October 2, 200618 yr No, just a bit of credit for actually knowing what the fukk I'm talking about. I was picked to Mod this Forum precisely because of my knowlege of Cinema, as was Tigerboy... And judging by your rather pathetically weak reply to my post, I rest my case.... If you are incapable of actually contributing an intelligent, well constructed argument or case, then I'd rather you didnt post in this forum to be honest. I want the sort of debate on cinema in this forum that exists in Internet Movie Database, and no, I dont think that's asking for too much... Sorry, no offence..... check out www.imdb.com, it may give you some tips in how to actually engage on a more intellectual level.... And here is an example of exactly the sort of well thought out, well argued and lucid analysis that I'm talking about from Consie, one of our most intelligent posters... http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18149 Ive been on that site and all it is is nerds guessing how much there fave films will make at the box office
October 2, 200618 yr Ive been on that site and all it is is nerds guessing how much there fave films will make at the box office  I take it you've not actually been to the reviews/comments part of the IMDb then.... I dunno what part of the IMDb you were on, but there's a hell of a lot more to it than that..... And how is that actually any different to what many posters on BJ do in the Chart Chat section when they try to predict Chart positions for new single releases...Hmmmmmm? Or are they 'nerds' as well...?
October 2, 200618 yr Author I dunno what part of the IMDb you were on, but there's a hell of a lot more to it than that..... i suppose your talking about the star ratings on this point? i wouldnt go off imdb all the time, esp for a lot of hk/korean stuff and the the type of movies playing to the middle of america. there is sometimes a great variation between the quality of the film and what people think on there. ive been caught out a couple of times with really really $h!t things that ive ordered from like movietyme that have got a good rating.

I usually look though the 'best' ones, cos they're usually well written and have pretty well-constructed arguments even if I dont agree with what they say, at least they actually thought about it....
October 2, 200618 yr Author I usually look though the 'best' ones, cos they're usually well written and have pretty well-constructed arguments even if I dont agree with what they say, at least they actually thought about it.... so it was the reviewer's comments at the bottom rather than the star ratings you were all going on about in this thread then. must say the boards are annoying for posting. takes over a min per time
October 2, 200618 yr so it was the reviewer's comments at the bottom rather than the star ratings you were all going on about in this thread then. must say the boards are annoying for posting. takes over a min per time Yes... The star ratings are often a bit, erm, random.... It gets a lot of traffic, but they should really get a better server....
October 2, 200618 yr Author It gets a lot of traffic, but they should really get a better server.... theres some good points to theie forums and some bad points. only loadsa traffic in the v. popular movies, some more intersting films just dead in their areas sometimes.
October 3, 200618 yr I was going to watch Night Of The Living Dead later, I've had it for ages but never got round to seeing it. Has anyone seen it? TBH i think Night is pretty $h!te.... nothing compared to Dawn
October 3, 200618 yr TBH i think Night is pretty $h!te.... nothing compared to Dawn  I watched the 1990 remake the other night. I really liked it, apparantly it's not that different to the 1968 original. No CGI or anything... I still haven't seen the original Dawn Of The Dead. I must get it!

October 4, 200618 yr FYI: IF you cant be bothered going to see the prequel the 4 star sequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre part 2 is on sky cinema2 on sunday night at 10.35 Hmmm, it's okay.... Best thing about it is the totally barmy performance by a clearly drugged off his fukkin' TREE Dennis Hopper.... Which is where I reckon the p***-poor remake stole the idea for the nutty sherriff from, as played by R Lee Ermey (who, quite frankly is about the only good thing about the TCM remake IMO.....)....
October 4, 200618 yr Does anyone know what date Texas Chainsaw the new film will be released in the cinema here in the UK?
