April 13, 201510 yr There's no Bran this season. As far as I've heard there isn't much else about him in books 4 & 5.
April 13, 201510 yr Yeh it was more of a slower paced, establishing episode but I feel all of GOT's first episodes are like that, leaving all the shocks for the rest of the series  Soo excited for Tyrion and Daenerys to meet up!  Oops I didn't even notice the lack of Ayra despite her being one of my favourite characters! Hopefully she's there next week. There's no Bran this season. As far as I've heard there isn't much else about him in books 4 & 5. Good.
April 14, 201510 yr Damnit I wanted Arya. Hope that means a good amount of her next episode then. The promise of Tyrion and Daenerys meeting up is very very strong. Loved the little character bits surrounding the aftermath of Tywin's death in King's Landing, it's much more of a game changer than I originally thought with the Tyrells now in a pretty strong position compared to Cersei. I mean, yes, it was a bit of an introductory episode catch-up with a lot of the characters but I thought the final scene was great and very well-played, shows that things are far from perfect (and therefore incredibly intriguing) at the Wall right now.
April 14, 201510 yr Author I haven't seen the show for 10 months, and I got confused. Did Mance appear in the Season 4 finale, and get captured? Seems such a waste of a mad character. Iz I don't think Tyrion and Danerys will meet up.. they tease us all the time about these things, and nothing ever seems to go to plan. I think they will meet eventually (well you would assume at least!) but I don't think their storylines will converge until the finale.  I thought the episode was OK - certainly not the strongest, but it was nice to see virtually all the main players apart from Arya.

It's a shame because it might have been interesting to see him and Stannis power struggling but I guess the honourable thing was a realistic way to play it. I did think about that but I can't think what obstacles will be between Pentos and Mereen to divert Tyrion for so long, it's a long way but as far as we know it's mostly empty space. Unless he runs into say, Jorah and he ends up going off in a completely different direction. It's possible it'll take as long as the season finale but I wouldn't think it'd be any later.
April 15, 201510 yr Spoiler on whether they meet up: they don't. Correction - they don't meet up in the first 4 episodesÂ
April 15, 201510 yr Correction - they don't meet up in the first 4 episodes  I have been told that they don't ever actually meet, only Tyrion see her once during one of her speeches.Â
April 15, 201510 yr I found the first episode pretty dull if I have to be honest, there was nothing much there to grasp that's my only nitpick, it probably pick up as from next week.
April 15, 201510 yr I have been told that they don't ever actually meet, only Tyrion see her once during one of her speeches. There's a few on set stills released/leaked and a couple of shots show Tyrion sat next to a very signifigant person who is the only person between him and Daenerys. Certainly in the books they don't meet but they've already left out or not mentioned 3 VERY important characters that may or may not yet appear AND (probably) killed one , so they are diverting quite a bit from the source.Â
April 20, 201510 yr as far as I remember from the books, when he finally gets to her, she flies off on one of her dragons before he can talk to her Edited April 20, 201510 yr by Joe.
April 25, 201510 yr The second episode was a bit better than the first (primarily because Arya's storyline is by far the one that interests me the most at the moment) but everything is still too disparate with all the main characters spread out on their own story arcs we're left with something that misses the dialogue scenes that were the strength of the show.
April 30, 201510 yr Author For anyone who has read the books... Does Winter ever actually arrive? I imagine it's more symbolism than anything. Although I expect it to come, when the Wall inevitably & undoubtedly is breached / falls at some point. Thought episode was brilliant. I'm very tempted to go ahead and watch episode 4!
April 30, 201510 yr I've enjoyed the last two episodes quite a bit. Still waiting for Arya's storyline to really pick up but her hiding Needle was a really nice moment. Brienne, Littlefinger and everyone involved with them are making for compelling watching though, loved their confrontation in episode 2, the link-up with the Boltons should lead to some good moments and perhaps something cool involving Theon for once once Sansa sees him. Brienne wanting to kill Stannis (I had forgotten although I suppose I should have considered it being a possibility before now) sets up something interesting, I was starting to see him as a good choice for ruler to hold the North against the coming storm but this and the problems he's having with Jon make it look like far from plain sailing. Margaery is really evolving into a brilliant character for me, more playing off Cersei will be very welcome for all the barely-concealed hatred being passed between them. I'd like to see a bit more of Dorne, nothing has really happened there yet aside from loving Dr Bashir's steely gaze although I'm sure we'll see more soon. Essos really has one of the more intriguing storylines for once, things are really going downhill for Dany much faster than I thought they would (while watching episode 2's final scene I was actually kinda scared for her considering her now unpopularity in the city), and Jorah with Tyrion is... well I'm not sure what it'll turn into yet but it's promising.
May 3, 201510 yr For anyone who has read the books... Does Winter ever actually arrive? Not yet and I expect this season will end pretty much where the books have gotten toÂ
