This is either the logo set to be unveiled tomorrow or a very skilfully made fake. Draw your own conclusions.

If this actually was the logo, it would've set the relationship between Norway and Sweden back to 1905

Yeah that looks good, better than Malmö. Also judging by the video in that link it looks like the green room will be at the back of the arena again!

Just as I was warming to Christer this year he's gone and forced another big change through has he, and probably one I won't like. All signs point towards changes to the voting system as that has cropped up in several interviews, making it "shorter and more exciting". I could possibly get on board with all the qualifying countries giving their points as usual and then the non-qualifying countries having their individual points grouped into one announcement and the points from them being revealed in reverse order Melodifestivalen-style so we won't know the winner until the very last second. Other voting possibilities could be a new kind of app voting, spokespersons in the arena instead of via satellite (JESC-style), removal of the 50/50 system (more weight to the televote?), a rest of the world vote?

If it wasn't to be voting then it could be pre-recorded backing vocals (saving costs for reducing delegation sizes), increasing numbers on stage to 8 (increasing costs for delegations), China being allowed to enter so they have experience before their Asian version of the contest starts next year.

It's worrying, hopefully it's not too drastic! I'm thinking it's going to be some change to the voting process ripped from Melodifestivalen in some way, let's just hope they don't shorten it too much as lots of viewers do just tune in for the voting however strange that sounds and it is iconic the way it is.

I hope it's not China, don't know how that would constitute "a lot more exciting". The voting is probably the thing that will change, but I hope they don't mess about with it too much as it's one of the best bits!
There seems to be some mixed opinions on the comments on the link to the stage design, I wonder what the finished look will be when it's completed.

I like the sound of that!

It's going to be something along the lines of Ryan's suggestion but not actually that. It's also going to cause TOTAL HAVOC with the loon community, so I'm naturally on board *.*

I love the way the voting is done at Melodifestivalen so if the changes involve that then I can't wait!

Or maybe they've seen the BJSC 18 point system and are implementing that? :kink:

Non-qualifying countries having less screen time in the final / as part of the voting process is not something I would be here for and not something I imagine going down well with certain countries.

Indeed as it is a vital one minute of country promotion for the likes of San Marino, which I imagine is the main point of them entering - but do they have any say in the decisions made and do SVT or the EBU care? I'd like to think they would, maybe the could do the reverse and group all the finalists together instead.

How else would Cyprus be able to promote the refurbishment of Larnaca airport when Christina Metaxa presented votes from there in 2010, or know that Valletta is to be the European Capital of Culture or whatever in several years time?

All semi-finalists will still get to reveal their votes individually, so far as I know.

That would be no good either. We need to see Scott Mills announcing our votes!!!! :kink:

I'm reminded of the fact that SVT still has Tele2 booked for final night. Plus 'exciting' says to me that it's something to do with the voting so maybe there'll essentially be an 'overflow' arena having a massive viewing party and revealing the results from there instead of via satellite (a la JESC). That seems like something the EBU would have had a bee in their bonnets about after Vienna when three of those satellite links failed and the show overran to just shy of four hours.

That's just my thinking though.

I'm sure even the EBU are self-aware enough to know they can't spin 'LET'S DO THE VOTING IN ANOTHER STADIUM' (which would also be *ludicrously* expensive for very little practical gain) as an announcement worthy of hype!
Terrified. They can take anything away but my voting system.
