ch Supt Robin Howe, in charge of policing the concerts, said: "A quantity of tickets are believed to have been stolen and it is likely that they have now been sold on to unsuspecting fans who will be hugely disappointed as these tickets have been withdrawn by the promoters and are no longer valid."

He added: "There will be a special police operation at the turnstiles and anyone in possession of them will be subject to a police inquiry as to how they obtained them."

It is thought about 380 tickets for the Friday and 180 for the Saturday events were stolen.

They were all passes for seated areas.

A DF Concerts spokeswoman said: "These concerts are sold out and any music fans who have taken a risk here will be disappointed."

PS Sorry if this is duplicated with some other posts here. Mods please merge or move as desired.

So do I Twinkle, it's really going to awful for them, Its such a shame for both the true fans and of course for the artist, who sees empty seats at a sold out gig. :(

ROBBIE WILL BE BACK - LATER

POP heart-throb Robbie Williams has good news and bad news for his Irish fans today.

THE GOOD NEWS: Robbie tells the Sunday World that he intends to honour his promise to perform a FREE concert in Ireland, after admitting his June show was not his best.

THE BAD NEWS: Robbie confesses that, contrary to his pledge at the end of his Croke Park concert in June, he won't be back this year and no date for the future gig has been finalised.

Although he delighted screaming fans with a strong of his hits inluding Angels, Let me entertain you and Radio, Robbie admits he was'nt happy with his Croker show, during which a stunt went wrong in front of 80,000 fans.

Chatting this week in London where he gave the Sunday World a sneak preview of his new album, Rudebox , due out on October 20, Robbie (32) says "I promised the Irish a free gig and I will do that. It won't happen this year like i promised."

Mimicking his Croker promise he proclaims lously: "And I'll be back this year!' I did say that, did'nt I. I'm prone to very big, grand gestures. But I will go back and do a free gig. I feel as though I owe it to Ireland because the fans there have been so supportive."

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Oh thanks Scotty, I really hope he does return to Dublin and that the same conditions apply. I am not doing anything much next year.

As for Basement Jax, I am really ticked off with them to be honest, they have been very offensive about Robbie in the Sun yesterday, and now his audience. I really really hope I am not too close to them at any of the MK gigs. Quite frankly, Robbie can overlook it if he wants too, but I don't have too. I think they have a bloody cheek, they don't have to support him because I wouldn't miss them if they stuck to their opinions and b***ered off. A few boos will be going their way.

Robbie Williams may be sizing up his next move, but whatever he decides, he’s here to stay

YOU HAVE TO HAND IT TO ROBBIE

No artist from the UK can match the consistent level of success which Robbie Williams has achieved over the past decade.

He is, in pure commercial terms, the closest thing the music industry has to a banker. If he weren’t so cheeky, he would be considered a national treasure.

I’ll lay my cards on the table – I think Williams’ new single Rudebox is fabulous, drawn from an album with some superb moments.

And, while we’re confessing: for me, Williams is one of the top lyricists of our age. He is a great lyricist in the way that Eminem, Ray Davies and Morrissey are all great lyricists – his words are instantly recognisable and, in many cases, could emerge from the pen of no other individual.

Williams is not what most people would consider to be a particularly deep thinker. But he is a highly complex and fascinating individual – anyone who has read Chris Heath’s superb Feel biography would attest to that. This is what gives his lyrics their edge.

He is certainly not without opinions either. In Williams’ interview with Music Week this week, Williams reflects on how he is perceived, his willingness to reject the musical rule book, his attitude towards recording, touring, YouTube and where he will go with the rest of his career.

There will be some tabloids who might swoop on his words, “I don’t see me signing again†and conclude that Robbie Williams is on the brink of doing a Garbo.

But this could be concluded only from the most literal of interpretations. In making such a comment, Williams appears simply to be musing, “Where next?â€

As an artist, Robbie Williams has achieved all he is likely to achieve, fame affording him more money and greater luxuries than us mere mortals could possibly imagine. Who wouldn’t be considering their future? Who wouldn’t be wondering what tomorrow holds?

For what it’s worth, I think Williams will be around for a long time yet. A break is not out of the question, especially given the relentless pace he has set in his career to date: 13 albums in 15 years (including the Take That era) is an immense schedule for anyone to maintain.

But showbiz is in the blood of this son of a cabaret artist. It is hard to imagine Robbie Williams out of the spotlight. Thankfully.

Thats a great write-up Scotty....thank you. Where is it from ?

My mouth is still hanging open at the hide of Basement Jaxx :o :o

I say we should all launch our zimmers in their direction at MK! Bloody cheek!

Great news about Dublin though - next year suits me fine!
