40. Sia Ritchie Scott (6.52)

Despite having a massive hit in 2014 with 'Chandelier', Ritchie still managed to make a few appearances, proving that she is still popular on Buzzjack. We see much more of the IKONEK queen this year with her dressed in a very fetching black robe as she battles to save Dot from prison. This proves that she does have thick skin AND an elastic heart.

39. Masood Ahmed (6.68)

2014 was not the best year for Masoon, especially after he developed a drinking/ gambling addiction. Masood has always been a rather happy character (if anyone in EE can be described as happy) and I do feel for him after Carol broke up with him for winky eyed David.

38. Mo Harris (6.71)

Still being relevant for the top 40 is part timer, Mo! She has always been one of my favourite characters in EE with her humour and remarks! SLAY. Mo's highlights last year include her 6 week holiday with Fat Elvis and selling dodgy ice-cream on Kat's stall! :P However, we cannot forget that it was her dodgy hairspray which assisted in causing the fire that nearly killed Kat :(

37. Whitney Dean (6.74)

Just managing to scrape the top 40 is Whitney. She has not had the easiest life but 2014 was a quiet year for the character. Despite telling Lucy to ROT IN HELL at her funeral, she has also been desperate for a relationship with Lee Carter. Whitney decided to stay in Walford and not leave with Bianca.

36. Lola Pearce (6.76)

Up next is the Chavtastic single mother, Lola. Lola has become quite a forgettable character due to her lack of screen time. So I can't really say much about her 2014 except for her usual money relationship and baby problems. She also managed to get a job at Blades which I guess is good.

35. Poppy Meadow (6.81)

Princess Poppy scraping the top 40 has made my life. An unpopular opinion, but Poppy has always been one of my favourite's with her ditsy personality. We saw Poppy leave the sqyare in 2014 after 'exposing' Fat Boy and Denise's kiss. :(

34. Jane Beale (6.97)

Saint Jane falls out next. Since she returned to the square Jane has been portrayed as some kind of Mother Theresa figure. She did not do much in 2014, apart from grieve the death of Lucy. But I am sure after the revelations this year, 2015 will see more of the old Jane we love.

One of my favourite of the new characters introduced to us in 2014 is Pam. Pam and her husband Les moved to the square as she got a new job on the market. Pam has a very good relationship with fellow trader Donna and tends to get on well with everyone! She is just a lovely woman who I hope remains in Eastenders for years to come with her jolly smile and fantastic personality!

Another golden oldie leaving us is Cora. She had quite a quiet 2014 with Tanya and Ava leaving the square. She did manage to Find Ava but that's about it. She still has some iconic lines and her glares towards Babe and Sylvie are life giving!

31. Ian Beale (7.18)



Just missing the top 30 is Eastenders' longest serving cast member, Ian Beale. Ian had to cope with the death of his only daughter Lucy last year, which gave us some iconic gifs such as the 'I have nothing left' scene and his crying face. Ian has still been as much of a prat as usual, which is probably why he is not further up. Shame, as Adam is a very good actor.

30. Shabnam Masood (7.41)

This one was a bit of a shock, but Queen Shabba just manages to scrape the top 30! 2014 saw Shabnam have an eventful year, with her searching for a job as a pharmacist, which she eventually rejected when one was offered to her! We also learnt that she was carrying a massive secret with her and of course we saw her relationship with Kush blossom.

29. Sharon Mitchell (7.50)

The Queen of the pout and the wink drops out next. EE ICON, Sharon, spent most of 2014 chasing after her rascal of a son and battle Shirley for Phil's hand in marriage. However her most remembered storyline is probably her struggle with her addiction to prescription drugs.
