Just about to give this a listen. Halcyon/Halcyon Days had a few good songs between the two parts but I honestly don't think I'll ever take to her music like I took to Bright Lights when it was just her, a few drums and the guitar. Such a shame but going into this with an open mind!

This is drab. I don't usually care about album length but this is way too long, even for an album as predictable and sell outy as this.
I have like no desire to listen to this :( Such a shame, I loved her first two albums but nothing I've heard this time around has really grabbed me at all.

I'll probably start skipping a few tracks, but I'm really enjoying it at the moment!

What a load of soulless crap.

The only song I genuinely like is aftertaste, feels like something off bright lights meets friendly fires.

Keep on dancing is okay, I like the chorus but this whole about feels so wrong. the vast majority of songs I listen to and I don't believe what she is singing.

Hope this flops

After Three listens,

Standouts to me personally are;

Afrertaste, Codes, SNTWYM, LMLYD, Don't Panic, Army, Lost & Found and Devotion

Great album.

08 Aftertaste

10 Something in the Way You Move

08 Keep On Dancin'

09 On My Mind

09 Around U

09 Codes

07 Holding On For Life

10 Love Me Like You Do

04 Don't Need Nobody

08 Don't Panic

09 We Can't Move to This

09 Army

08 Lost and Found

08 Devotion

09 Scream it Out

Plenty of those 9s could become 10s. So much quality here. Don't Need Nobody is total crap mind you, but the bonus tracks more than make up for it.

And it's all surprisingly uncatchy for a sell-out album.

This era is gonna flop.

Did you see the interview with Savan Kotecha about them just having the melodies done already when she came to them? It was so ugh.

And it's so loooong, where is the quality control? You can tell they just decided to put everything remotely decent on the album just to make sure everyone liked at least one song, but I'd take an album with 10 moderately good songs over an album with 2 excellent ones and 18 crap ones.

I'm loving a lot of the album tracks, especially Keep On Dancin', Aftertaste, and Lost and Found. Something In The Way You Move is the standout on the album for me though.
Aftertaste for next single (unless it's this album's 'My Blood')

this album is amazing, i'm so glad she's delivered with the content unlike certain artists. not a single bad track.

devotion sounds like a hybrid of something you would've heard on lights combined with a song reminiscent of loreen's heal and this obviously is a recipe for amazingness. codes and scream it out are so beautiful and then you have tracks like keep on dancin' and don't need nobody which have hints of urban edginess to them which i think really suits ellie. :cheer: and then of course there's quirky ellie shining through on tracks like i do what i love and lost and found which both remind me of her debut.

stanning way too hard for her right now

{ps around u gets to me too much}

What a ridiculously good album.

Such a shame it seems to be underperforming, apparently?

It's an amazing listen. I have the Target edition, so yes, it's a bit of a drag sometimes when you have about 25 songs, but there are still so many great songs that I couldn't really care.

I think for what seems to be a "sell-out" album, she is still holding up a bit - which might be the problem of some songs. She's trying to get away from her original sound, but clearly doesn't want to alienate her fans so she keeps coming back to it, sometimes even within a same song. I don't mind, personally, but I can see why it would bother some people.

Anyway, I hope it managed to sell in the long-term. It's a great album.

Well it's not underperforming in the US - on target for 50k+ there.

From Aftertaste right through to Love Me Like You Do is a bloody insane run of pop songs. Ellie delivered big time.

Spotify has finally let me stream this after playing up the last two days. It's hard to remember which tracks I liked as the album was too extensive in one sitting. The stand out tracks for me are Don't Need Nobody, Devotion and The Greatest.
Aftertaste and Something In The Way You Move need to be singles. Not a fan of Army being a single.

There seems to be no consistency/cohesion to this album or whatsoever. It's just like a bunch of average to semi decent songs all with different stylings tacked together.

Not a bad album but it feels like she has lost herself, and it lacks personality.

I was dreading to listen to the album after the disappointment that "On my mind" was and all the comments on here, but I did listen to it and it's f***ing GLORIOUS !

I am addicted to this album, like wow, I'm blown away. Wasn't expecting that.
