No one else watched? Keisha was amazing!
I think MOBO's are a racist concept, can you imagine the fuss if there was an awards ceremony for white artists and white orientated music ? it would probably result in police enquiry, the CRE calling for prosecutions, cries of racism etc yet there is never any fuss for a black music awards

I forgot she was performing :( What did she perform??

She was wasted really - did a duet with Sam Cooke, although she really shone through as Sam state over and over again!
I heard this was really bad, was it? Apparently the presenting was bad, the performers were bad and no one good turned up

I think they were the winners. I heard the results on Radio 1 earlier and they didn't give the exact award winners in all the catagories so a bit of this is guess work but i'm pretty sure i've got them all right. ^_^

The show was enjoyable enough, nothing spectacualar. Jameila was AWFUL, so was Rhianna and Corrine Bailey Rae.

Also Beverley or Keisha was robbed of the Best UK Female by the one hit wonder Corinne Bailey Rae.

Correct Craig. But let's face it, if you had an awards show for White Music what would it be....? "Best Knitted Arran Sweater In A Folk Music Video", "Best Morris Dancing Act", "Best Skinhead Band".....?

Seriously though The MoBos were a total farce anyway, no mention of bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, whose sound is CLEARLY based upon P-Funk, Rap and Blues (in fact name me ANY Rock band no matter what their skin colour that doesnt base their sound on the Blues....); and, unbelievably, they actually did away with the Jazz Award... I mean...HELLO!!! Jazz... One of the ORIGINAL ruddy forms of contemporary BLACK MUSIC..... Or did these fukkin' MoBO t*ts just forget about people such as Courteney Pine.....?

why do you always keep missing out the reggae cat?

winner Sean paul over Jr Gong

this what i was thinking, i knew they had got rid of some of the categories to make it more commercial.

maybe they droped the Jazz cat as they knew they would probably end up giving it to some 16 year old ginger who's just signed to UCJ and sells loads in tescos

Same thing every year. The MOBOS arent an awards show for black only artists, they dont honour black music, they honour URBAN music. Its not about colour anymore.

I agree with whoever said about white music awards ... I understand the concept of the MOBOs is to celebrate what black music has done and developed ... but if there were awards celebrating white people (essentially) there'd be mega trouble.

And Nate James was ROBBED in best male by Lemar ... surely he hasn't had a record for months, but he always so predictably wins (when Craig David didn't!) when Nate is producing music of a far higher quality...

however it only really about american artists isnt it. maybe they do away with all the uk acts and just relocate to miami

but nate james hasnt sold the records like lemar has done. which is the main point in these things. it's not the venice film festival you know

I see what you're saying ... for me personally the MOBO's and BRIT's should celebrate the artist and their music, and not record sales and numbers... they have gold/platinum disks to tell them they've sold a lot, they don't need a MOBO aswell .. I think we should celebrate the music, not figures...

Just how I look at stuff like the MOBO's though, other people might judge it differently, and that's probably why people voted for Lemar over someone like Nate.

But hey, that's life, people have different opinions!

I enjoyed the show but I dont understand how half of them even were nomiontaed and even won even though the only released 1 song in a whole year ie -

Beyonce won

Jay z won

Keisha nom

Outkast nom

Janet Jackson nom

Beyonce got booed :cheer:
Rightly so IMO ^^ It's so cheeky when you've got the most nominations not to go, but you find the time to attend the London Fashion Week the next day!
