Thelonia BJSC LXXVI Result

So, we made it through Semi-Final 2 to qualify for what we believe is one of the best finals to have taken place! B-)

Anne-Marie landed mid-table in the end finishing respectably in 22nd with 149 points.

I've got this feeling that the next contest will be another corker.

Peace out x

We QUALIFIED and then DNQ

So, Zac Samuel was a minor hit in Semi-Final 1 just qualifying by the skin of its teeth. However due to an initial voting mix-up, both Thelonia and Theodora got 48 points and Theodora made it through so we flopped out in 21st place.

Oh well, we were NEARLY there.

Congratulations to Aquafina for their double win :)

House music is definitely born.

So, looks like 'Chicago' was popular enough despite uncertainty from us and has qualified into the Final of BJSC 78. Looking forward to this one.

UK Chart Near Misses - BJSC Edition

Beats International - In Ghetto

Thelonia goes back to 1991 with its entry for UK Chart Near Misses. Fronted by the then ex-Housemartins member Norman Cook, Beats International rose to prominence with their UK #1 single 'Dub Be Good To Me'. A few singles and a second album later came their cover of Elvis Presley's 'In The Ghetto' which sadly couldn't match the success of previous releases. It reached #44 in February 1991, but that aside, it is certified electronic bop and one we are proud to put forward for this spin-off.

The Durden Theory - f***ing Your Wife

Taking a different route, but still sticking with house music, Thelonia has opted for a song of satire (of sorts) about an American character working in the finance industry.

Poor Floppy Thelonia

So, continuing our shockingly bad streak of entries for anything, Beats International finish in 32nd place with 24 points for the UK Chart Near Misses spin-off. :nocheer:

I think we're overdue a catch up.

So, in the last BJSC contest of the year in November, E^ST was chosen to represent us. Despite sweeping predictions for a qualification, we did not succeed and we placed in 23rd of Semi 2 with 41 points. #sadface

This week, however, The Wombats represented us in the Christmas spin-off and we went on to achieve our highest ever placing in any contest, finishing 13th with 124 points!

Happy Christmas folks!

Deorro feat. Erin McCarley – I Can Be Somebody

We Are Your Friends is a 2015 'coming of age' American musical drama from Max Joseph (Catfish: The TV Show) which sees Zac Efron at the helm as aspiring DJ Cole Carter bringing the culture of EDM to the screen.

The soundtrack to this film is fantastic which includes stunning remixes: Years & Years – Desire (Gryffin Remix), Seinabo Sey – Younger (Kygo Remix), AlunaGeorge – You Know You Like (Tchami Remix). Artists such as Klingande, Hayden James, Fake Blood, Hook N Sling, Carnage, Bro Safari and Will Sparks also feature, not forgetting the namesake from Justice & Simian.

For this BJSC spinoff, we've chosen the opening track from the soundtrack and the song which launches us into the closing credits.

"Are we ever gonna be better than this?"
