The two greatest players in the world right now, and have been for some time. I don't think we have ever had a poll to see what BuzzJack thinks, so here goes! Both players will go down in the Top 5, if not even the Top 2..

 

I think Ronaldo is a fantastic player, however Messi for me everytime. I love watching him play, and I think if he didn't get injured a few years ago he would be on another level to Ronaldo. His control and touch is something else, especially his dribbling skills. Think the argument that he's never won the World Cup so he's not the best player is completely ridiculous.

Very tough but I went for Ronaldo cos he has done it on a cold, rainy night in Stoke :P

Messi

Messi. It doesn't matter how well Ronaldo plays, he's still a prick.

Messi. Ronaldo is a more complete player in an attacking sense (ability in the air etc.) but Messi's work rate puts him ahead.

Lionel Messi because of his workrate and those 5 goals he scored in a Champions League second match against Bayer Leveruksen a couple of ago. Sheer joy to watch.

 

 

Ronaldo is better right now in my eyes - Messi has slightly declined while Ronaldo has just got better.

 

However, I think Messi will go down in history as greater. Around 2010-2012 time he was unquestionably the best in one of the best club teams ever seen. I think we may have been "dulled" to his genius since we've come to expect it all the time.

 

Messi also seems the more natural player - the player everybody dreams about being. While Ronaldo's success has been down to work-rate and hours honing his physique along with his stunning ability.
