Posted January 10, 201511 yr As we come to the Top 20 tracks of the 2014 Year End chart rundown it's time to look at the composition of this year's chart. There are acts from 29 countries (28 in 2013) with as usual the biggest representation coming from the US with 28 (27 in 2013) followed by the UK with 17 (16 in 2013) so this all remarkably consistent. There are six entries from both France and Holland (5 and 4 respectively in 2013). Five entries are from Sweden and Jamaica and four from Australia. This year sees the first entry from Albania and rather more astonishingly from St Maarten with the Shady Brothers. Six songs are in Spanish down from 12 in 2013 with other non English languages being French, German, Romanian, Portuguese, Dutch, Korean, Hebrew and Albanian. Genres represented include dance, hip-hop, reggae, dancehall, bachata, reggaeton, electro pop and blues. Both Ed Sheeran and Meghan Trainor feature 4 times, Sam Smith, Hozier and Romeo Santos three times and Mr. Probz, Paloma Faith, Kiesza, Popcaan and Vybz Kartel twice. Not that it's my intention in compiling to do so but I seem to have been ahead of the game on numerous occasions with tracks charting with me a long time before being internationally successful. In particular "All of me" by John Legend was number 3 in my 2013 Year End chart coming in as the World's second biggest hit of 2014. The biggest hit of 2014 "Happy" by Pharrell was in my 2013 Year End chart albeit at only 69 and resurfaces in my 2014 chart. The third biggest International hit of 2014 "Rude" by Magic ! was at 20 in my 2013 Year End chart. "Take me to church" was at 6 in my 2013 Year End chart only becoming a global hit in late 2014. I wonder whether any other poster on Buzzjack can claim to have pre-empted so many songs ! Another track "Cheerleader" by OMI was at 67 in my 2013 Year End chart and is at 40 in 2014 and looks set to be an international hit in 2015. 20.
