December 8, 20159 yr Quite enjoy Second Hand Heart actually and Get Stupid is ok. Show Me Love is very good but only thing is it's the countless samples/remixes of those lyrics  Roads is good but Phenomenal (and pretty much all of Eminem's other songs for the past two years) aren't so good. Bars and Melody can GTFO as far as I'm concerned especially ruining Hopeful
December 8, 20159 yr Author Before we get to our top 10, here are a few songs that I expected to hate, but have ended up loving: AWOLNATION - "I Am" QLZkf6HvO2Q I have said this many times: "Sail" is utter SHITE. Not like the others were a bit of an improvement (maybe "Kill Your Heroes" but that's it). So I was pretty scared when I found out he was going to be releasing again. The singles from Run didn't have me running for the hills. "Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)" was okay, but he struck gold with this song. It's probably the only single that has a proper chorus, which HM (BW) lacked, and the video is simplistic but priceless. Sam Hunt - "House Party" 1FhRhzAWzLA I was expecting to hate Sam Hunt forever after "Take Your Time" was released (it's still to come!) but then I heard this song in a commercial for the CMA's and I kinda liked it. Then I found out it was Sam Hunt. HOW DARE HE.
December 9, 20159 yr Next songs to get rekt are... Hi Cody 11.) Fetty Wap f/Monty - "My Way" :puke: 12.) Lawson - "Roads" 13.) Bars & Melody - "Keep Smiling" :puke: 14.) Stevie McCrorie - "Lost Stars" :puke: 15.) Sam Feldt f/Kimberly Anne - "Show Me Love" :puke: 16.) Florida-Georgia Line - "Anything Goes" NH 17.) Sam Hunt - "Leave The Night On" NH 18.) Birdy - "Wings" This is beautiful :( 19.) Eminem - "Phenomenal" 20.) Nick Fradiani - "Beautiful Life" NH
December 9, 20159 yr Hi Slayberry Aw, I'm a big fan of Writing's On the Wall too, I love his voice anyway and I really came around to him, especially with his ballads which I initially found boring. He makes them sound very 'pretty'. Wet Dreamz is really good! The production is fantastic on it and I think he's a great lyricist. Didn't know it was so overplayed in the US though, you must have so many radio stations! :o I love Kick the Dust Up, I love the little riff bit  He has a nice voice though, probably my favourite country artist even though everything isn't great. Lots of stuff I don't know but I guess you'd urge me not to check them out either
December 9, 20159 yr Author Before we get to our top 10, here are a few songs that I expected to hate, but have ended up loving: Kelsea Ballerini - "Dibs" e3lCzEOy5xs Following the success of "Girl In A Country Song" (IMO one of the ultimate country feminist anthems), I was thirsting for more young female country acts, so I was unaware that Kelsea was the next big thing in country. In fact, I thought she was going to be another throwaway teenybopper singer who only got airplay on Radio Disney (which is half true), so I didn't have any expectations hearing "Dibs" for the first time. Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE her now, but I was originally scared for her content. Hearing it for the first time was an experience. I liked it so much that I had a higher expectation for "Love Me Like You Mean It" and when I heard that for the first time (which wasn't in BJSC), I was blown away. But this was the one song that got me into her. Thank God for female country singers. I think "Square Pegs" might be the next single. George Ezra - "Cassy O'" ubztYMkI3fY "Budapest" has only grown on me a few months ago and I still think "Blame It On Me" is a bit boring. Plus his voice makes me cringe whenever he hits anything over a C4. Idk, I just don't think his voice is built for those notes. "Cassy O'" was a bit of a surprise because for once he used those high(-ish) notes well. I still think he needs to work on that moderate alto register, but overall it was a surprise. Harry, do not get your hopes up, I'm not that big of a fan. Yet.
December 9, 20159 yr I think George Ezra does have some good songs (my fave from his is Blame It On Me I find it quite an enjoyable song) Cassy O is quite fun too.
December 9, 20159 yr Author Wet Dreamz is really good! The production is fantastic on it and I think he's a great lyricist. Didn't know it was so overplayed in the US though, you must have so many radio stations! :oAmerica has a ton of different formats. CHR/Pop is basically the Capital/Radio 1 in terms of formats and Rhythmic (the main format for J. Cole) is Radio 1 Xtra. Just a question: do you guys want me to make a little 2015 megamix Pop Danthology-style for this countdown? I can't guarantee that it will be finished too early considering I have finals next week but I can guarantee that it will be finished by the end of this countdown.
December 9, 20159 yr What is WINGS DOING HERE CODY??? :drama:   One of my favourites of the year :( Also love Roads and like Phenomenal but the rest are rubbish!
