the mighty HCC! I would be suprised, if not annoyed, if we didn't end up the top 2 this season. If we can afford to leave huddlestone, aluko, etc. on the bench for beating the bookies faves, beat high flying Leicester in the LC and still be waiting on the likes of snodgrass, davies and diomande I should expect we will do quite well. I personally think that relegation has massively helped the make-up of the side; we have let a lot of riff raff go and signed some very exciting players (esp. clucas). exciting times!

Ryan, don't say a word otherwise I'll be after you.

:heehee: What a win! I'd have snapped your hands off for a draw at the beginning of the match, especially with our poor record on Sky cameras but two fantastic goals for us set it up perfectly and luckily Hull didn't create too many chances despite their second half possession.

Hopefully we will look back and see this as a pivotal moment in our season as we go top for the first time, so pleased!

Tell me about it, I don't think I've seen a worse team than Hull when it comes to live TV games. :drama:

You deserved to win tbh, we didn't play to our normal standards. You were favourites to win the league and I still think you will, I just hope that we can put this behind us and still finish second.

Still...sleep with one eye open tonight. <_<

Table is starting to take shape as we near the halfway point. By 4:45pm on Saturday afternoon we could have Middlesbrough, Brighton, Derby and Hull ALL on 44 points, with Derby/Hull in the promotion places due to goal difference! :o

It would be quite an achievement for Brighton to remain unbeaten but not be in the top two. Trouble is, they haven't yet won a game by more than a single goal :(

A lot of fun watching us get smashed 3-0 by Sheffield Wednesday yesterday. Manager needs to sign at least 3 players in the January window (not that we have the money though). We definetly need a good left back, centre back, and a versatile attacking midfielder.

Finally on top of the table, very pleased! We briefly got there for a day in November I think but that was only because we played on a Friday, although once again we are only there because of Middlesbrough's postponement. However, Brighton do seem to be beginning to fade as I expected and Burnley are struggling to keep up so I'm optimistic that it could now be 2 from us, Middlesbrough and Hull. The collapse in the final third of last season is always on my mind, I hope we can keep the amazing momentum going that we have at the moment!

I did have a feeling Brighton would fade once they lost their first game, but I didn't imagine they'd suffer such a sudden turnaround. I wonder if they will end up falling out of the play-offs? Apparently only Brighton and Bolton have not won a game by 2 goals this season, one was top and one is bottom - quite remarkable! It'd be a shame to see Brighton self-destruct though just like we did at the end of last season, so hopefully they can turn things back around again (although not that they catch back up with us again of course!).

Big game for us tomorrow against Middlesbrough, hopefully Hull slip up again this evening to take some pressure off us if we do lose out. I'm hopeful we can at least get a draw though although our record at The Riverside is quite dreadful! :heehee:

A draw between Middlesbrough and Derby tomorrow would continue the perfect start to 2016 football for Hull. ^_^

Brighton were easily the better side today, but somehow forgot to score. It's the first time they've lost three home games in a row since they moved to the Amex :(

Another calamity from Rob Green there which gifted Hull City the win. Glad that Hull didn't get rid of Steve Bruce. Definitely contenders for promotion now.

Maybe it's just a sticky patch for Brighton then, but it did seem like their bubble was about to break and now it has. Shame Hull won, but if you'd given me a guaranteed 2nd place at this point in the season even with a loss to Middlesbrough in the next game a few months ago I'd have snapped your hand off!
Brighton were very much second best against Middlesbrough and deserved to lose. Against Wolves, it was more a case of being unlucky. Of course, no team can expect luck to favour them in every match, so I can't really complain.
My god, so depressing listening to Final Scores reporter on the Birmingham City game. Absolutely no atmosphere whatsoever and our manager refuses to sub off Clayton Donaldson even after they had to stop the game 4 times because of his back
We did a great job there for 80 minutes, but Middlesbrough getting that little piece of absolutely quality for the first goal there just as we did against Leeds last time out. I think we were too shellshocked then and let another in straight away! But still in 2nd place with the hardest fixture out of the way so hopefully we bounce back after FA cup week.

Another defeat for Bristol City, another goal conceded in the last minute, no goals, no shots on target - it's all so predictable now!

Our dreadful summer transfer window has f***ed us over really, losing all the momentum from last season. Only Bristol City can f*** up so badly. We really need to sign some decent Championship players this month, but I'm not holding my breath with our useless board and a manager who seems to have lost the plot.

Anyway, I'm Looking forward to the Bristol derby in League One next season.
