December 24, 20159 yr Hi Cody Gutted to see Photograph here, I'm not sure if I can breathe despite your attempts to keep me alive. It's so beautiful! Ed is so under-appreciated online, glad he's successful amongst the public. Edited December 24, 20159 yr by Josh Josh Binks
December 24, 20159 yr Author And the #2 worst song is... #2 WORST: Usher f/Juicy J - "I Don't Mind"" nSKUXqJ5l1k Usher's return to relevance was a bit shaky at first as every single one of his comeback singles flopped in the US, except for this. And I see why: it does seem a bit catchy. And that's the crux of the problem. The song just doesn't seem to go anywhere other than the trash can when you realize that it packs in a severe case of diminishing marginal value. Of course, like any other song that seems to get a lot of recognition in the US, it takes nearly six months post release for it to chart in the UK, and by that time I was just so sick of it that I simply just couldn't when it charted. YOU'RE BETTER THAN THIS USHER. Use that experience that got you hired for The Voice. - HARRY AND JOSEPH AGOG. #1 WORST: James Blegh - "Hold Back The River"" mqiH0ZSkM9I I'm sorry, Harry, but being with me takes some consequences and sadly, this is one of them. Like, I honestly don't know where to begin. It seemed weird that this song kinda caught on after being under most people's radar for the past few weeks am until all of a sudden it just shot straight up the charts. And it NEVER. WENT. AWAY. I guess you can make the same argument about stuff like "Stitches" (and maybe "Budapest" but I wouldn't be saying that this time last year), but tbf that had a LOT more appeal outside Shawn just being another WGWG. And that is what this song basically is. We've had stuff like this with "Riptide", and I don't know why the UK public tends to circlejerk around these things but it's a bit astounding. "Hold Back The River" is your standard Adult Alternative song that is just waiting to smash in the US. Guitar? Check. Chorus that drones on and on? Check. Voice that sounds like one of those sitcom motivational speakers that you would find in work conventions? Check. That eerie feeling that you'll just be hearing it in elevators, restaurants, and shopping malls for the rest of your life? DOUBLE CHECK. These types of songs are really hit and miss, and most of the time, it's a miss. So clearly this was never gonna fall into my favor. And it just had to smash in the UK. Talk about adding insult to injury, Official Charts Company. Luckily enough, it didn't have that kind of Cinderella story in the US, but it did usher in a new age of MOR littering the charts like they were gremlins. You just add water and they multiply. Thank god we have some Ed songs that have a more widespread appeal. - Next Up: The Best Videos of 2015. No, they're not gonna be ranked, I'm just gonna list them off.

December 25, 20159 yr good to see MOR with a hat  at #1 here, the song was literally inescapable for a while here so it grew off me fast.
December 25, 20159 yr A good call on the #1. I really enjoy the Usher track (much better than his output last year at least) and the way you described Hold Back The River is pretty spot on even if it wasn't my most hated song of the year (Let It Go is worse for starters...) Probably the hate chart I most agree with of the ones I've seen so far!
December 26, 20159 yr 'Hold Back The River' is ok D: BUT now that that's done, I am excited for the love chart, don't disappoint Berry
December 26, 20159 yr IDM isn't THAT bad, surely? :P Talking of songs I don't mind: your #1 hate  I think I've heard it enough times on the radio to not want to hear it again tho tbh.