December 11, 20159 yr Author Now it's time to get into the top 10... #10 WORST: Cameron Dallas f/SJ3 - "She Bad" PqCXyc2BO0w Ugh, Cameron Dallas. The original Vine f*ckboy. Whoever gave him permission to actually attempt a singing career needs to be euthanized ASAP. When I saw that this was on iTunes, my eyes rolled so far back into my head that I may have actually started seeing the past. Take an incredibly annoying dude from Vine who only gets a bunch of followers for looking cute, and then have him attempt basic pop. I mean, that sorta happened when Shawn Mendes released "Life Of The Party", but the difference was that Shawn had talent and eventually made decent songs. Also I don't know who the hell this SJ3 entity is. Maybe it's Jack & Jack. If so, then I'm very disappointed in them. Anyway the song is pretty forgettable, that is if you even make it five seconds without turning it off, let alone make five seconds without losing IQ points. It's so incredibly basic, a piece of stale bread can make better lyrics.
December 12, 20159 yr She Bad was terrible. I actually quite like him as an internet personality (and maybe have a lil bit of a crush :P) but the song was unlistenable. Vine stars should stay well away from music though, even Jack & Jack who really haven't done great stuff either :/ Edited December 12, 20159 yr by Josh.
December 12, 20159 yr ^ don't forget the exception, Shawn Mendes *.* Oh yeah I remember listening to She Bad and well, it's bad :') A deserved appearance here haha.

Jack & Jack are okay, I just feel that their stuff is too teenybopper for their own good. "Wildlife" is amazing and "Groove" is nice, plus their duet with Madison Beer was decent. Anyone else from MagCon should just gtfo for all I care.
December 12, 20159 yr Author #9 WORST: Nicky Jam f/Enrique Iglesias - "El Perdon (Forgiveness)" oOyx3yFANXA Enrique Iglesias recently won back our hearts with the infectious "Bailando", which was a bit of a reversion back to his songs of old. Considering I enjoyed "Bailamos" to an extent, seeing its future sister song smash was kind of a delight, especially since it was a bit of a sleeper hit. Him trying to recreate that out of adding his name into another song? No baby no. "El Perdon" is a cheap "Bailando" at best, and it doesn't even encapsulate the best of the Latin genre. To be honest, I wasn't really here for that when it first started out. Then it got radio airplay. In fact too much of it than what the charts suggested. The Billboard EOY Hot 100 put this in the mid-90's and it was probably the only song that flopped chart position-wise that even landed a spot on the position. And so I say to that: why?
December 13, 20159 yr Awww I love El Perdón, extremely catchy and a much better version of Bailando for me (that was TOO everywhere). Agree with a good number in the top 20 so far, Roads & Lost Stars both objectively awful but I couldn't *hate* per sé because they sank without a trace. Phenomenal was awfully disappointing given the name plus it featured in one of my fabourite films this year.
December 14, 20159 yr Author #8 WORST: Jamie Lawson - "Wasn't Expecting That" Y-lI_tgQMMk This was okay at first. I thought it was nice for the format the radio station that was playing it was in, and it was a kinda random entry. Then it grew less and less and less... you get the idea. It's that forgettable. I don't know what it is with male guys with guitars but once American Idol began to circle jerk around that type of musician since David Cook I just couldn't. The only one I approve of is Ed Sheeran and even he puts out utter crap sometimes. Anyway back to this song. It's boring and pedantic, and often times I forget how it goes and when you think it might have just disappeared, here it is again, nearing that top spot in the UK Official Charts. Like, why? There's literally nothing special about it.

Again I dont get the hate for this I find it lovely and the lyrics are haunting....People hate on Singer-songwriters but I think they are poetic and honest. December 15, 20159 yr Hi Cody Wasn't Expecting That is gorgeous and you are wrong, so sweet and surprisingly catchy, I prefer Ed's tracks but it's still a lovely bad imo. :o
December 15, 20159 yr Author Well "Wasn't Expecting That" makes me want to fall asleep. Speaking of which: #7 WORST: Luke Bryan - "Strip It Down" G2BWyY4B36Y Now this would sound okay if it were an R&B song. But Luke Bryan? What in God's name did I do to deserve that? It sounds like a country song trying to pass as R&B (except hey, let's replace the rosé with whiskey and my bachelor pad will be a giant barnyard off the outskirts of Memphis), and country trying to be something else that's waaaaaaay left field is not going to work. Look at "Cruise" and "This Is How We Roll". Precise examples of crimes against music. As if "Play It Again" wasn't majorly annoying. Luckily for him, he doesn't have the worst country song of the year. Two more abominations are coming up soon.
