I personally find the majority of their music to be non-pretentious; they made 5 albums worth of carefree pop music and even when they were chasing trends (not lights) they were able to add their own "stamp" to it if you will (see Notorious, Faster, Disco Love, Not Giving Up). They also seem to genuinely get along, which as a "stan" is only more appealing. They're genuinely very nice girls and actually put the effort in when it comes to pleasing the fans (e.g. releasing every single on a physical format with an accompanying B-side that wasn't a remix of a previous single). They're also hilarious. They're also so damn pretty.

And Mollie is a Britney fan.

Oh and they received their first number one single in the UK almost 5 years after their debut single was released; someone once said if you don't achieve a number one within the first 5 years of your career, you likely never will..

The music is straightforward catchy pop which is what I enjoy listening to and the girls seem lovely and genuine.

This is fair enough.

It just felt like such an achievement and I think everyone of the girls fans felt like they'd been on that journey with them through the ups and downs to reach that #1 which made it even more special. The SATS forum explodes that week with everyone being so proud and that's another reason everyone here likes them I think.

Scouting For Girls write a lot of their album tracks, and it doesn't mean that they are of a particularly high quality.

Oh, well that's your opinion. I am not going to throw some childish comment down your throat because I like to think that I have more class than that. But if you're here to cause trouble Griff, you will be seen and treated as nothing more than a troll. It's a shame, because I really liked you before you left.

I don't think he was implying anything regarding the quality of the writing. But for many people, myself included, knowing that the artist is contributing more than just vocals adds to their appeal.

DRAG HA DRAG HA

I feel like we need a Saturdays rate of everything tbh.

For all those who couldn't make it on Popjustice.

I've always had a thing for girlgroups I have no idea, so mad that Neon Jungle split! And Parade! I met both... I am cursed... anyway! I found them on YouTube after hearing If This Is Love and Up, started watching all of their flips, it was around the time Issues was released, then I met who is now one of my bestfriends because she was obsessed aswell, we saw shows together and went to buy the singles together from HMV, we used to sing and dance to them, now I enjoy the occasional listen or watch a performance or something, they will always have a place in my heart.
I love pretty much every track on all The Saturdays albums. something I can't say about any other girl group. that's why I love them. plus they have really likeable personalities. but its mostly the music

I like them because they released some great pop songs over the years - that's the main reason! Songs like 'Up', 'Ego', 'Higher' and 'All Fired Up' are, for me, amongst the best ever girl group singles.

They were around at the perfect time for me really; they filled the gap when Girls Aloud went on their hiatus.

I first met them prior to them releasing 'If This Is Love' and they were genuinely lovely people - and every other time I met them. So I was always happy to see them do well, or frustrated when things weren't going too well.

My Top 2 girl groups are actually the Spice Girls and Girls Aloud. The Saturdays & Sugababes battle it out for third place.

The Saturdays better be 3rd tbh ;) or those noodz are redacted x

Late, but you completely got the wrong end of the stick - I was just trying to say that writing your own songs in itself isn't a great reason if they're crap. I like you so it would be a shame if you didn't like me based on that. Which is why I didn't reply until now as I was taken aback when I saw this!

Don't worry Griff, I'm not some mad loon who will hold it against you
