Posted June 29, 201510 yr New artist watch time for Alessia Cara. Canadian singer/songwriter signed to Def Jam. Debut album is apparently coming this year, and if the debut single 'Here' is anything to go by, it should be rather lovely. Been listening to 'Here' a good bit recently. Really is the introvert's party anthem isn't it? Lovely lyrically and melodically. UKp2CrfmVfw
June 29, 201510 yr This is brilliant, it was sent to the last BJSC and I had it down as a wining contender but it came 30th in the semi so didn't qualify :drama: She's such a talent and the melody of this song is so captivating, and it's so relatable I agree, with the story the lyrics tell!
July 2, 201510 yr This is gaining some traction in Canada, and because of that, I gave it another chance and now I'm OBSESSED. Sorry Math :snif:
July 30, 20159 yr https://vid.me/69mo AMAZING performance, such a talent. She has an EP coming out on 28th August too, called Four Pink Walls: 01 Seventeen 02 Here 03 Outlaws 04 I'm Yours 05 Four Pink Walls
September 7, 20159 yr Author So this EP is now out and has been getting wonderful reviews all round. It is slightly more pop than the debut 'Here' would suggest, but seeing as 'Here' is the only song to also appear on her debut album, I think that could be more of the direction she will be taking in the future outside of this small prelude EP. She is meant to be releasing the debut album before year end too. Video's for all the songs are out but 'I'm Yours' and 'Seventeen' are my highlights (despite all 5 songs being brilliant) A3tgV5Uoduo qbIaPaB9LDk
November 30, 20159 yr Author So happy she is in the BBC Sound of 2016 shortlist. This album is the kind of album that keeps giving me a new fav every week. My love for 'Scars to Your Beautiful' right now is unreal
January 7, 20169 yr Author Thrilled for Alessia managing #2 on BBC Sound of 2016. An absolutely fantastic placing for her. With 'Here' rising nicely on Spotify and being C-Listed by Radio 1 this week, hopefully it can become a big hit
January 7, 20169 yr Author I do enjoy 'Wild Things' but I think the song that would keep up momentum, if 'Here' does become a hit, is 'Scars To Your Beautiful'. Wasn't instantly my favourite but has become by far and away the best song on the album for me now and I think it could have hit potential if pushed. Those lyrics
January 10, 20169 yr I heard 'Scars To Your Beautiful', wow. It really shows me what potential she has as an artist. I quite like 'Here', it makes a good use of the 'Glory Box' sample (which is just as well, as it's one of my all-time favourite songs), but it sounds like she's whinging in it and that puts me off liking it completely.
March 15, 20169 yr Listened to the album in full and it's pretty decent. 'Overdose' is the biggest standout to me.
June 19, 20169 yr Finally got round to listening to the full album after seeing her last week and I can't believe how underrated this album is, the album is much more stronger than I had anticipated, the stand outs are 'I'm Yours', 'Overdose' and 'Wild Things.
June 19, 20169 yr I like this song, it's defo a 7/10, nice song, she has one of them voices that you remember
June 28, 20169 yr I heard 'Scars To Your Beautiful', wow. It really shows me what potential she has as an artist.NEW SINGLE UP IN THE BIAAAATTTCCHHHH Em7vc8NWUNY Really hope it doesn't collide with Troye's chances at getting a hit with "Wild" but I can see this getting 90% of the longevity "Wild Things" had.
July 11, 20169 yr The thing that annoyed me about the video is the first word or two of each verse has been cut off.
September 6, 20168 yr Scars To Your Beautiful seems to be doing well in the USA, It's #124 on iTunes, #34 on Spotify and climbing up on radio, it's looking likely she will get another top #50 Billboard hit, it's just a shame that 'Wild Things' never got the top 10 peak it deserved worldwide. I'm Yours final single please and for her to be massive plz.
