EXCLUSIVE: ROBBIE SO LOW

Troubled star sees doc as he battles depression

By Eva Simpson And Tom Bryant

ROBBIE Williams is being treated for depression, the Daily Mirror can reveal.

The condition - which the troubled star, 32, has battled before - may help explain why he suddenly axed the Asian leg of his world tour this month.

Although the official reason given was that he had "stress and exhaustion", insiders say he has sunk to a new low.

A source close to him revealed: "He's suffered from depression before but feels things are getting worse and the tour was too much."

Robbie is being treated by Dr Mark Collins, a top expert at the Priory clinic in South West London.

The star has even flown him to California, where he lives, for sessions.

The source added: "He's determined to get the very best treatment."

The news comes as he has struggled in the charts and been hit by legal disputes. Comeback single Rudebox flopped and ex-manager Nigel Martin-Smith is threatening to sue over a track on his new album in which he is called an "evil man".

Robbie has talked openly about depression, which he first admitted battling in 2002. In a BBC documentary this month he told Stephen Fry: "I could get up in front of 35,000 or 40,000 people and go, 'Look at me, I'm ace!'

"Then as soon as I got off stage I'd get in the tour coach and go back to my bedroom and pull the duvet over my eyes

:arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr:

He has been receiving treatment for depression for years! This isn't new! And Rudebox hasn't bloody well flopped!

God, it just gets better and better doesn't it?

Wondered when Paul Scott would pop up again. I seem to remeber he was the only one who dragged up some negativity during Knebworth.

How can they get away with continually describing Rudebox as a flop? Don't think it even qualifies as a comeback either, since he's not actually been away. Why can't the British press support our stars instead of contantly sucking up to artists like the Scissors and JT? :(

The Daliy mail article is on their site and there are a lot of comments. A lot are anti -Rob it has to said. Come on people stand up for our boy!!!

ROBBIE: I'M OKAY, TOURS ON

ROBBIE WILLIAMS has told friends "I'm okay" and promised to restart his tour, despite admitting to suffering from depression.

Last night the star reassured those close to him that he's fine, after the news of his mental battle emerged.

He told them: "I'm okay. I'm exhausted and haven't been home for ten months because of my tour and promoting my album.

"It's all got too much for me and I have been told to rest for two weeks. My South American tour is coming up and I want to be ready for that."

I told you last week that The Robster has cancelled the Asian leg of his Close Encounters tour, citing stress and exhaustion. Then it emerged yesterday that he is suffering from depression and exhaustion.

The singer wants to get back on track as soon as possible, hopefully in time for the six-date tour of South America next month, when his new album RudeBox is also released. Pals said last night that while depression is something to be taken seriously, this has happened before and Rob's always managed to pull through.

One told me: "He's not the first or the last person to go through this and is feeling fragile. But he wants to finish the tour and when he wants to do something he makes it happen."

Rob's battle with depression has been well-documented over the years since he left Take That in 1995.

He has dealt with drink and drug addiction and openly talked about it, once saying: "I've been grappling with my depression.

"It's linked to cocaine and ecstasy abuse. That's not going to leave me for another couple of years."

This time with any luck however he will work through it once and for all.

Honest to God. Slag him off one week. Sympathise the next.

Of course they haven't printed an apology to purerobbie or their member Kathi for misusing her quote

in last week's edition. <_<

But at least this article now is sort of alright. -_-

RON WOOD GUITAR FOR FAN ROBBIE

By Paul Kennedy

ROBBIE Williams has splashed out £16,000 to buy one of Ronnie Wood's guitars.

The guitar - signed by Ronnie and the rest of the Rolling Stones - was the star lot in a charity auction.

Robbie wanted it at all costs and a friend bid on his behalf.

The event in Ilkley, West Yorks was organised by snooker star Paul Hunter for his cancer charity the Net Patient Foundation.

A pal of Robbie's said: "Robbie has always been a massive fan of the Rolling Stones.

"He couldn't make it in person because of his tour so he sent along a friend and told him that whatever the final bid was to offer a thousand pounds more."

Not really Robbie related but I couldn't resist. Is this a wind up?

Robbie Williams’ former song-writing partner Guy Chambers is lining up Rolf Harris to guest on Big Brother winner Pete Bennett’s debut album.

Chambers hooked up with Bennett after he won the reality show last month, and immediately got rid of Pete’s existing band Daddy Fantastic because he didn’t like them.

Having cleared the way for star collaborations with such musical luminaries as Rolf, Chambers has already penned a “techno thrash†number for the Tourette's Syndrome suffer, which will be Bennett’s debut single before the year’s out.

Chambers reveals to BBC Six Music, “It's very fast. There's a lot of synths on it but also punky guitars. It's fun though, because he's all about that. He's a very up guy."

A fact anyone who witnessed Bennett’s behaviour upon winning Big Brother 7 would contest to.

The songwriter also said Pete’s uncontrollable swearing – he has a particular predilection for shouting out “w**kers†every two seconds – has proved unproblematic in a recording studio scenario.

“Luckily with digital editing you can take out the rude words,†Chambers says, “but the gigs are going to be interesting. They're going to be very unpredictable but I like that about him."

Chambers also revealed he has also been working with teen rockers Linchpin, who Foo Fighter Dave Grohl apparently digs.

