September 26, 200618 yr Take That have had a lot of success, haven't they? I think like All Saints, they have an audience. They just need to mature a bit, because their fanbase has as well. I actually wanted them to comeback, when I first heard All Saints had, But I still think the best comebacks would be from S-Club 7 and of course, the Spice Girls.
September 26, 200618 yr take that i think will do great with there new singles and album also but i always thoughtthey were good and i still ssay gary barlow is a very talented guy, im not a big fan of the spice girls or all saints but would have prefered spice girls, its hard to know if all saints can pull staying together as they really didnt get on,maybe they have all that sorted now but it could split them again, i dontthink s club or steps would fit back into th emarket these days,at the time they did well but it may be best to leave it that way,but then again bananarama manged a comeback so they could to
September 26, 200618 yr I think music is a repeated cycle. Manufactured pop will come back in a few years, and this whole anti-manufactured style (Lily Allen, Sandi Thom, James Blunt, James Morrisson, etc.) will disappear. Then it'll come back, and manufactured pop will fade away.
September 26, 200618 yr ya thats very true, very few manage a steady successfull pop career kylie and madonna are prob th emost successfull and the only ones who have had and will have longevity
September 27, 200618 yr One of the decade’s most successful pop bands FIVE today announced that they were reforming after a break of Five years. At a press conference held today at the Bar Academy Islington in London, the four former members announced they would reform and record a new album. The band line-up now mirrors that of when they split five years ago. Ritchie, Abz, J and Scott split exactly five years ago today, live on MTV Select. They were at the top of the charts, and riding high in America and around the world at the time, but work pressures drove them to a break. Today they announce that they are reforming and working with some of the top writers in the business. Guy Chambers of Robbie Williams fame and Anders Bagge, whose recent collaborations include Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson and Madonna’s latest 'Confessions' album. They have also written a track with hip French underground DJs, Trak Invaders. The band also used unique texting service Flirtomatic.com to announce the news to their fans as they broke it to the media. Over 50,000 fans of the band, who had all been sending the boys flirting messages causing them to rise to the top of the Flirtomatic.com charts, received a text with the announcement of the reformation of the band at 11.30am today. Five were formed in 1997 and went on to sell a staggering 20 million records worldwide. An amazing achievement and one that very few pop acts have surpassed. From 1997 to 2001, the band had 11 UK Top Ten singles and 4 Top Ten albums, including 3 number one singles and a number one album. In total they sold 7 million albums in the UK alone. Internationally, this success was repeated. They even managed to crack the elusive US market with 2 million album sales in the States. Their success in the recording field was equally matched with their live performances. On their sold-out 2000 ‘Invincible’ tour, they played live to 2 million people. In 2001, they played to just under half a million people at a sold-out show in Brazil. The band also announced today that they plan to tour next year, once the new record is released.
September 27, 200618 yr Haha yeah :P Though it doesn't sound as good as "5ive". Well, I'm sure they'll have a hit again..at least in the UK.
September 27, 200618 yr It was obvious what the announcement was gonna be . They may have been successful before but I don't think they stand a chance on matching it. xXx
September 27, 200618 yr Russell to join 5ive? Boyband 5ive are reforming, and although it’s a little bit sad that Sean Conlon (the one nobody fancied) won’t be joining them, what’s even sadder is that, but for a quirk of fate, the line-up could have been oh-so-different. You see, once, a long time ago (well, 1998) a certain big-haired wannabe comic auditioned to be in a boyband. That boyband was 5ive. That comic was Russell Brand. Yup, it’s hard to imagine his spiky hair and skinny legs next to the pumped-up, er, abs of Abs and the rest of the lads, but it could have happened. If he hadn’t messed up the audition, that is. “We had the choice of singing Robbie Williams’ Angels or that George Michael song, Faith,†he confessed. “I’d been in the toilet drinking to calm my nerves so I was probably all red and blustery and a little plump and rubbish. I decided I’d be less self-conscious if I held a water bottle and pretended it was my mic,†he added. “It really was terribly embarrassing.†From the man who happily admitted to an “intimate†experience with a Henry The Hoover when he was growing up (well it’s one way of dealing with carpet fluff), this actually sounds pretty sheepish. “I was only 20, I didn’t know what I was doing and I was on drugs,†he blustered. Hmmm, excuses, excuses… Still, it’s not too late for him to make an impression on the musical world – 5ive are only 4our without Sean, so there’s room for a new recruit. How about it Russ? Altogether now, Slam Dunk Da Funk… http://www.orange.co.uk/entertainment/cele...le=celebgossip6  Edited September 27, 200618 yr by Starlight
September 27, 200618 yr I liked Sean, sadly that he's gone. I remember that he didn't do much promo for their third album, but I didn't know that he had left 5ive before they did split. Looking at the promopics it seems that J has lost his hair. There's no picture of him without baseballcap.
September 27, 200618 yr That they have reformed and are recording a new album which has been funded by themselves, or so I heard on the radio.
September 27, 200618 yr Author Can anyone post a pic of Sean? Cant remember him http://edu.kuusamo.fi/maanselka/kuutoset/heidi_kati/skannatut%20kuvat/five_sean.jpg
September 27, 200618 yr Author If their rival westlife can still be succesfull that why can´t 5ive?? back in the 90´s theywere using the same producer "max martin" and some of their ballads sounded similar too. Edited September 27, 200618 yr by Dino
September 27, 200618 yr Is Simon Fuller involved in 5ive's comeback or are they trying to make it own their own? I guess, they could be more successful if they are signed to 19.
September 29, 200618 yr let it be B*Witched, C'est la vie  nah Buffalo G! Naomi might not be able to face the other members of the Lynch family knowing that she's not had a number one UK hit.
September 29, 200618 yr http://edu.kuusamo.fi/maanselka/kuutoset/heidi_kati/skannatut%20kuvat/five_sean.jpg funny if he ends up in blazin squad insted
