February 12, 201510 yr Jesus, Groupie sounds absolutely diabolical but in a 'people will lap this shit up' way and Neverstone don't even seem like they have a 'decent by rock standards' number (I could partially get behind stuff like Outrigger or Dead By April because there was at least some semblance of melody in there). So those two will probably go DTF. Speaking of DTF, Magnus looks like he's delivering a suitably camp as tits number, I approve.

February 12, 201510 yr Based on the 30 second clips, my preference would be DTG: Magnus, Mariette AC: Linus, Samir & Viktor 5th: Neverstore 6th: Sanne och Marie 7th: What were you thinking Saucedo?
February 12, 201510 yr Neverstore: http://www.svt.se/melodifestivalen/musikvi...festivalen-2015 Seeing as there was no link in this thread for them. They don't sound AMAZING unfortunately, I'm holding out hope for the full song to change my mind, BUT I don't think that's going anywhere so I'd say you can all breathe a sigh of relief. Mariette sounds potentially very good though.
February 12, 201510 yr Current poll results on SVT's website: Hittills: 554 röster 1. ”Forever Starts Today” – Linus Svenning 20% 2. ”Där och då med dig” – Emelie Irewald 2% 3. ”Groupie” – Samir & Viktor 16% 4. ”If I Was God For One Day” – Neverstore 6% 5. ”Nonetheless” – Marie Bergman & Sanne Salomonsen 3% 6. ”Möt mig i Gamla Stan” – Magnus Carlsson 19% 7. ”Don't Stop Believing” – Mariette 34% That battle for the second Globen spot!!
February 12, 201510 yr Author HOLY HELL Mariette's track is BREATHTAKING. That's EXACTLY the kind of thing I'd want from a Loreen MF comeback if it ever happened!
February 12, 201510 yr Right now I'd hazzard a guess at DTF: Mariette, Linus AC: Magnus, Samir & Viktor 5th: Neverstore 6th: Sanna & Marie 7th: Emily Neverstore and Samir & Viktor are interchangeable as are probably Magnus and Linus. I think the dream of Mari'n'Mags going DTF is not impossible!
February 14, 201510 yr And here's the results of last night's genrep vote: 1. Magnus Carlsson – ”Möt mig i gamla stan” 25,5 % (140) 2. Linus Svenning – ”Forever starts today” 25.3% (139) 2. Samir & Viktor – ”Groupie” 25.3% (139) 4. Mariette – ”Don’t stop believing” 11.3 % (62) 5. Neverstore – ”If I was God for one day” 6.8 % (37) 6. Marie Bergman & Sanne Salomonsen ”Nontheless” 4% (22) 7. Emelie Irewald – ”Där och då med dig”1.8% (10) That top 3 is pretty much a certain to go vidare tonight I'd say. Hopefully (and quite bloody rightfully!) Mariette will be the other song in the top 4.
February 14, 201510 yr Author Changed my plans and going to the SWEDISH CHURCH tonight because Mariette QUITE SIMPLY DEMANDS A LIMINAL SETTING
February 14, 201510 yr Author 01: Mariette - This is Lykke Li does Melodifestivalen and I'm getting flashbacks to my first ever listen of Charlotte Perrelli - Hero in that my reaction to hearing this is pure excitement and joy that I'm going to be spending the rest of my life with this track. I was already totally enchanted and then they just casually threw in a key change and I didn't even know HOW to upgrade my thoughts of this beyond what they were before. This could genuinely win the whole thing - and by that I mean Eurovision. 02: Magnus - I feel a little sorry for Magnus because this is wonderful and everything I've been crying out for for years but he's entered The Girl in a heat with Euphoria and it doesn't mean I don't love him but he can't be my first priority standing alongside Don't Stop Believing. Love the slaggy Alcazar intro and string flourishes, love the Grindr mutton dressed as lamb look of the leather jacket shot, love the fact it sounds like an Andreas solo entry, will almost certainly love the key change. 03: Emilie - Taking back all of the snark I was putting about before - this is mesmerising. Obviously it can't even hope to get to the final five when Mariette is going to monopolise the few votes this sound has, but it reminds me a lot of Elin Petersson - Island in that it isn't really a track for Melodifestivalen but it doesn't make it any less stunning. 04: Linus - It's basically a post-Paradise Coldplay track isn't it? I prefer it to Tell The World I'm Here (though almost by default as it isn't sung by an asthmatic twink urchin) and I think as the many spiritual descendants of that track go it's second to Martin Stenmarck's entry last year but still pretty good, and I'm really pleased this means he probably won't win. Is it me or is this the first song Aleena Gibson's written without a single standout awful passage? This is a really important turning point for the genre of ESL pop if so 05: Neverstore - Jesus Christ his accent! I actually don't hate it though (until it knocks out either Magnus or Mariette). The tin whistle in the background of the verses is a really odd little charm on this track, and it's not the kind of rock that I feel stands in total opposition to everything the contest stands for (has Nanne disowned her children yet?), though mainly as I'd probably be crying and screaming if Linda Bengtzing entered this and tapped into her until-now-undiscovered rock fanbase to finally win MF and Eurovision with a text that felt true to her aspirations 06: Sanne & Marie - I really want to like this a lot more than I do but lilting country harmonies sung competently don't really do it for me and I can tell this is going to just get filed alongside Cajsastina in the tracks I like on paper but never fail to skip. I'd kind of prefer it if this was being done by Cookies N Beans as at least then we could count on a golden money note of shame to liven up proceedings 07: Samir & Viktor - This is everything that's alienated me from pop culture for the last three years.
