Gilles Peterson, Four Tet, Legowelt and Black Lips’ Cole Alexander have all either leant production skills, or provided remixes for release around the LP. Bahdeni Nami is set for release via Monkeytown on 28 July. It was recorded primarily in Istanbul (Turkey), and features his traditionally traditional arrangements, with help from poet/songwriter Ahmad Alsamer, Khaled Youssef, Rizan Said and more. It is the follow up to 2013's Wenu Wenu.
March 26, 201510 yr I never know how comfortable I feel with all these djs jumping on this guy to get production credits but then it always ends up GR8 so whatever
July 28, 20159 yr Never got around to listen to the early leaks but doing it now and this is pretty amazing!
July 28, 20159 yr There was a time when I genuinely thought 'Wenu Wenu' was the best thing ever. Didn't have this down to be a BuzzJack thing I must say. Hit me up with the GO TO TRACKS Pav.
July 30, 20159 yr Enssa El Aatab and the title track are my highlights right now. The only ones I'm not really feeling are the opening and closing tracks (Mawal Menzal and the remix, consecutively). UTTERLY OBSESSED WITH THE ENTIRE THING THOUGH
August 2, 20159 yr I only ever heard Warni Warni and then I completely forgot about him but this is great! Tawwalt El Gheba is fab.
August 2, 20159 yr The title track is epic *.* gonna try and hear the rest of this. I'd only just discovered him through Soap&Skin's cover of the also brilliant Mawal Jamar
