Roger Federer and Gael Monfils match will resume today currently at one set all. Intriguing match to watch.

 

I expect Murray to beat Chardy in straight sets. I was very wrong with my prediction on Saturday in Murray's third-round match.

 

 

Defending champion Maria Sharapova is out of the French Open by losing in straight sets to Lucie Safarova who won 7-6 6-4 to go through to the quarter-finals for the first time in her career.

 

 

Safarova played some very good tennis out there, but it must be said that Sharapova didn't look very fit towards the end. That cold she had at the start of the tournament has taken its toll?

 

Williams is in trouble now too, lost the first set to Stephens 6-1.

It will be a clash of the titans between Djokovic and Nadal in the quarter-finals. A defining match possibly in Nadal's career.

Ana Ivanovic and Lucie Safarova will play each other in the semi-finals after they both won their respective quarter-finals.

 

EDIT:

 

Stan Warwinka has beaten Roger Federer in straight sets in the quarter-finals and will play Tsonga in the semi-finals who beat Nishikori in five sets.

 

A fan was taken to hospital after a piece of the scoreboard fall on him in strong winds during the Tsonga v Nishikoiri match.

Serena Williams comfortably through to the semi-finals with a 6-0 6-3 win over Sara Errani.

Do people think Rafa will ever win the French Open again following his quarter-final defeat to Djokovic. Somehow I can't see Nadal winning the French Open again because of all the injuries he has had.

Not just the French Open but another Slam ever again :(

It will be a Serena Williams and Lucie Safarova final on Saturday after Serena came back from 4-6 2-3 down to beat Bacsinszky 4-6 6-3 6-0.

 

How do people see the men's semi-finals going?

 

I think it will be a Djokovic-Tsonga final with Djokovic winning in 4 sets against Murray and Tsonga winning in 5 sets against Wawrinka.

 

 

Well I was wrong about the Wawrinka v Tsonga match.

 

Murray v Djokovic match will be carried on tomorrow at 12:00 with it at 3-3 in the fourth set because it got suspended due a storm approaching.

 

I think Serena will win in straight sets against Safarova in the women's final.

 

 

 

 

So Djokovic wins in the end in 5. I was predicting a Djokovic - Wawrinka final, I just forgot to post it :kink:

 

I'm not sure about Serena, just because she looked very ill in the semis. If she's not getting better I think Safarova will beat her.

Safarova's just come back from 4-1 down to now contesting a tiebreak in the second set. Hope she wins this and there's a third.

 

EDIT: And she did it! Can't decide who I want to win as I've always been a Serena fan but love an underdog. ^_^

Serena ended up winning the final with it being 6-2 in the final set which moves her onto 20 Grand Slam titles.

Prediction for today's final?

 

I'm for Novak in 4.

I think Djokovic will do it in three but hope I'm wrong and we get a good match out of it.

Novak to win in 4 sets.

 

Going to go even more ridiculous and predict a 6-4, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 win for him. :lol:
