Posted April 1, 201510 yr One quarter of the year has passed which means a new feature of the Thermo Hot 50 will start, that is of course the Q1 Hot 50 :cheer: Many of the following songs will probably feature in my EOY, so there won't be too much commentary, but here is how the EOY is shaping up so far~ It will start with numbers 50 to 41 shortly. http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n252/little-miss-chocolate/awyxj7.gif
April 1, 201510 yr I'm not that much of a James Bay fan tbh Ok then james bay doesn't have to be #1 :( Instead let it go by Idina menzèl can be #1 :P

At #47 is the highest entry taken from Unknown Pleasures, and it's not even my own entry which shows how I don't pick songs I really love for that contest how good 'Blue' is. A very good discovery which unfortunately just missed out on a top 20 position about a month ago. Take a listen to it if you haven't already, it's quite chill. Kanye West ha proper return (Only One doesn't count) is at #46. He really impressed with this song at the BRITS but annoyingly half the performance was muted because of swearing. Thankfully the studio version got released shortly afterwards and it's a big tune :music: Paperwhite who got a multi-week chart topping album for me with their 6-track 'Magic' have their highest single at #45, 'Pieces' which peaked at #13 last year but got given another chance in my chart and re-entered the top 20. Another good and it's not dance UV. Australian Triple J countdown topping artist Chet Faker had a minor top 10 hit with the winning track 'Talk Is Cheap' which I got into for a bit but got old fast. It's still quite good though. One place above him is long-time dance DJ Ferry Corsten whose 'Hyper Love' got him his first chart hit for me, about time he had one really. And at #41 is former #1 'Climbin (Piano Weapon)' which finished its chart run earlier this year.

Thallie Ann Seenyen ~ Dance With Me 38-30-25-21-19-35-x • 6 weeks Felix Jaehn starts off the top 40 with the first of two entries, although 'Dance With Me' is his only non-remix single. This is followed by 2 Oliver Heldens tracks in a row, with a third a few places higher. 'Melody' has only charted for 3 weeks but having been #1 it has already gained lots of points, and it will continue to climb throughout the next quarter. At #38 is his remix of 'Can't Stop Playing' which is also his next UK single, and his highest entry is his Zeds Dead collab 'You Know' at #34. Oliver Slaydens really owns this section. Some recent top 10s also here, including Tough Love 'Dreams' and SNBRN 'Raindrops' which are currently #4 and #5 respectively, as well as former #6 'They Don't Know' which sits between them, however it has already dropped outside of the top 40 section of my chart so won't be gaining many points in the future. The only UK #1 that first went to #1 this year also features, this is of course Years & Years 'King' which has only peaked at #16 but has proven to be stable in the chart so far. Other UK #1s of 2015 outside the top 50 are Jess Glynne's 'Hold My Hand' (#61), Ellie Goulding 'Love Me Like You Do' (#152), and Chart Killers 'Lay Me Down' has not charted, obviously.

Ayden ~ Till It Hurts 32-7-7-4-11-30-x • 6 weeks 30 212 Eric Prydz vs. CHVRCHES ~ Tether 3-2-3-13-22-... • 5 weeks Eric Prydz came back again this year to give us the excellent 'Tether' remix, which didn't last as long near the top as I thought it would but nonetheless it's still amazing. This is followed by two BJSC entries, Yehesi's 'Till It Hurts' which gave them another top 10 in the contest and top 5 in the chart, and our entry 'What You Do' which peaked at #2 recently and is still in the top 10. Some unlucky #11s next, Martin Garrix peaked at #11 twice with promo single 'Forbidden Voices'. He's now released 'Don't Look Down' which has so far peaked at #13 but is set for the top 10 next week. Sia who peaked at #11 in the UK chart (until possibly this week) also peaked at #11 in my chart with the amazing 'Elastic Heart' which deservedly became a big success despite being over a year old when it got pushed. Showtek only managed a #18 peak with their first attempt at future house '90s By Nature' but its stable chart run allows them to start off the top 25. Which means technically they should be in the top 100 for the EOY, if it is made up of the top 25 songs of each quarter that is but that's not how it is compiled, so anything could happen. Rhymes sampling 'Rhymes' continues the chart at #24 behind more variants of house from positions #21-23. Out of that lot Pep & Rash still have another chart entry to come in the top 20, 'Rumors' of course, which was a #1 hit so could potentially top this chart
April 1, 201510 yr King and tether  Rhymes though :puke2: And Love You Like Me Do should be way higher
April 2, 201510 yr "Rhymes" sampled "Technologic", not itself lol Also YAAAAS at "90's By Nature"

