I hate how they're gonna be shoving the Big Weekend down our throats every single hour of every single day for the next few weeks, even though about 0.1% of listeners will actually be going to it :angry: worst month of the year for listening to Radio 1!

loving this being used as the backing track for most of it too! Stadiumx deserve more recognition, they've done some great songs and remixes

 

Nice collection of songs but the megamix itself is no DJ Earworm/Robin Skouteris. :(

 

Can't wait to hear more about this Snoop Dogg artist they're supporting on their In New Music We Trust stage.

It's even worse on the week afterwards where you have to listen to live low quality versions of all the songs on the playlist.

 

The mash up is decent but they are seriously talking about it on radio 1 like it's the second coming. Greg James actually called it 'the best thing radio 1 has ever done. Lol

I wouldn't call it grim, they've obviously got some great artists performing, and that mix is actually pretty decent, but it just really grates on me just how much they go on and on about it in the lead up to the event.

Indeed my artist rant was the fact that festivals as a whole have the same artists throughout the summer months and aren't very unique and yes I agree some of the artists are very good tho.

That Maverick song sounds very summery and upbeat - it should get some daytime play listing and hopefully become a chart hit. There's no album pre order yet so I'd say it'll be held back.

Agree with your description of the track, a grower for sure. Would be surprised if he charted with it though.

I disagree with this. I know you seem to bang on about OA/OS and songs not being held back pretty much every other post, but it doesn't work for all artists, and it wouldn't work for an artist like Maverick, he'd need some radio play and build up to get another Top 40 single.
