Adele needs to come back in Q4 and get an X Fac performance here, American Idol in America slot and amass those Q4 sales.

Adele doesn't need to sell her soul and go on X Factor...she's way better than that I just hope the new album can prove the success of 21 wasn't a one off!!!! (Though I'm not expecting this to sell anywhere near as many copies!)

Can't wait. 21 is a great great album. Wasn't as keen on 19 but it's still good.

Dan Wootton, who is normally a reliable source, has claimed this to be "imminent" and "coming far sooner than we think". Her site has also gone down, and has been down for a couple of days.

I don't want to play devil's advocate, but I don't remember anyone else dropping an album without anyone knowing.

I think the reason everyone talks about Beyoncé doing it like it's the best thing since sliced bread is because it was so unexpected for a popstar like her. Normally these mega stars ie. Britney, Beyoncé, P!nk, Lady Gaga etc do loads of promo. In a way it was a big risk to release Beyoncé in the way she did because those kind of popstars are so afraid of flopping.

tbf I don't think anybody has quite had the success Beyoncé did with a release like that, which is also the reason everyone associates that album release strategy with her now..

It is because she is the first huge star to do so, and has shown that this can work for the big names, that release strategy for big releases was basically unheard of, that's all. In this case, with Adele being a global star, it seems the most sensible to compare the scenario of her dropping a surprise album to Beyonce doing so, as it would show she has started a trend in mainstream big releases.

Adele just tweeted a photo saying'Bye Bye 25... see you later in the year'.

 

Makes me think the next album is called 25 and will be released this year.