December 28, 20159 yr Author THE BEST VIDEOS OF 2015 *Disclaimer: This may or may not be the order of preference. Okay, maybe the top two, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.* Criteria: The video must have been released in 2015, so as much as I LOVE the "Blank Space" video, it's not gonna appear here. :( Not every song that appears here has charted in my chart. PART 1: Justin Bieber - "Love Yourself" oyEuk8j8imI So Justin Bieber decided to pull a Beyoncé and release music videos to every song on his album, with the difference that every video is actually available on YouTube. I really admire videos with contemporary dancers and very intricate choreography. Not saying the synchronized yet messy masterpiece that is Fifth Harmony's choreography is shit, but there's something about this that draws me in. It's basically "Stay The Night" without the usual epileptic seizure effects Zedd puts in his videos, so I couldn't say no. Tove Lo - "Talking Body" AzRyxGBGiAE This single and it's explosive rise into the charts deserves an equally explosive video, and I really did think this was it. For a video that ~looks~ like it has been filmed in one shot, it's pretty convincing, when in reality it's probably another one of those "Someone Like You"/"Never Say Never" by The Fray type of videos that are one-shot... save for one or two scenes. That party scene and the shot of her on the back of the motorcycle are two of the most gif-worthy moments on there. Little Mix - "Black Magic" MkElfR_NPBI OKAY FIRST CAN WE APPRECIATE HOW JADE MOTHERFUCKING THIRLWALL JUST LOOKS SO HOT IN ANY OUTFIT EVEN AS A NERD. http://i.imgur.com/YCQmusu.gif YAS. WERQ. marry me Okay, metaphorical orgasm over. But really, this is Revenge Of The Nerds meets Wizards Of Waverly Place and it could not have gone more swimmingly than this. The premise of the video is that the girls are tired of being pushed around but the social hierarchy that governs and classifies the high school student body based on looks rather than personality, something I've now realized I should champion, and what better way to do that than have a spell book courtesy of Every Witch Way drop on your head and perform some kind of illuminati ritual to gain some super cool wizard powers. As someone who's had people try to cheat off me during tests (especially during my freshman year chemistry class though granted, half of my classmates are dumbasses), I feel for this video. I would like Little Mix to blow me a kiss and turn me into a chick magnet in ten seconds flat.
December 28, 20159 yr Three really good videos there epically Tower Lo my faves of the bunch (The song appears on R1 exactly as I type this SLAY) I also love contempary dancing

Okay, maybe the top two, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.* PART 2: I'll describe the next set of videos in two words. Imagine Dragons - "I Bet My Life" 4ht80uzIhNs Dane DeHaan. (Or maybe Dylan Sprayberry. I think he's in this. God I can't choose. Honestly I think they're fighting over me.) Tiesto & The Chainsmokers - "Split (Only U)" klIF0nhsxxM Zombie Tiesto. New Politics - "Girl Crush" 4f-QHwx8eeI SOREN'S FACE. http://45.media.tumblr.com/ad7b6dd158e371c1c9a5e0af31124872/tumblr_nz05mxIKn51r6e7jto2_500.gifhttp://45.media.tumblr.com/637328d09b31fd9e22ee94933c09d0c4/tumblr_nz05mxIKn51r6e7jto5_r1_500.gif (aka probably your reaction to my New Politics stanning)
December 29, 20159 yr Talking Body and Black Magic both have incredible videos, easily 2 of the best of the year
December 29, 20159 yr Author Thanks to everyone for the kind words so far! THE BEST VIDEOS OF 2015 *Disclaimer: This may or may not be the order of preference. Okay, maybe the top two, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.* PART 3: Carly Rae Jepsen - "I Really Like You" qV5lzRHrGeg T: "I'm pregnant." C: "Oooookay." T: "Just kidding". The premise of someone else lip-syncing the entire song has been done for ages (see Clean Bandit's "Rather Be" and "Stronger" videos), and this is one example of how that usually works out well. Especially if the one lip-syncing is Tom Hanks. Yeah, he does an amazing job throughout the video, but what really makes this whole is the flash mob scene after Tom and Carly shoot the breeze in the dressing room. Then Justin Bieber appears out of nowhere. Madonma f/Nicki Minaj - "Bitch I'm Madonna" 7hPMmzKs62w Speaking of cameos, this video has so much of them. In fact, there's so much going on in this video that you have to replay the video a few more times just to catch everything in it, but by then it's too late - the craziness has already hypnotized you and sent you to its world. It's like what Stefon of SNL would describe a party: "New York's hottest club is Bitch I'm Madonna. Located in some kind of abandoned apartment complex, open the door and you can see Madonna strutting in so many different colors it looks like those unicorns from Adventure Time three up on her. This club has everything: Rita Ora, Chris Rock, sock puppets, Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus beaming in from parts unknown, a giant TV that only shows Nicki Minaj rapping, crazed Kanye West-induced epilepsy, baby doll choirs-" "Wait what's a baby doll choir?" "It's that thing when midgets dress up as those twin girls from The Shining and lip-sync the beginning eight measures of the song." And as if we seemed to have escaped Katy Perry for a year, nope, wait for it - she makes a cameo in this video too! Justin Bieber - "Sorry" fRh_vgS2dFE Back to Purpose: The Movement. I knew of ReQuest Dance Crew from the show America's Best Dance Crew - they were a New Zealand-based dance crew who beat Poreotix in an international dance competition, only to enter ABDC and get... 7th. :manson: That didn't stop these Kiwi warriors from booking gigs, and this is their biggest one by far. The video really shows off their strengths as a crew and of their dance style: hip-hop infused with traditional Maori dances. And this also became the source for one of the funniest vines of the year: E68_wV08SWA Ryn Weaver - "OctaHate" (original video) C8cb7tQVbVg I'm actually really confused as to why her label wanted her to release a new video while it was taking off in the US. This video is pretty priceless. I'm all for interesting aesthetics in videos and this is about as hipster as it gets. I discovered this in my gym but didn't get fully on board until I started playing it on plug. Maybe when I fix my computer I'll play this on Dubtrack.
