What Is The worst choice made by The Saturdays' management?

Was it 'Forever Is Over' as lead single?

Gentleman being released?

Higher not the lead single over 'Missing You'

'Notorious' ruining their airplay by making it On Air / On Sale.

Firstly OA/OS for Notorious, but they managed to slightly recover so perhaps not their worst. Gentleman was the final wound which they never healed from.

Lemme prepare an essay for this, I'll be back tomorrow

the drags will be real

Notorious could have gone #6-5 with a proper release tbh (with physical sales released at the same time and all). Faster not being released, Denial not being released, Move On U not making the full tracklist of OYR, the fact the LFTW was released after Disco Love and not WBU and the name LFTW! Gentleman is a great song tbh. Just not single material. Abandoning wordshaker before it could clear 100k and Headlines which could've crept to platinum. And Rochelle getting pregnant during their potential US takeover.

They've made so many idiotic decision that I'm surprised that they managed to last so long.

01. Releasing 'Gentleman' as a single from 'Living For The Weekend'.

02. Ditching 'What About Us' worldwide.

03. Notorious On Air / On Sale.

04. Releasing '30 Days' instead of another single from 'On Your Radar'.

05. Releasing 'What Are You Waiting For' and 'Finest Selection' in the same week with limited promotion.

06. Releasing 'Missing You' instead of 'Higher'.

I never even knew what OA/OS meant, I kept this secret for years. Now I finally know :drama:
I've always said it - Notorious would've been their first #1 with a proper release.

OA/OS release for notorious

Gentleman's release. I do love it but it should have never have been a single. Disco love should have been instead

Promote what are you waiting for more and release a 2nd single from finest selection

Never realeasing 30 days

I remember Marvin in an interview was saying that he was confident that 'Notorious' would be The Saturdays first number one. It's airplay run was incredibly disappointing but it shows how strong The Saturday's fanbase was at the start of 'On Your Radar' to manage to get it top 10.

Exactly. It's longevity was amazing (albeit helped by 59p) and it had some amazing promo slots (So You Think You Can Dance + Graham Norton).

The 59p helped it remain stable, although could you imagine how high it could have got on iTunes had they had decent airplay? I remember they had little effect following Graham Norton and it's a great shame they've never been on there again.

That actually wasn't a mistake at all.

On Your Radar was a #22 flop album. It didn't even had the "top 10 album" sticker to make it look better. Radios wouldn't have played any other songs from that album...which is a big shame.

Had it been released after 'All Fired Up' it would have probably been top 10 and then, flop or not, they could have had released another song from OYR.

Forever is Over isn't a bad lead single, the mistake came with releasing Wordshaker off the back of it. Could have bought the release forward, squeezed Ego in and then released the album. Really don't get the hate for FIO, I bet had it gone to number one people would love it!

Radio 1 played "Faster" twice in December claiming it was the next single. I'm pretty sure it would've been a massive hit in the dead January period.

THIS  :cheer:

There isn't just one choice that was a "worst" choice. The Saturdays career is a catalog of errors, with the occasional high in between.
Letting Marvin visit Rochelle in New York.
Also, Didn't Higher chart top 40 or something when Missing You / Headlines was released? That showed people obviously lvoed the song. If they had released it first, it would definitely have gone to number 1.

It charted at 86 when Headlines was released for a week.

To be honest the week Missing You was released it was only ever going to get to #2 or #3 at best the way it happend.
