Now it's time for my Top 5 albums of the year:

#5. Nick Jonas - Nick Jonas

At the start of the year, I never expected to have Nick Jonas included on a list of artists that I'd be a fan of... Then Jealous came along and I was hooked. Nick's second album, though considered his debut in terms of a breakthrough, is full of alternative pop and R&B tracks with slick production. It was recently unnecessarily repackaged with a couple of new tracks (Levels, Area Code). Overall, the album is incredibly enjoyable to listen to and one that I keep going back to time and time again.

Highlights: Chains, Jealous, Teacher, Numb (feat. Angel Haze), Warning, Avalanche (feat. Demi Lovato)

#4. Ministry of Sound - I Love House

Yes, a compilation! More often than not for me, compilations come along, get a couple of listens and then they're forgotten about. However, I Love House is one of the first in a long while which I have truly enjoyed listening to. Encapsulating house music down to a tee, the album includes the best tracks from the re-emergence of the genre. I can listen to it over and over again without getting bored and it is now a highlight of my music collection.

#3. Jack Ü - Skrillex & Diplo present Jack Ü

When I first heard this collaborative project was announced I was excited to hear what was to come as Skrillex and Diplo are two of my favourite producers in their own right, and boy I was not disappointed. One single emerged then everything went quiet and then in February this year the boys Beyoncé'd this album on us and my ears melted with joy. It was difficult to select just a single track from this album to include in my EOY singles Top 20 because each song is uniquely fab, so this is why it is one of my top albums of the year. Blending EDM and trap music together into a high-octane and absolutely mental collection of tracks, Jack Ü have firmly solidified themselves as a favourite 'double act' of mine.

Highlights: Take Ü There (feat. Kiesza), To Ü (feat. AlunaGeorge), Beats Knockin (feat. Fly Boi Keno), Where Are Ü Now (feat. Justin Bieber), Holla Out (feat. Snails & Taranchyla), Jungle Bae (feat. Bunji Garlin)

#2. CHVRCHES - Every Open Eye

I was over the moon of the announcement of a second album from CHVRCHES this year as their debut is a firm favourite of mine from 2013. Every Open Eye, however, surpasses their debut for me particularly in production value. The album is polished from start to finish with a whole host of synthy pop delights which are lyrically still steeped in emotion. It works, my god it works well :cheer:

Highlights: Leave A Trace, Empty Threat, Clearest Blue, Bury It, Get Away, Never Ending Circles, Keep You On My Side

#1. Purity Ring - Another Eternity

Shrines, the debut album from Purity Ring, is one of my favourite albums of all time. So, again, like CHVRCHES, I was ecstatic at the thought of a follow up.

From the day Another Eternity was released back in March I have never grown tired of it. From the haunting and quirky vocals to the blindingly gorgeous production, this album is sheer perfection in my eyes. The songs just effortlessly fade into one another, which makes it hard to pick a favourite as they're all equally fantastic. I cannot wait to get the opportunity to see these guys live because they produce some fantastic music.

Hi Lewis

Purity Ring's album was actually really good and I listened to it a fair bit around release and just haven't heard a thing from it in months, sort of forgot it existed :/ Push Pull was my favourite from it!

Never though Every Open Eye would be stronger than their debut but they kept all the synths and Lauren's lovely voice and ended up creating better hooks so I enjoyed it a lot. I agree with all of your highlights, especially LAT, Empty Threat and Clearest Blue.

Yeah, I'm like you and have never really liked Enter Shikari but Anaesthetist is pure madness from the spoken robot lady to just mad shouting, a lot of fun

Lovely countdown, over so quickly </3 :D

Purity Ring's album I havent heard in full yet but the first two singles

Also CHVRCHES :cheer: Really great follow up

great top 10! Absolutely love 'Rumors' so at least we'll be sharing that in our top 10s. 'Wet Dollars', 'Real Joy' and '+1' are also amazing. And the others are good too.

Hi Lewis, nice top 20 there!

Real Joy, Take Me Away and of course your #1 of +1 are big highlights.