December 29, 20159 yr LOVE the 'Black Magic' and 'Talking Body' videos - both helped cement my love for the songs. 'Bitch I'm Madonna' video.. is fun. Prefer the 'Ghosttown' one though! Love your summary of the Carly video too, it's so fun <3
December 30, 20159 yr Again Part three is really good espically Carly Rae Jespen such a fun video I love the 'I'm Pregnant' bit
December 30, 20159 yr The Carly video is very fun! As is Bitch I'm Madonna even if it was very overhyped.
December 30, 20159 yr IRLY  loved the Tom Hanks concept and the end dancing :D Black Magic was one of my faves this year too. Great visual effects and Harry Potter style  :magic:
December 31, 20159 yr Hi Cody IRLY is one of my top videos too, I liked the song anyway but it really helped drive home just how euphoric the track is, so much fun and Tom Hanks being in it was like the cherry on top. The cameos were a little disappointing in BIM but it was still fun doing guess the celeb and Madge still brought loads of energy too, definitely re-ignited my love for the song
December 31, 20159 yr Author THE BEST VIDEOS OF 2015 *Disclaimer: This may or may not be the order of preference. Okay, maybe the top two, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.* TOP 2 VIDEOS OF 2015: New Politics - "West End Kids" X3r70uYHBD4 So I went into this single being another new New Politics single. Then it became top 10 in BJSC. Then the boys released this music video... and it's GLORIOUS. Normally, I'm used to punk rock bands making some wild music videos that I really like, but this one takes the cake for its cameos and amazing game references. We got Travie McCoy fighting Søren who was dressed as Link from The Legend Of Zelda. We have a former BJSC entrant, LOLO, dressed as Cammy from Street Fighter, and we got Fall Out Boy as some goons from Grand Theft Auto. And that's not all - Brendon Urie is in control with an NES and a Nintendo 64 to boot. This is one video that appeals to just everyone, from the punk rock fans who will enjoy the little nuances their favorite acts put in their character, while everyone else can get struck with nostalgia from all the video game references. The boys of New Politics don't disappoint, and the streets of Brooklyn never felt so fun. And the best video of 2015 is... Taylor Swift f/Kendrick Lamar - "Bad Blood" QcIy9NiNbmo As if what we got from BIM and WEK wasn't enough, here's the video that started this whole "let's add random celebrities into music videos" trend. Taylor invites her squad to a secret Avengers base and trains them to take down an army led by... Selena Gomez? Okay, I know it's all pretend but it just seems strange. Well, Selena is an amazing actress, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that she gets a giant role. Other cameos include Gigi Hadid (who was eventually recruited for the "How Deep Is Your Love" video), former BJSC entrant Serayah, many more models (including Cindy Crawford!!!), and it all ties up into one giant climactic fight. Except we don't actually get to see the fight. For me, it's symbolic to finding the motivation to work hard in someone who has an equal amount of strength and intellect. I had that person in high school, and it led me into a good college and really inspired me to work harder. Yes, I was the Taylor in that situation. All things are good now. - Love chart coming up next!
