September 3, 20159 yr the dancebloc is still slaying all faves right now though, the entire top 3 of last contest was dance music so our impact is strong! *.Β Yeah, all congrats to them, I do hope that isn't the case again this month though, I'm sure your lot will have one at least, it's easy for a couple of them to get through to large numbers of people, but I also need BJSC to be varying to be exciting.Β But then again saying all the top 3 were dance sounds a little more homogenous than it actually was because while Safe With You and Get This Right were fairly ordinary dance, Ponibbi was pretty much nightcore. As long as the top songs aren't all the same type of song and that that type of song changes a bit from month to month I'm cool, because it means everyone's getting their favoured genre some time in the sun.

September 3, 20159 yr This so called 'dancebloc' is too vague to even be called a bloc by this stage. It's like people who still call the Skype group a 'clique'.
September 3, 20159 yr Rockbloc, I'm back. <3Β Yasss, I'm intrigued :cheer: Β I think I'm stepping further and further out of that bloc with each contest with my entries tbh, although next month I'm really tempted to find something that's more the heavier side of that genre, just to test the waters and see how it's received  So many of my potentials I think 'is it too rocky to qualify?' 'will people even grasp onto this kind of genre?' but given the open-mindedness I'm seeing lately- another reason I'm looking forward to this particular contest, I think I'm gonna try it, especially since we don't have that many contests left, why not be a bit risky? B-)

B-)Β Do it. I love heavy rock on the rare occasions it's made an appearance and I of course endorse being risky and thinking outside the normal box of what's been successful before. I have had... mixed results in the past on the few occasions I've had the courage to send something that heavy, and it's normally because I love the song so much I'm not thinking about success and success with those is then the best feeling. Β I've been thinking those thoughts a bit with this entry, but it's also not hard to imagine it without its rock chords, and without those it'd be a pop song. So it might appeal beyond rock fans too. Hoping anyway.
September 3, 20159 yr Count me temporarily in the 'dancebloc', as that's the genre I opted for this month! Obsessed with this song. Yessss Dear god I have to illuminati confirm haven't I  ok well tomorrow morning or evening but nowhere in between ;)
September 4, 20159 yr I feel that a dancebloc vs rockbloc spin-off should be a thing, make BJSC even more competitive than it already is
September 4, 20159 yr i was briefly considering some euphoric black metal but i decided to maybe save that for UP
September 4, 20159 yr ps are these danceblocs / rockblocs etc crowded in the irony i think they are cos if im honest i just send dance most months as a coincidence, not 2 represent cos basically everyone else is sending dance now too
September 4, 20159 yr How is Beaverdonia's hunt going for their BJSC 79 entry, SummerFruits? You'll be missed for this contest.Β Β Amazingly - I might Have found a couple left field, very Beaver winners :o
September 4, 20159 yr Author One day left and all this talk about sending something risky makes me want to send some chillstep. :drama:
September 4, 20159 yr This so called 'dancebloc' is too vague to even be called a bloc by this stage. It's like people who still call the Skype group a 'clique'. It's a relatively small exclusive group who vote for each other in popularity contests and bjsc and have inside jokes and all talk to each other all day every day. So, yes, it IS a clique hen bb.Β 'dancebloc' is indeed too vague tho. like 80% of all entries are usually 'dance' in some form or the other. poor ha deluded tim et al :')

So pressed about our succesful bloccing :rofl:Β (Tbh Dancebloc is just a bit of fun, I don't necesarily vote for these countries, except for Danaelanda cause they always bring the bops, and I'm actually not even considering dance music for the next 3 contests)
September 4, 20159 yr And Rockbloc is my reaction to your bit of fun (and as noted by Pavel, the reality of 80% of all entries fitting into this very wide description of d-a-n-c-e) :kink: Geez Tim, you think I'm actually pressed? You don't know me that well.
September 4, 20159 yr Oh Izzy, keep dreamin', I know everything :kink: Edited September 4, 20159 yr by *Tim
