September 26, 200618 yr Author I'm gonna do mine leaving out all the intros etc 1. Get It Out Me - 10/10 - My 2nd fav song on the album 4. Do It 2 Me - 10/10 - EASILY my fav song on the album, it's just so amazing and fast and the beat is just fantastic... 5. Call On Me - 10/10 - I used to hate this but it really grows, but a weak lead single. 8. Daybreak - 9/10 - Another fab song, this is a near 10! 9. Enjoy - 9/10 - Another catchy tune 10. Take Care - 10/10 - Another favourite of mine, a ballad with a nice atmosphere 11. Love 2 Love - 7/10 - Worst song on the album, it's not bad, just not memorable! September 27, 200618 yr My Review 1. 20 Y.O Intro: A great way to introduce the album, with the theme of WHYDFML at the beginning, and then the sound of chimes in the background while Janet tells us briefly how much she has achieved in her recordings. An intro with meaning 7/10 2. So Excited ft Khia: The word Khia is enough to send shivers down anyones spine nowadays, but you cant imagine anyone else fitting into the song. Very much similar to the Damita Jo song 'All Nite' this is modern day Janet at her up-tempo best, showing us that she's just as capable as the Beyonce's and Rihanna's 9/10 3. Show Me: A great follow up from So Excited, Janet brings in some crunk and electro elements and is almost like SE part 2. Janet also talks about her favourite subject..sex! 8/10 4. Get It Out Me: An Oriental/hip hop club banger, and IMO should have been the first single, by now, the listener should realise that Janet means business with this album! 9/10 5. Do It To Me: A throwback to old skool soul, with a romantic-street styling. However, the hip hop beats arent far away. Its good, but kind of the same as the past tracks. 7/10 6. This Body: Crunky synths open the track, followed by some electric guitar. Pure filth..and its awesome! 10/10 7. 20 Part 2: Nice enough interlude, and possibly opens a enw chapter to the album with its harmonies 6/10 8. With You: The first slow track on the album, a better version of 'Call On Me' A Great Janet Ballad 8/10 9. Call On Me ft Nelly: The first single off the album, and it doesn't do it justice on first glance. However the album feels seperated by interludes if you notice, and this song is a good representation fo the ballads on the album. The listener gets the feeling that it tries to be something that it isnt. Its by no means a Janet classic, but it isnt really terrible either 7/10 10. 20 Part 3: Gentle synths and Janet talking to one of her closest friends, brings in the next part of the album 5/10 11. Daybreak: More uptempo than the last section, but more relaxed than the first. Some classy chimes and a radio friendly beat open the song, while Janet happily sings along as if she has no problems. One of my album highlights, if not my favourite 10/10 12. Enjoy: Another throwback track, and another greast track which Janet doesnt disappoint on, a great major tone song 8/10 13. 20 part 4: A typical R&B love tune with rain in the background with Janet on the ohone. Meh 5/10 14. Take Care: Probably the best ballad on the album, it has some great emotion in it and although it uses a lot of old tricks, it also has some surprises in it 10/10 15. Love 2 Love: IMo the worst song on the album, kinda forgettable and the beginning isnt very user friendly. Janet doesnt sound too good on this at all 4/10 16. 20 part 5: Ahh the chimes returns for the outro, and another great piece of history from Janet herself. ''Who is she'' she asks? However, dont turn off after the music ends, coz an extra interlude will reveal more! 8/10 17. Roll Witchu: Decent enough mid-tempo track, nothing mind-blowing though 7/10 18. Days Go By: A great overall song, with great composotion and great vocals, a grand way to finish the album 10/10
October 3, 200618 yr I've yet to buy the album! I hope Janet has moved on and not trying to be too raunchy with her lyrics, that just ends up sounding wrong and off putting but i'm looking forwards to it cos' i really liked Damita Jo! :)