February 14, 201510 yr 01 Linus - The Coldplay is indeed strong with this one. Unlike the others that have sounded in that sort of general direction, this doesn't feel like it will be held back by much, it probably won't end up winning but I'm not going to count him out just yet. I love it, he's singing very strong on it and it's so uplifting! 02 Mariette - I can definitely see the contender potential in this, fantastic way to announce yourself to the Melfest stage, surely this has to be DTF! I probably prefer Linus personally but I'm behind this one as well. 03 Emilie - Going absolutely nowhere but this is really lovely and sweet, rather that than some dirge filling up 7th place, that's for sure. Some parts of it remind me of a slower Vida Minha (and why I recall that track at all is beyond me, but if a Swedish person did that, this is what I'd expect it to sound like). 04 Neverstore - Better than the 30-second clip had promised, but I'm not sure why, it's leaving me a little cold, there isn't quite enough there to make the track come alive and his vocals feel a little bored. Hopefully the live performance will bring it alive in some fashion. 05 Sanne & Marie - This CAN be my thing if done right but it's a little slow to fully match that, there are some lovely harmonies but it does come across as a little plodding. 06 Magnus - Pretty competent pop but I'm not feeling anything special from it. Plenty of room for that to happen, just on first listen I'm not enthralled. 07 Samir & Viktor - This is very trashy and I don't want to like this, and I don't really, but it is annoyingly catchy and there's probably no way this isn't going further. Worse than Heat 1 as there are 4 tracks I'm not quite on board with to varying degrees (Neverstore for example really just need a good live performance to win me over) but Linus and Mariette are doing well to save it.
February 14, 201510 yr I'm living for Linus and Mariette in this heat and in full I will probably be living for Magnus as well (the key change hitting at 2:31 is so cruel!). I'm also a sucker for the crones in studio but lilting country is something I know I'm partial to but it's probably doomed.
February 14, 201510 yr 1. Linus 2. Magnus 3. Mariette 4. Samir & Viktor 5. Emelie 6. Neverstore 7. Marie & Sanne Never thought Linus would be top of any of my rankings! 'Forever Starts Today' is really good though. I could see it being a One Direction track actually. Mariette could well be onto an Ace Wilder situation here so I hope she goes to AC, to get that extra week which would've won it for Ace. Oh and I'm counting down the MINUTES until we get to hear Magnus' key change! Overall quite a poor heat I think. I only really care for the top 3, Samir & Viktor could be a bit of fun in full but that's it I think with regards to what I'll be coming back to again.
February 14, 201510 yr Linus - much better than I expected! I'd be disappointed if it didn't go DTF because it's quite a weak heat all in all really... Emilie - this is nice and she's vocally competent, but it's doomed for 7th - nothing special and probably not something I'll be coming back to a lot. Samir och Viktor - I want to hate it and the Avicii style guitar intro pushes me that way but it's too catchy :( I don't want it AC because otherwise I'll have to hear it lots more and I'll end up liking it properly. NO. PLEASE. NO. Neverstore - this isn't absolutely terrible, but it's just kind of like a middling album track by one of those fanbase emo bands who year 9s going through their grungey/pop-punk phase love and then abandon two years later. Sanne & Marie - country is my weakness. This is very nice, lovely in fact! I agree though it just needs a bit more of a build-up, it coasts along a bit but nonetheless (:kink:) it's a very nice listen. This to do a Only The Dead Fish Follow The Stream please. Magnus - this does very little for me, but then this is coming from the person who ranked Alcazar last out of the final 10 last year! It's the sort of thing I can see the appeal in, but I just don't rate myself... I hope this does a När änglarna går hem, or less than that even. Mariette - *.* by far the best of the heat! I love when those who are debuting in MF come in with a bang like this. This could go DTF easily but my gut feeling is AC, and hopefully as she's an artist who won't have a fanbase the extra few weeks of being available on iTunes etc. will mean she's in with a chance of winning the whole thing. Think: DTF - Linus, Samir och Viktor (hopefully they split the tween vote but I do think that both will make it) AC - Mariette, Magnus 5th Neverstore 6th Sanne och Marie 7th Emilie Want: DTF - Mariette, Linus AC - Sanne och Marie, Emilie 5th Samir och victor 6th Magnus 7th Neverstore I'm not confident in my predictions this time though - the top four SEEMS so clear cut but with MF I never let myself believe that the seemingly obvious will actually happen  If that makes even an iota of sense. This isn't a terrible heat (there's nothing I hate, just a couple that do very little for me), but aside from Mariette there's nothing that I think absolutely must be in the final in the grand scheme of things.
February 14, 201510 yr Actually catching this live tonight, I have my snacks (houmous and pita bread) and my drinks ready. Let's do this!
February 14, 201510 yr Final predictions from me before I watch! DTG: Magnus, Samir & Viktor AC: Linus, Mariette 5th: Marie & Sanne 6th: Neverstore 7th: Emelie
