January 2, 20169 yr Author I like you talking dirty, I like your filthy love.. 141.) Prince Royce f/Snoop Dogg - "Stuck On A Feeling" Chart Points: 2462 Lead Single, Double Vision Chart Run: 44-37-28-29-25-25-24-23-41 (9 weeks (8 in 2015)) Wlbb3DeA3jU Prince Royce surprised everyone when he decided to release a album, let alone a single, in English. And I mean full English + doing an Enrique and putting some Spanish here and there. The results were... not as satisfying than I would like to believe, even for an established Latin act. Anyway, the first single, "Stuck On A Feeling", began to catch on in 2014, but most of its chart run was during 2015. It was a sexier side of Prince Royce, and while normally it equates to something generic, it worked for him and the Snoop Dogg part really shifted gears. He performed this during the 2015 Miss USA pageant, where I may have caught him lip-syncing?
January 2, 20169 yr Author I bet my life on you... 140.) Imagine Dragons - "I Bet My Life" Chart Points: 2489 Lead Single, Smoke + Mirrors Chart Run: 42-39-32-31-33-27-28-26-24-34 (10 weeks) 4ht80uzIhNs Upon hearing this on first listen, the first thing that came into my mind was that they've finally redeemed themselves from the extremely awful "Demons" and the nondescript "On Top Of The World". Then the video came out and it was one of the best things to ever grace my phone screen. In fact, most of its chart run consisted of me spamming the video to no end. The video features Dane DeHaan getting into a fight then going on this weird, perilous journey, then landing on a giant crowd. A short part of this video was a Jeep commercial, and that was what fueled my interest.
January 2, 20169 yr Avicii's long-awaited second album was slated to become as huge as True was, but it ended up disappointing in both its single performance and critical Buzzjack acclaim. In short: what the hell happened? I guess that's what he gets for recycling the same folk-dance style to get a quick buck. Back to this though - I really liked it in the coming weeks toward its release in the UK, then by the sixth week, something happened. I don't know what, but it became an absolute banger... until I forgot about it again. This was slated to be a #1 and it seemed like his team wanted to make sure of it, but competing against "Black Magic"? No wonder Dan hates that track so much. OMG WAITING FOR LOVE    This 'Stories' shade though :nono: and I was always gonna dislike 'Black Magic' but the song completely overshadowing the release of 'Waiting For Love' made me instantly find it even more annoying  At one point I thought Little Mix would debut at #1 and then Avicii would take the #1 the following week, how wrong was I? :snif:
January 2, 20169 yr Author OMG WAITING FOR LOVE    This 'Stories' shade though :nono:I actually liked Stories, I just said it didn't perform as well as it was hyped to be.
January 2, 20169 yr Author These are the nights that never die... 139.) Avicii - "The Nights" Chart Points: 2497 2nd Single, The Days/The Nights EP Chart Run: 45-36-28-27-24-24-25-34-42 (9 weeks) UtF6Jej8yb4 "The Nights" first came into prominence as a part of Avicii's 2-part EP which included similarly-titled "The Days" featuring Robbie Williams. This was the hit though, sorry Robbie. I ended up really getting into this song when I checked it out as a workout song. I'm actually dying seeing it become gold in the US, when it didn't even chart on Billboard IIRC. It's a nice feel-good song that tells the tale of living life to the fullest because you only have one life to live. These EDM YOLO tracks are what I live for, so it was nice to see it do well in the UK.
January 2, 20169 yr Author Let's take our time to say what we want... 138.) Meghan Trainor f/John Legend - "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" (17) Chart Points: 2519 4th Single, Title Chart Run: 49-38-32-31-28-20-17... (7 weeks) 2-MBfn8XjIU Next up in potential hits of 2016 comes in the form of Meghan Trainor's latest single. When I saw "Dear Future Husband" flop, I thought this was going to do nothing on the charts but it ended up taking off near the tail-end of the year. It was one of the best tracks off the album and one of the best-selling cherry picked tracks when the album was released, so I'm had this ended up becoming a single anyway. It features John Legend, who partially redeems himself for creating the abomination that is "All Of Me" and subsequently ruining any chance "Lay Me Down" had on swaying the public on Sam Smith's side. Oy vey. Then this came along and he actually sounded really good in it, so all in all a nice track for the holidays.
January 2, 20169 yr Bad Blood deserved the #1 music video win :winner: Heroes, Don't Look Down and Bills so close  So that's where Lee's old signature came from, the Fall Out Boy video? :o Sugar eventually grew but it's still got the cheesy sense to it. Love Doing It and Cheyenne was quite good, Real Love showed Jess' vocals as always and WFL was great :music: BFI was quite catchy and better than Trouble for me. I Bet is very good but their first era >>>>>>> Love The Nights  :music: it'll be quite high in mine I imagine :D
January 2, 20169 yr Author I wanna show you, take you on a ride... http://i.imgur.com/m0m4kqO.jpg 137.) Wave Racer f/B▲by - "Flash Drive" Chart Points: 2564 Lead Single, Flash Drive EP Chart Run: 37-23-17-18-21-37 (6 weeks) -Js_-DtskxM The first of my BJSC entries comes in at #137 - the latest one, that is. Wave Racer could be pioneering future bass songs into this chart, and "Flash Drive" starts this frenzy. Long story short about this track - I decided to experiment with a new sound, ended up flopping, and now I'm almost certain I will get called out every time I post in a BJSC thread. Yeah, not something I look back on fondly. Anyway, it was a nice and cute treat for the holidays and at least my track record is a bit symmetrical, let alone intact. Will I ever send a future bass song again? I don't know. Keep your eyes peeled.
