August 7, 20159 yr Yeah I heard about 3 groups of people complaining about the film on the way out, shame it just didn't hold up to expectations :( No Box Office smash here I think.
August 7, 20159 yr No Box Office smash here I think. Early rumours for box office in America are horrid. Supposedly could be going as low as 9M opening day, 20-25M opening weekend and like 55M total :(

August 7, 20159 yr I'm not holding out for a sequel, I know its planned for July 2017, it could still get shelved. I think it will be shelved tbh after the reviews and projected box office. I still think something will happen with it but I'd be very surprised to see them on screen in 2017 at all. Maybe they might just to a spider-man and reboot again :kink: (I'd doubt that would happen though!)

Supposedly could be going as low as 9M opening day, 20-25M opening weekend and like 55M total :( 55M total in the US is awful right, as in surely it won't even get near to its budget costs even with worldwide gross, 55M is even worse considering they are one of the most famous teams in Marvel comic history :/ Also I would still love a sequel because they are such good characters and seeing things like the Silver Surfer again/real Galactus would be amazing, especially with a lighter tone and new director. August 7, 20159 yr 55M total in the US is awful right, as in surely it won't even get near to its budget costs even with worldwide gross, 55M is even worse considering they are one of the most famous teams in Marvel comic history :/ Yeah it's really terrible. It could end up doing a bit more 55M but probably unlikely, should be clearer to see by Sunday! This was projected to open +$40M though before all the reviews started coming in! And iirc, Fantastic Four opened to $60M, Fantastic Four 2 did $58M and Chronicle (which had both Trank and Jordan) opened to 22M/64M which this version may fail to reach which would be horrid, especially considering how much of a bigger budget it has :(
August 8, 20159 yr I would enjoy a sequel too, because the characters were genuinely interesting. It's just the execution of the story that was bad.
August 8, 20159 yr I blame Kate Mara tbh. If a sequel did somehow happen I really don't want to see the Silver Surfer and Galactus, it'd end up being too similar to the other FF sequel, what's the point in rebooting if you repeat the plot? There are so many other great F4 villains to deal with.
August 11, 20159 yr I enjoyed it. Action scenes don't always do a lot for me so the lack of them wasn't an issue and having not seen the previous movies, I liked seeing how they got their powers. It does all feel like a big set-up for a follow-up movie that might not even happen now though.
August 11, 20159 yr just seen it. To be honest I wasn't a huge fan of the originals, I thought they were bland and this could only be better. It wasn't. I liked the new premise for getting the super-powers, but the new young age of the team wasn't convincing, boy genius and all that. The basic problem though was the plot structure flaw as a big as the threatened black hole at the end: if you're going to have a baddie as a plot device for drama you have to have him EARLY ON, and he has to be INTERESTING and BELIEVABLE, not suddenly insane turning up in the last 30 minutes. Where's the drama? Where's the tension? The first hour was basically a TV sci-fi soap opera pilot, and would have been fine as that, but not in a major movie script. 4/10, being generous.
August 12, 20159 yr Saw it the other day and it was... rather underwhelming. Like Doom's character pre-transformation just irked me and this version of Johnny was HELLA BORING compared to the original movie. Sue was also a bit of a non-entity and The Thing really gave me the creeps. Aside: Didn't the original at least had pants on for most of the movie? I am LIVING for Reed and Ben's height difference pre-powers tho, and that entire experiment scene just made me Miles Teller af.
