Wow at Kelly Clarkskin being playlisted wasn't expecting that.

Radio 1 constantly play New York Raining. I always hear it when I have it on so not surprised to see it's had it's run.

 

Looking at the playlist on the whole that's a really good mix of songs! As their is not one song on there I dislike.

Yay for Olly and Kelly Clarkson. Not heard her new one yet but pleasing to see she's still getting mainstream support - more so given its nearly 10 years since 'Since U Been Gone' gave her her breakthrough!

Petite Meller!!! Please let this be a hit.

Shame there's no iLL Blu :( Lonely People is fantastic and sounds like the type of song R1 would love.

I'm wondering whether they're going to playlist the new Hurts song - some kind of Heaven. Its' their most radio friendly song and so catchy. Is it because the original release date was 31 July? I'm confused as to whether it still is or if it's been released already. Radio 1 just don't seem to ever playlist them. :huh:

They certainly did in 2010. Although in 2013 they were snubbed (probably because it had been a long time since their only Top 40 hit, and the fact that they are more of an albums artist rather than singles)

 

I think they are more likely to be playlisted by Radio 2 personally.

Thanks. Though they haven't been playlisted on there either yet. I know people talk about an impact date, but I'm not sure what that means lol I'm assuming it means that a record is available to download now, but is actually officially released at a later date? So I'm wondering whether it won't be playlisted until next month as the date 31 July was mentioned.

 

Disappointing there's no sign if Go by the Chemical Bros yet!

genuinely surprised they are getting begind petite meller (as obvious as it may seem on paper) pretty much guarantees support right down the line too <3

I quite like Royal Blood but their album has been out for 10 months, surely they've had enough singles from it A-listed?

 

I've found it hard to gauge how popular 'Stole The Show' actually is as opposed to just being pleasant enough to not be skipped on Spotify playlists, but this should at least bring it into the top 40. I still think it's a lot better than 'Firestone' so I hope it does well.

 

Also didn't realise 'I Can't Lose' was a single, I assume it won't do anything but I quite like it ('Daffodils' is my favourite I've heard from the album, both good change-ups from 'Uptown Funk' and 'Feel Right' which I've always hated). Radio 1's Kelly Clarkson support is quite surprising, knowing it would get support I'd have liked to see the much better 'Piece By Piece' chosen.

Is Little Monster a re-release? As I swear I heard it all the time on Radio 1 last summer aswell lol. As before I seen it was A listed just there I was wondering why they started to play it again so much and just thought it was because of rock week!

I agree I think after single 3 from an album they should just b list acts but because it's big rock acts like RB they maybe deserve support because they get little support else where. And yes Little Monster was the second release last feb which the indie shows hammered last yr a lot. It was a personal chart no1 for me last feb too