January 2, 20169 yr Author These four lonely walls have changed the way I feel... 136.) Naughty Boy f/Beyoncé & Arrow Benjamin - "Runnin' (Lose It All)" Chart Points: 2589 Lead Single, TBA Chart Run: 48-45-37-38-34-26-25-23-21-31-46 (11 weeks) eJSik6ejkr0 For those of you who have expunged Naughty Boy from your memory, I'll remind you that during all the commotion about Zayn leaving One Direction, he lived up to his name and just about angered the entire Directioner population. So the most reasonable apology to the entire world was to record a song with the Queen Bey herself. It became a hit in the UK, which I was thankful for because I did not want Naughty Boy's infamy to get in the way of his production talent, let alone Beyonce's fantastic vocals. The video is also visually appealing and really helps with the soft yet epic vibe this song gives. One more Beyoncé song appears in the countdown.
January 2, 20169 yr Author Just the thought of you gets me so high... 135.) Jason DeRulo - "Want To Want Me" Chart Points: 2602 Lead Single, Everything Is 4 Chart Run: 49-48-46-32-31-26-18-20-30-45 (10 weeks) rClUOdS5Zyw The second of Jason's songs to come into the countdown is his lead single from his latest era. Of course, he picked up right where he left off with the unexpected smashing of "Wiggle" and to a lesser extent "Trumpets", and reaches the top spot in the UK and relatively close in the US. It's a nice change of pace from the ratchet anthems that came into prominence last year and gave us a groovier side of him that was a nice surprise for the fans. It's the standard JDR song and more.
January 2, 20169 yr 'Flash Drive' was fab! You had some real good ones this yeah, so i'm looking forward to what you have next year too. 'Savages' to do very well in this countdown too :D 'Running' was good but never properly connected with me and I do have a soft spot for 'Want To Want Me' ;o
January 3, 20169 yr 'Stuck On A Feeling' gives me such late-NSYNC or B2K vibes from 2002-03, I was really impressed with it and that was months before 'Back It Up' took him to another level. HUGE amounts of love for 'I Bet My Life' too <3333

It peaked at #4 and spent the rest of the year in the chart. January 3, 20169 yr Author Life can be cruel if you're a dreamer... 134.) DJ Snake & AlunaGeorge - "You Know You Like It Chart Points: 2805 Lead Single, Body Music Chart Run: 49-48-46-32-31-26-18-20-30-45 (10 weeks) aBn7bjy9c4U The first of two DJ Snake songs to enter this year, the sleeper US hit emerges first at #134. Of course, this has been released in the UK three times, the third time in this version. Tbh I have no idea why they're sleeping on this version now. Anyway, I first heard this song (in its original form) from 2013, and it never really clicked with me the way this version did, so props to DJ Snake. I like how his trap style has gotten more sophisticated this year, especially with the likes of "Middle" - look for that to possibly smash next year! Yay for musical progression.
January 3, 20169 yr You Know You Like It being a huge UK flop was one of the most WTF moments of the year. I guess people were too into 'Lean On' to care about anything else DJ Snake had to offer at the time (also explains Major Lazer's follow-up flopping too)
January 3, 20169 yr Some great pics here Codz! I absolutely adore the Meghan / John track and Runnin' is fab too if you delete Naughty Boy from it ;)
January 3, 20169 yr Wave Racer :cheer: what a fun song and good BJSC entry. Runnin is ok and WTWM is great, never really got that much into the DJ Snake remix of YKYLI  both versions are quite good though.

I guess people were too into 'Lean On' to care about anything else DJ Snake had to offer at the time (also explains Major Lazer's follow-up flopping too)...Which won't make sense because I have a feeling "Middle" will end up smashing worldwide. Still crying about "Powerful" tbh Wave Racer, Naughty Boy, Derulo and also DJ Snake all slaying *.*YAS. Some great pics here Codz! I absolutely adore the Meghan / John track and Runnin' is fab too if you delete Naughty Boy from it ;)You literally just proved the first thing on my "Runnin'" commentary. Then again, you can't deny that the man has a sliver of talent. Wave Racer :cheer: what a fun song and good BJSC entry. Runnin is ok and WTWM is great, never really got that much into the DJ Snake remix of YKYLI  both versions are quite good though.Awww... Another note: I prefer the remix with the original video, it seems to fit somehow.
January 3, 20169 yr Author I can see you through the curtains of the waterfall... 133.) Sheppard - "Geronimo" Chart Points: 2812 Lead Single, Bombs Away Chart Run: 40-34-32-30-27-25-18-18-12-13-10-13-15-15-19-24-32-41 (18 weeks (6 in 2015)) UL_EXAyGCkw Another carryover from 2014, this time a giant hit from Australia. Sheppard came by as a surprise like most songs that smashed my chart in the fall of that year (a lot of them being Australian and UK hits), but the song is hypnotic for indie. It did gain some sales in the US (thankfully), reaching #53 on Billboard. Every time I watch the 11th Doctor's seasons, I'm always inclined to sing the hook of this song; it just seems so fitting. The screaming "Bombs away!" part always gets me as well. Funny thing about this song: I didn't care to hear it in its entirety until after an Australian Pop Danthology-esque mashup surfaced, so props to that DJ.
