Hey Liam just enough time for a quick comment this week.

 

I'm really not liking little Mix new single. the Last single and promo track ate much better.

 

Run Away With Me still holding its own. I am extremely disappointed with how it's performed Officially, like it legit deserves to be top 5!! :cry:

A brilliant selection of new entries this week :D

 

'Love Me Like You' is easily the most instant Little Mix song to date, I love it already! Had it been held back, I have no doubt it would have debuted at No. 1, though I'd still like to think it can go Top 5 eventually. In any case, I can see it hanging around for ages.

 

The Naughty Boy song is good, just not quite as amazing as everyone seems to be claiming. Beyoncé sounds flawless on it though!

 

I was a bit unsure about 'Alive' when I first heard it, as a Sia fan I was even slightly disappointed - but it certainly does grow with a few listens. My only real problem with it is that she oversings it a little, especially towards the end of the song. I'm really pleased it's doing well for her though!

 

'Writing's On The Wall' was also very instant for me, I think it actually makes for a great Bond theme. The chorus is especially great. Glad it's going to be No. 1, and I never thought I'd say that about a Sam Smith song!

 

'Levels' is also excellent, great production, great vocals from Nick, and very catchy. I always find myself turning up the radio when it comes on!

I do quite like Alive but not sure on those squeals towards the end, I can see what she's trying to do by portraying emotion and I do think it works but it kind of just hurts my ears and I imagine it hurts her voice too :lol: A nice song but one that has to be turned down for a few seconds here and there :lol:

 

SO disappointed with Levels. Jealous was a fantastic single and Chains was pretty great too but what on Earth is this as a follow up? The song itself is pretty cheesy anyway and than that purely irritating b-b-b-bop noise is the final straw, he has so much better already on the album waiting to ne released :(

 

In love with LMLY, it reminds me of a musical threatre type song and I love that genre anyway, mix that with a bit of Stooshe and Christmas and you have a winner. It better not do a Body On Me and never make the top 20 officially :(

Oh no! Hope it grows on you! I liked 'Black Magic' but it was too radio-friendly to become one of my favourites and I haven't heard 'Hair'. 'Love Me Like You' has got something really special about it in terms of vocals and the 60s girl band vibes.

 

I'm pretty shocked at the under-performance for 'Run Away With Me'. I know 'I Really Like You' was an unexpected hit but the two are pretty similar so I don't see why people weren't interested in it. It seems to have had good radio support, but perhaps was left a little too late.

Yeah I think I agree with you there; was just overwhelmingly fantastic on first listen. I think it'll do fine chart-wise - I believe it is already just outside the iTunes Top 10 and I think radio will really hammer it a la 'Black Magic', plus they'll no doubt get a slot on the X Factor results, so long-running Top 10 seems likely.

 

It's perhaps not the second-coming but I think it's the exact comeback single Naughty Boy needed. Honestly thought we'd seen the last of him given only 'La La La' really caught the public's interest, unless the feud with Zayn from 1D has had a helping hand.

 

'Alive' was pretty instant for me, not as much as Little Mix's song, but now I absolutely can't get enough! I love the singing towards the end, particularly due to how the vocals break, which should mean it's terrible, but it always works with Sia and it's made her voice instantly recognisable and adds tones of emotion to the songs she sings. Hope this can make a big U-turn in the charts.

 

Glad you like the Bond theme, a lot seem to be really hating it, mostly because they don't like Sam Smith to begin with I think. It does the job well for me; fantastic production and emotive vocals.

 

'Levels' was a bit too generic for me at first but it has really grown on me - I too find myself turning it up on the radio! Not on the same... level as 'Jealous' though.

Yeah I got Stooshe vibes from it too, as well as your 60s girl bands. Still, it doesn't stop it from being their most instant single since I think 'Wings'.

 

I can't picture Adele singing 'Alive', and I agree even she couldn't triumph Sia; her's are a little too technically perfect whereas Sia's breaking vocals really give it the emotion.

I actually have it turned up full blast! :lol: I know what you mean thought, and yes I'd imagine it doesn't do her voice wonders! I'm sure she needs a lot of attention paid on her vocal chords.

 

I've not heard anything else on the album but I suppose after 'Chains' flopped, the record company must be desperate for a hit and thought 'Levels' would do the trick. I think it's catchy enough and I'm enjoying it for now but I'm aware it's not going to have the lasting appeal 'Jealous' has had.

 

Yep, definitely a song that has taken many musical influences yet the result is something really refreshing instead of dated! It does sound like Christmas which will probably help it be a long running hit - I'm definitely expecting a Top 10 peak, especially if it gets an X Factor performance. I think where 'Body On Me' went wrong was leaving it too long for the video release.
