Posted January 27, 201510 yr KR1hAY_2XrI I have to say I found the other ones funny on their page but I think this was slightly over the top and offensive with the Frankie depression.
January 27, 201510 yr I quite enjoyed their earlier videos but nowadays I find they're just shocking for the sake of it. I mean that 'parody' of Vanessa is just offensive.
January 27, 201510 yr Hate it. As I said in the other thread, the depression digs are a low blow. I disagree with it
January 27, 201510 yr It's already been discussed in another thread and I don't feel like it deserved its own thread considering how disgusting it is when it comes down to mental illness, if I'm honest...
January 27, 201510 yr Author I couldn't find the other thread to comment on it or I wouldn't have started this one.
January 27, 201510 yr It's alright, no problems. The 7th post (by goldfish) > http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...2023&st=700 As you can see, it has offended more than one I think :kink:
January 27, 201510 yr I did laugh at parts of it in all fairness and I'm all for making jokes about things like their general floppiness and rubbish work ethic, but personal digs like in this video aren't right and are definitely offensive, especially Frankie's depression.
January 27, 201510 yr I dont think any of their videos have been as funny as the Cheryl/Nadine Girls Aloud one, which I think was a great one because they actually capture the girls facial expressions and mannerisms quite well and even copy the video closely and the Cheryl/Nadine typical dance moves and poses. Like clearly alot of research and effort went into it I just think this one isn't funny because it's not that well done and doesn't really "get" The Saturdays. The depression thing is really horrible. However alot of people are commenting on youtube below the video "I laughed at all your other videos but this one making fun of mental health isn't funny" well to be fair their most famous video mocks Kerry Katona for bipolar and addiction issues so some of those comments are hypocrticial (NOT saying anyone here is hypocritical cos noone here is saying they laughed at all their other videos) Edited January 27, 201510 yr by goldfish
January 27, 201510 yr The funny parts "Come to our show and kick we got 2 for 1 tickets" " I'm mollie, I'm mental my problems are dental" "Una's tounge is too big, when I speak I'm splashing" " This band is a disaster because Rochelle is a rasta" " Una More Potatoes please"
January 27, 201510 yr The funny part is the Rochelle intro up until the end of disaster . That is it
January 28, 201510 yr It's the furthest thing from funny I've seen in a LONG time. I've only seen their Girls Aloud parody which was funny because they didn't get personal. Had they stuck to jokes about the tickets, albums etc.. that's fine. But to get so so personal is so disrespectful, they should feel ashamed of themselves. It's shocking but not in the way they want it to be. I find it insensitive, incredibly harmful & insanely racist! To show 'Frankie' slashing her wrists and making it a JOKE?! They obviously know nothing of the effect that could have on someone like Frankie. There are parodies and then there is this.. I've reported the video to YouTube. Not because I love The Saturdays but as someone who has suffered from mental illness, it's overstepped the mark.