Bruno Mars ~ Uptown Funk ...-4-9-9-7-14-24-36-42-x • 8 weeks Starting the top 20 is another 2014 leftover but it was still relatively fresh at the start of the year like Happy was and it's also the biggest selling song of the year so far in the UK (and probably the US), Uptown Funk is still a great tune and deserves all the success it is getting. Avicii hasn't been particularly active recently but 'The Nights' got a release and alongside it his own remix of it which is a lot better than the original, which failed to make any impact. He recently teased a Garrix / Legend collab but it has since been taken down from YouTube and no release date of that is to be found. Whitney Houston's impact lives on after her death, with the funky remix of 'How Will I Know' by Oliver Nelson giving her a #2 hit and it is at #17 in the countdown, ahead of Martin Solveig who hasn't had a big hit in my chart since 'Hello' so it was great to hear 'Intoxicated' from him. A cover of the Robin S classic 'Show Me Love' finishes outside the top 15, which hopefully gets a UK push this summer as it's amazing. One of the biggest dance smashes of the year 'Wish You Were Mine' (shoo UV this is amazing) starts the top 15 just beaten by potential future smashes 'The Girl Is Mine' and 'Cool', the latter of which is the first of two entries for Alesso, and could potentially overtake 'Heroes' in the future. Ferreck Dawn & Redondo had 'Love Too Deep', my #3 song of 2014, so a comeback was always going to do well and 'Something Else' almost gave them their second #1. It just misses the top 10 here as it's nowhere near as good as 'Love Too Deep' (to be expected), but still great. 4 Strings are one place below with their second #2 hit 'Hold In Silence' which follows last year's 'This Heart Is Yours'.

Kanye West & Paul McCartney ~ FourFiveSeconds 50-9-7-5-5-3-5-11-18-... • 9 weeks Now in the top 10 of Q1, which means all the following songs should end up in the top 40 in the EOY. Firstly Queen Rihanna decided to come back to releasing music, and we are thankful for it obviously as only her could make a song like 'FourFiveSeconds' really work and be a major jam. With the help of Kanye West of course, and that Paul McCartney dude who does barely anything in the song. I can't really see him becoming a thing tbh. 'Promesses', now my favourite Tchami song after not being fully convinced on first listen, spent 3 weeks at #2 and was very big for me for a few weeks. I'm really liking the future house style at the moment and Tchami does it well. The song even managed to be a UK top 10 which is amazing even though it dropped out very quickly. One place higher, future UK #1 'Cheerleader' , which actually made my #1 spot towards the end of 2014 but has continued to do well now and is still in my chart. Good for him. Sadly the post Swedish House Mafia projects aren't doing very well in the official chart but 'Something New' (not Girls Aloud) was a big smash for me, eventually making the top 10 and it appears at #7 in this countdown which is higher than its weekly peak. Also out-peaking itself is #8 hit 'Heroes (We Could Be)' which just misses out on the top 5 in this countdown but has had a very stable chart run (until it dropped out last week, oops).

I found Pep & Rash's song 'Fatality (Quintino Edit)' a few months after it was released and really got into that (it was #21 in the countdown), and then they released the amazingness that is 'Rumors' which is easily a lot better, they have such a good sound and the song is simply banging and a deserved future UK smash :music: And at #3 a song that will never be a UK smash but I really love it nonetheless, 'BANG!' which features a female with the same name as a buzzjack poster and the current month of the year spent 5 weeks at #1 at the start of the year but unfortunately it couldn't hold on to the YTD #1 spot and in a big competition week it has already left the chart. Kygo's 'Firestone' peaked at #2 last year and matches that peak in this countdown, thanks to its amazingly stable chart run, having returned to the top 10 even recently due to increasing UK popularity re-creating interest in the song. Kygo had already proven himself to be a great producer but this song really impressed and is deservingly very high in the countdown, and is likely to stay at least top 5 by the end of the year. There was only going to be one #1 though and with a big lead it is Alex Adair! He of course is behind the amazing unique production that is 'Make Me Feel Better', which I got into at the end of last year but recently really loved it, as shown by it Thinking Out Louding its way to #1 (except not as long). Such a fabbbb song and really annoyed it missed the UK top 10 (silly lack of taste)
April 2, 201510 yr Eew at rumours top 5, awful song :puke2: Really starting to like makes me feel better now though :o It deserved to do better officially :(
April 2, 201510 yr A State Of Trance 2015 possibly my #1 album next week? :P Not at all surprised at "Make Me Feel Better", considering you've advocated for it so much :D
