January 15, 201510 yr I absolutely adored Dave Dee, Dozy and co, and they were genuinely a varied and fun band with Howard and Blakeley writing their stuff. I was sad when Dave Dee died, I'd seen them back together again on tour only a year or two earlier and they were cracking, and they were also one of my top bands of the 60's as a kid, especially the cinematic epic Last Night In Soho, possibly the greatest obscure epic of the 60's, the whip-cracking Xanadu, and one I was also mad on for that damn catchy melody, Zabadak. Their hits tended to all sound very different musically, but always good. Under-appreciated.