Robbie gets savaged

Sep 24 2006

Rachel Mainwaring, Wales on Sunday

ROBBIE Williams and best chum Jonathan Wilkes left Welsh footie ace Robbie Savage red-faced yet again in front of 70,000 people this week.

In the duo's latest prank - during a perfor-mance of Me And My Shadow at Robbie's show in Milton Keynes on Tuesday - Wilkes blurted out: "Hey, you know that Robbie Savage?"

Robbie replied that he did and Wilkes joked their football pal, who was in the crowd with his wife Sarah, is gay.

It was not the first time Savage has been the butt of Robbie's taunts.

Last July, the pop giant told a packed Amsterdam Arena that the Blackburn Rovers star was "coming out".

Cameras then focused on Savage, who is married with a son, displaying his face to 65,000 cheering fans.

The former Welsh international star said: "I was so embarrassed.

"I'm a dad and happily married.

"I knew Robbie was up to something before the show, but I still can't believe he did it in front of all those people.

"I'll get my own back."

Is Robbie Williams back on drugs?

Gossip, Music

UK pop star, Robbie Williams has sparked fears for his health after appearing on stage looking bloated and confused. Soon after his bizarre appearance, the singer revealed he was cancelling part of his Close Encounters tour, citing "stress and exhaustion," reports NW MAGAZINE

"He looked really, really stressed – as if he was really frightened," notes one concert-goer, from his last concert.

Says another, "He was out of control, touching up the backing singers and making a pass at the keyboard player. You could see it all on the big screen."

Robbie himself admitted not everything was right, telling the 65,000 fans he "felt like s**t".

"He seemed half a step slower and a little more bloated than his usual self," says another fan.

Soon after, his management confirmed Robbie was canceling part of the tour, revealing that continuing would "seriously impact his health". Insiders are now wondering if the former alcoholic and drug user has had a relapse.

Although he has been sober for six years, Robbie recently admitted he misses drugs.

"I'm still addicted to everything," he says. "I hate drugs, I love drugs. They haven't invented a new one that's not bad for you or less depressing than ecstasy, or one that makes you less paranoid than coke.

"As depressing and heartbreaking as it is, as soul-destroying and relationship destroying as it is, it makes life f**king interesting."

That was how we knew who was in the crowd every night - if they got the 'gay' line in Me & My Shadow. It was David Seaman one night as well! :D

Who the **** do they think they are acusing him of being on drugs :o :arrr:

He really should sue the lot of them

Maybe he could get in touch with NMS's lawyers? They seem to be good.

Williams makes light of doctor’s ‘take rest’ orders

London, Sept 25: Doctors may have given British singer Robbie Williams strict orders to rest, but he’s already planning to hit the road.

Williams, who recently admitted that he was suffering from depression, has reportedly told pals that he is “okay”, and that after a two-week pit stop, he would be getting ready to perform at his South American tour.

"I'm okay. I'm exhausted and haven't been home for ten months because of my tour and promoting my album. It's all got too much for me and I have been told to rest for two weeks. My South American tour is coming up and I want to be ready for that," the News of the World quoted him, as telling pals.

Williams’ six day long South American tour takes place next month in October, a time when his new album RudeBox is also released.

A pal revealed that though Williams was feeling “fragile”, he was still determined to go through with the tour.

"He's not the first or the last person to go through this and is feeling fragile. But he wants to finish the tour and when he wants to do something he makes it happen," the friend said.

Williams was forced to cancel the Asian leg of his “Close Encounters” world tour due to "stress and exhaustion", but is determined not to let the same happen to his South American tour.

WILLIAMS DROPS FREE DUBLIN GIG

Robbie Williams

2006-09-25 19:17:14 -

Pop star ROBBIE WILLIAMS is facing criticism after pulling out of a free concert in Dublin, Ireland despite promising to return after his chaotic concert in June (06).

The ANGELS hitmaker was left red-faced at the summer show when he attempted to make a spectacular entrance suspended from a gondola-like contraption over the stage - only for the mechanics to become stuck, leaving him dangling before he was rescued by technicians.

Williams admitted the show was a fiasco, and subsequently vowed to the 80,000 fans he would play a gig for them for free by the end of 2006 to make up for it.

But he has since told promoters in the Irish capital he will not be fulfilling his promise after all.

Williams recently ditched the entire Asian leg of his tour, scheduled for later this year (06), because he is reportedly exhausted after overdoing his onstage capers.

A spokesman for the star says honouring the dates would simply be "asking too much".

From http://www.mtv.co.uk

Robbie Williams has admitted to MTV that 'Rudebox' is his favourite of his own tunes, despite many people being less than kind about it.

“It has a very special place in my heart,†he said. “I think out of any Robbie Williams song I’ve written, I’ve listened to 'Rudebox' the most. I’ve played it to death; it’s almost worn out my computer.â€

Talking about the mixed reaction from fans to the track, he went on, “It’s confused me. Lots of people have said, ‘We don’t like it, we don’t get it’, but to me it’s really strong – it’s more of a single than 'Trippin’' was. :o I personally love it.â€

But it’s not just Rudebox Robbie’s been blasting from his stereo – he’s also been blaring out a certain JT tune.

“I downloaded Justin’s song ‘SexyBack’ and play it before I get on stage in the evenings on this tour,†he ‘fessed.

“I do see similarities (with Rudebox) – it’s very funky and of a dance nature. I like Justin.â€

Aw… :puke2:
