April 16, 20169 yr Author Oh you're right there I can imagine that the BBC don't want to win and the effort they put in certainly shows that, but lots of countries definitely want to win - the Nordics/Scandis, Malta, the Baltics, Hungary, Armenia, Germany, Australia, Russia all definitely want to win considering the amount of effort the likes of these always put into their national/internal selections and/or promotional campaigns so it's just a shame from their point of view that Graham brushes off the amount of effort the majority of Europe put in just because the UK don't. Then again I won't be happy until the UK/Graham/BBC take it as seriously as the likes of Sweden and we know that's never going to happen! :heehee:
April 18, 20169 yr The countries who take it serious have to applauded and for the ones who take it seriously it really stands out. Sweden are a leading example of putting great effort into their entry year after year. Eurovision has its critics but recent winners have built up a nice career in Europe for themselves on the back of the show. If the UK put in the effort and improve the standard and also take Eurovsion seriously, their is an opportunity for someone to achieve a career from it.
April 20, 20169 yr I've only just noticed Joe is from Ruthin, very close to where I used to live in North Wales, thought I recognised that accent! For some reason I thought they were both from Manchester! Nice to have another Welsh representative so soon after Bonnie.
April 22, 20169 yr Debuts at #89 on the sales chart...guess it's not going to chart in the top 75 officially unless people start streaming it, which I guess isn't going to happen in a big way, even after Eurovision.
April 29, 20169 yr Author BBC advert which is actually their best for a while I think (not that there's a high standard set), the impact of the Tolmachevy Sisters still with us! *.* oeMCHOOzboc Behind the scenes: jpzIansiJ4A
April 29, 20169 yr Author I didn't even notice the nod to Ira Losco's glitter from 2002 either there, quite cleverly done actually how they've packed all these memorable moments in even if some are done a bit cringey.
May 12, 20169 yr Thought the boys did a really good performance tonight at the Semi-Final! Do we know or when will we find out when they are performing in the final. If they're in the last 10 acts I can see this going top 15 positioning for the lads. Fingers crossed.
May 12, 20169 yr Author They are guaranteed to be in the second half of the draw between 14th and 26th, the exact position will be announced within the next couple of hours!
May 13, 20169 yr The boys performed well from what we were shown but i just cant get into the song at all, i find it very forgetful and i usually enjoy the UK entries, i much preferred the Uk entry last year.
May 13, 20169 yr The boys performed well from what we were shown but i just cant get into the song at all, i find it very forgetful and i usually enjoy the UK entries, i much preferred the Uk entry last year. Me too!!
May 13, 20169 yr Their performance was great. Vocally, they're brilliant and it's a great pop song. They absolutely do not deserve to be anywhere but the top half of the table. They're easily in my top 3 with Sergey and Dami and it has been many years since I've said that about our entry. Full performance: snpd-8kCyR0 Edited May 13, 20169 yr by PaulM1983
May 13, 20169 yr Yeah they performed well (better than I expected) but I still just can't really get into the song  It's quite bland, "nice" at best. I really can't see them doing better than Molly.
May 13, 20169 yr I had thought that we'd end up accidentally coming bottom 5 but with that draw I think we're in with a shot of about 17th or so. I still have doubts though because I just can't see legions of people all liking this enough to have it in their top 3 or so countries they'd consider voting for and a similar story with the juries which is ultimately what sunk Austria/Germany down to last place last year.
May 13, 20169 yr My mam and dad are under the impression that we'll win because the EU want us to stay.
May 13, 20169 yr I think the EU would rather let us leave than allow our act to win, it would ruin the integrity of the contest if such a crap song were allowed to win (but then I guess the contest survived having El & Nikki winning soooo)
May 13, 20169 yr You do realise that being in the EU is nothing to do with the ESC yes? Tell that to my parents!
May 13, 20169 yr I think the EU would rather let us leave than allow our act to win, it would ruin the integrity of the contest if such a crap song were allowed to win (but then I guess the contest survived having El & Nikki winning soooo) I mean there's only so much they could do if for some reason they did want to fix it for the UK. They gave the UK a great slot but that's about all they can do to please the sort of mouth-breathers who would genuinely have their vote affected by how much other countries liked their song in Eurovision. Don't know why this referendum is happening when something with huge economic and political consequences to a country/continent is genuinely just a question of "Do I feel bitter over other countries not liking us much right now?" for some people.
May 14, 20169 yr I quite like our song. HMV are advertising a CD single but it's out of stock and not seen it anywhere else. Has anyone else been able to buy it? I desperately want a copy.
