Marmaduke Duke do indeed feature Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro. Similarly, Alex Turner (Last Shadow Puppets) had several T20 hits in Arctic Monkeys, and Jack White from the White Stripes was in the Raconteurs.

I don't think so, it's just that Wikipedia have a list of every song that went top 10, so the list is easier to compile using just top 10s.

One I noticed not listed that I've just been reminded of - Sam Sparro Black & Gold.

Just realised Rik Mayall is in the list. Possibly should be mentioned that he had a Number One as part of The Young Ones.
