I'm really enjoying this! This is the year I started following music and there are SO many memories just reading this thread.

Glad your enjoying this. :D I was too young in 2000 to remember most of the hits, especially the obscure ones.

Thanks, I couldn't find anything about them anywhere. The OCC only credited OnePhatDeeva for that song but everywhere else credits ATFC. I'll edit ot out now.

Next - Wifey

Peak: 19

Chart Run: 91-19-28-34-47-71 (5 weeks)

2nd Highest Hit: Too Close (#24)

Commentary: Nice bit of smooth R&B you don't hear much of anymore. Felt like it should have been a minute shorter to have made it a great song.

Rating: 8/10

Vanessa Amorosi - Absolutely Everybody

Peak: 07

Chart Run: 7-12-16-20-28-34-43-57-60-74-(x)-95-83-95 (13 weeks)

2nd Highest Hit: N/A

Commentary: I'm undecided on this song. The music's fine but her voice irritates me. I would enjoy this more with somebody else singing it.

Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400

Peak: 02

Chart Run: 82-61-99-2-2-5-7-12-15-23-30-39-47-64-69-72-71-71 (18 weeks)

2nd Highest Hit: N/A

Commentary: This is the 2nd time I've heard this song this week and it hasn't stood out much. It's just a perfectly fine inoffensive dance record. Would not have expected it to have had 2 weeks at number 2. :o

Scott & Leon - You Used To Hold Me

Peak: 19

Chart Run: 19-28-34-46-70 (4 weeks)

2nd Highest Hit: Shine On (#34)

Commentary: Sounds the exact same as a lot of the garage songs so far. Apparently this is a cover of a 1987 song. Doesn't work for me.

The next one was going to be Sureal - You Take Me Breathe Away but Wikipedia reliably :kink: informs me that this is an alias of Lange who had a number 9 hit with 'Drifting Away' in 2003. So the next one is...

Delerium ft Sarah McLachlan - Silence

Chart Run: 73-(x)-3-4-6-7-11-13-21-28-31-37-44-45-41-47-59-62 (17 weeks)

2nd Highest Hit: Innocente (Falling In Love) (#32)

Commentary: I'm not liking this as much as everyone seems to do. It's alright but seems to be a bit overrated.

Rating: 6.5/10

Chart Run: 16-29-41-54-74-(x)-98-99 (7 weeks)

2nd Highest Hit: Shopping (#36)

Commentary: This is extremely cheesy. I just can't enjoy this, it's too cringy to listen to.

2nd Highest Hit: Speed (Can You Feel It) (#68)

Commentary: Weird but I like it. Apparently it was made popular by a remix by Timo Maas but I've already listen to the original so I'll keep my rating of the original.

Warrior - Warrior

Peak: 19

Chart Run: 19-30-49-66 (4 weeks)

2nd Highest Hit: Voodoo (#37)

Commentary: You don't see too many self-titled singles. :o This is an average track. The lack of information I can find about this song shows it's one that's been left in the past.

Kandi - Don't Think I'm Not

Peak: 09

Chart Run: 9-9-13-19-23-29-35-36-36-53 (10 weeks)

2nd Highest Hit: Speed N/A

Commentary: The verses are decent on this track but the chorus is weak. I don't get the concept of this song; Don't think you're not what?

Wu-Tang Clan - Gravel Pit

Peak: 06

Chart Run: 6-12-17-18-19-19-18-19-24-30-39-47-61 (13 weeks)

2nd Highest Hit: Speed Triumph (#46)

Commentary: It feels weird describing a group as iconic as the Wu-Tang Clan as a one-hit wonder. I really love this song and I imagine it would be even better if the song wasn't so censored in the video. Also what an ending to video :o :o :o

2nd Highest Hit: Dance Tonight (#36)

Azzido Da Bass - Dooms Night

Commentary: Weird but I like it. Apparently it was made popular by a remix by Timo Maas but I've already listen to the original so I'll keep my rating of the original.

The video you linked is the Timo Maas remix, it just doesn't credit him. Have no idea how it actually went top 10 though but it's quite catchy.

Kernkraft 400 is a CLASSIC

Chart Run: 11-14-16-17-17-23-32-43-55-69-(x)-96 (11 weeks)

2nd Highest Hit: N/A

Commentary: This is really terrible. It's just extracts from the advert mixed with the backing track of U Can't Touch This. What were people thinking buying this.

Rating: 4/10

Edit: Wikipedia tells me they are an alias of Shaft who had a number 2 hit with (Much Mambo) Sway.

Craig - At This Time Of Year

Peak: 14

Chart Run: 14-21-30-48-73-(x)-56-97 (7 weeks)

Commentary: The first Christmas song is by Craig off of Big Brother. I don't want to be too harsh on it as it was for charity but it's not a good effort.

Chocolate Puma & Riva are both disqualified as Wikipedia says they are both by the same duo (Zki & Dobre).

Raven Maize are also disqualified as it is an alias of Joey Negro who has had 2 top 20 hits.

The first song will be soon.
