January 21, 20169 yr Author Barei HAS to win! Something typically un-Spanish is exactly what they need I think. 0aCTdNHCTAk I like the Electric Nana song too, reminds me of Amelia Lily.
January 21, 20169 yr Author Xuso is the 'BUY IN A SWEDE' trend at its MOST REDUCTIVE Well it is written by Peter Boström.
January 23, 20169 yr Obviously the best song is going to be the candidate for Eurovision: Victorious. Also Xuso Jones is the one with more public support and its the better known singer of the whole in the country. It has been in the top 5 of iTunes Spain for a few days already. Barei is not even within the top 150. At this moment: #4 Xuso Jones - Victorious #33 Maverick - Un Mundo Mas Feliz #34 Electric Nana - Now #50 Salvador Beltran - Dias de Alegria #143 Maria Isabel - La Vida Es Solo Una
January 24, 20169 yr I'm obsessed with Say Yay! now, and it is favourite to win on Betfair on odds of 4/5 ahead of Xuso on 9/4 and María on 11/4! The reason Barei wasn't in the top 150 on iTunes was because she doesn't have a record label so therefore it takes longer for her to actually even release her song. However, she has confirmed that she will be able to do so tomorrow so hopefully that impacts iTunes, not that it is a major indicator in Spain anyway.
January 26, 20169 yr Great news for Barei, even if iTunes doesn't mean anything in Spain. Xuso only managed to peak at #4 so it still shows some promise! However, Loreen and Edurne are on the professional jury (the result will be decided by a televote, professional jury and international jury apparently) and Loreen has the connection to Xuso via the songwriters (and Edurne too!), while Edurne is very good friends with Xuso judging by him going to visit her as seen on her Instagram page. Hopefully there's no bias...
January 27, 20169 yr The Spanish Eurovision national final has made the Daily Telegraph! :o Eurovision 2016: Spain torn between national pride and chances of winning in its song choice
January 28, 20169 yr Running order announced: 1. Maverick – Un mundo mas feliz 2. Barei – Say Yay! 3. Xuso Jones – Victorious 4. Salvador Beltran – Dias de alegria 5. Maria Isabel – La vida solo es una 6. Electric Nana – Now The hot favourite in the death slot :cheeseblock: I can see Maria Isabel winning this and finishing at 24th place in Stockholm. January 28, 20169 yr I'd love Barei to win but I can't see it getting on the left hand side of the scoreboard. I'm sure it will slay the OGAE votes though! ^_^
February 1, 20169 yr (Ryan can’t be here to post this but in my infinite charity I said I’d chuck this in as a placeholder) TONIGHT'S NATIONAL FINAL... http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z369/RC741/Eurovision%20Logos/Spain_zps1851f9dd.png SPAIN Objectivo Eurovision 1st February 2016 Begins at 9:30pm in the UK, 10:30pm in Spain and Central Europe The show is scheduled to last an amount of time that will be run over because this is Spain Watch the selection at Eurovision.tv or via the official RTVE webcast – that Ryan will be editing into this post as my internet is terrible Running Order Click ♫ to listen to the studio versions of each song! 01 | Maverick – Un Mundo Mas Feliz 02 | ♫ Barei – Say Yay 03 | ♫ Xuso Jones - Victorious 04 | Salvador Beltran – Dias de alegria 05 | Maria Isabel – La Vida Solo Es Una 06 | Electric Nana - Now Voting The voting will consist of one round of both a national and international jury and televoting but the exact percentage breakdown has not been confirmed. Potential Winners? Xuso Jones goes into this as the favourite. Xuso has the biggest name recognition among the contestants and some have speculated that the international jury members, one of which is a close friend of Xusos (Edurne, last year’s Spanish entrant) and another has a connection to Xuso’s songwriters (Loreen, the Swedish winner in 2012). However, he’s not out of the woods as fan favourite Barei and JESC 2004 Winner Maria Isabel are just behind him and should Xuso not be able to manage it live then one of them could well take it Things to Look out for •Hastily Inserted Spanish lyrics into songs that were written in English after TVE told all the contestants they had to include some Spanish – in ‘Say Yay’ you can just about hear it in the backing vocals
February 1, 20169 yr Author Unable to watch live tonight as it's far too late for little old me, but I hope to wake up at 5am to a Barei victory.
February 1, 20169 yr Barei has just topped the jury vote but Xuso and Salvador (?!) are not far behind!
February 1, 20169 yr Yay! Sounds excitable/cute on first listen. Can't really call how that's going to do either, it's fairly strong yet could go either way depending on how the performance comes across.
February 2, 20169 yr Was watching the performances as they got uploaded to YouTube on my train journey home, and then following the voting on ESC Forum. Very glad Barei won, such a feel-good story to after listening to her interview with Wiwibloggs the other day and how hard she has to work being an independent artist - I believe the other 5 all have labels behind them. Maverick was a pleasant surprise, much preferred him out of the two male Spanish-language songs - he gave his an up-to-date stage presentation unlike Salvador. And it seems the in-studio jury and televote agreed, I don't know what the international jury were thinking but worth bearing in mind a UK jury was part of that. Electric Nana was having the time of her life through the show, I love her! María brought solid vocals too especially considering the choreography she was doing! I actually liked all the songs, possibly bar Salvador. Fantastic entry anyway, although my gut feeling says this is doing an Ann Sophie in Stockholm. Very radio-friendly song but perhaps without a televoting pull and therefore ranking in the middle of many votes but not being a favourite for anyone. That said Barei could do a Kurt Calleja with those dance moves and charm the televoters!
February 2, 20169 yr It is interesting that Barei defied TVE and abandoned using the Spanish at all in her live performance yesterday! She had already defied them a little bit when they suggested (demanded) she, Xuso and Nana put Spanish into their songs and Barei only put a couple of lines of backing vocals in Spanish - but that little bit of Spanish was changed back into the original English in the performance yesterday. Good on her I say! gqIsmOX0eV0
February 2, 20169 yr International jury names and voting splits are all available here: http://www.rtve.es/television/20160202/pan...n/1295121.shtml Surprise surprise the UK international jury were the only jury either international or in-studio, or the televote in the whole show that didn't have Barei at least top 2!
