May 5, 201510 yr I've now used 'The Missing Charts' by Steve Waters to extend this list to cover the 1940s and early 1950s. This took some time to do as many names in that era were misleading. Lou Preager, Caroll Gibbons, Issy Bonn, Jan August and Dusty Fletcher all turned out to have been male, for example. But I think I have done enough research now to be sure that everyone on this part of the list is genuinely female, although in the case of one Matty O'Neil there is still a chance this could have been a woman or a pre-pubescent boy, though what little information I have found seems to suggest a woman.
