I would suggest late votes should have a 15% deduction and allowed to participate next contest. There shouldn't be no punishment but a ban is a tad harsh if they've at least made the effort to vote before the results

no offence to the mods but this is ridiculous now. i feel like this PARTICULAR circumstance has been answered about 20 times now in the last year, and there is actually contests within the SONGS OF thread that have shown like 5 different ways to do it. it should be a 16.6% deduction with no ban in the case of the final and the same in semi-finals, zero tolerance [MODS INCLUDED] unless there is sufficient proof / advanced planning that it was due to human error / system errors. this should be accepted at the HOSTS discretion as it is in place to prevent THEM being f***ed around, not the mods, the 16.6% has been applied through mods fairness. there should also be rules in place for permissions regarding AQs [aka asking the 2nd place if they want to take up that place provided they are liable to vote for BOTH semi finals] and then a 8.3% deduction for only voting in one, 16.6% deduction in the final for not voting in both and then just a straight up 33% one for not voting in the final / a combination of the previous two and late voting.

Seems to me that if a host is willing to accept slightly late votes (Jake told me he was only a couple of hours after the deadline) then the penalty should be a bit lighter? Like just having the deduction without a ban. Having both a deduction and a ban while still accepting votes is a bit of a slap in the face really, it only causes the late voter's song to drop even further down the scoreboard. Either be strict about deadlines and don't accept late votes at all or reduce the penalty if you do accept late votes.

 

Plus Botanikka weren't banned last month for their late votes in LXX so some consistency here would be good, even leaving aside the Ashton thing.
