I really don't get why Olly Murs has people riled up so much! :lol: I'd have preferred to see him with someone else (was hoping for Emma Willis :() but CarOlly is a great team. They'll bring in some much needed "youth" to the show I reckon.

 

I've always been in the minority with Olly, but I find his personality utterly awful. I hate that kind of ''cheeky chappy'' type persona. It always feels disingenuous and utterly fake to me, I don't like people being that positive all the time, especially not on something like this. And ''banter'' is a concept I truly wish would FOAD.

I actually see nothing wrong with Olly, I like him but I don't see the point of him being the new host because his personality is very Dermot. If there's a new host, they may aswell bring a different dynamic to the show. He even looks like he could be Dermot's brother.

 

Would be interesting to see a duo host the show though, so him being with Caroline could bring something fresh to the forefront.

Thanks for saying exactly what goes through my head when I see Olly. Awful. The fact he makes a living as singer when he's utterly awful at actually singing is bad enough but giving him one of the biggest presenting jobs on television? Just no. I will certainly not be watching the show if he is anywhere near it. At least I will have signed off with a great winner last year (imo) and leave the show there. Surely we will eventually find out he's related to Cowell on some way LOL. Its the only explanation for the continuous pushing of someone so mediocre at everything he does. I'm non-plussed about Flack but of the 3 would rather Dermot stayed. I quite liked him.

There's an interview with Olly in The Sun today - he confirmed there has been talks but that he was quite adamant he'd only come back and present if he could do it with Caroline again as he wouldn't want to do it on his own (aaah Carolly :wub: ), and that he's also quite adamant he doesn't really want to be a judge given how swiftly the public can turn on them sometimes (*cough*Cheryl/Tulisa*cough*).

 

He also said that there's at least two more singles coming from his current album (I'd imagine a re-release at Christmas a la 'Right Place Right Time' will be on the cards then, particularly if they pack it with a DVD of his current tour like last time) so the music wouldn't be affected at all.
