Pick of the pile:

34. Carly Rae Jepsen – I Really Like You [8-8-8-10-12-17-19-26-28-30-33-39-xx] 12 Weeks

33. P!nk – Today's The Day [14-6-8-9-11-13-20-24-25-28-28-32-] *Still Charting*

32. Kylie Minogue feat. James Corden – Only You [18-21-19-18-] *Still Charting*

31. Prince Royce feat. Jennifer Lopez & Pitbull – Back It Up [17-21-27-31-33-25-14-7-7-5-5-7-12-13-18-22-26-36-40-xx] 19 Weeks

Carly Rae Jepsen stunned the world when this song turned out to be something of a hit. Very much in the same boat as Call me Maybe, it's a simple song that gets stuck in your head thanks to it's combo of simple lyrics and really addictive chorus. Follow-up singles were good but not quite good enough to make me wanna buy her album or feature them here.

P!nk has been quiet musically for a while, but we did get a new single or sorts. The theme for the new season of Ellen, the song is nothing amazing, but even a simple P!nk song is a damn good song, such is the power of her music. Hopefully the new album comes soon and is more punchier than this.

Kylie and.....James Corden, ew. If she had picked someone who could sing and who wasn't a raging twat (Josh Groban tbh) this song would easily be top 20, maybe even top 10. A lovely song, originally by Yazoo, Kylie sounds amazing on it, but James, just, no.

Jenny Lo makes her first appearence of many here, this time as a featured artist on some guys single. I dunno who he is but this song is really good. The well worn combo of J-Lo and Pitbull is what makes this song, nice bit of Spanish-Lo too.

Pick of the pile:

30. Shayne Ward – My Heart Would Take You Back [2-3-7-6-10-11-17-21-24-23-23-25-24-26-28-30-32-34-38-40-xx] 20 Weeks

29. Jon McLaughlin – Before You [5-4-6-8-13-13-14-16-11-10-10-11-13-15-20-22-25-28-33-35-xx] 20 Weeks

28. Little Mix – Love Me Like You [6-6-5-3-5-8-9-13-14-16-] *Still Charting*

27. Alanis Morissette – Superstar Wonderful Weirdos [32-27-30-33-34-34-39-40-xx] 8 Weeks

Safe to say that very few people liked Shayne's recent musical output, but I liked it. Lead single My Heart Would Take You Back has a kinda retro feel to it and is really rather lovely, the video features Shayne baring flesh too, oofta.

Jon Mclaughlin released a promo single to wet his fans whistles for the new album and it's amazeballs. More uplifting and produced than his last album, it has a beautiful melody and lyrics to boot. Classic Jon, simply stunning.

More LM, the second single from their new album and a step up from Black Magic, despite it's lower peak for me. It's a nice mushy ballad perfect for winter. Girlband ballads rarely make much impact, they seem to lack in the quality that boyband ones do, but LMLY is easily up there with the best of them.

Slaylanis released this ancient demo as her first instant grat from her re-release of Jagged Little Pill, she went on to release more but this one served more as a promo single than the others. It leaked years ago along with No Avalon and it's way more happy and fun than any other song from the period, so you can see why it was left behind, it has the lyrics of her first two albums and the production of JLP, still, a fab wee tune.

Pick of the pile:

26. Ellie Goulding – Love Me Like You Do [7-6-5-6-5-7-12-19-21-26-32-38-xx] 12 Weeks

25. Molly Sandén – Like No One's Watching [24-21-21-27-30-34-36-xx] 7 Weeks

24. Il Volo – Grande Amore [8-6-7-8-8-10-12-14-16-21-23-27-28-30-34-40-xx] 16 Weeks

Ballad goodness.

Ellie Goulding is someone I've never liked, she sounds like a dying mouse on helium most of the time, but this song isn't too bad. Maybe because it is a typical movie ballad I gave it more of a chance? Who knows, but it's her only good song and only good thing about 50 Shades of Grey tbh.

This next song didn't fare well in my chart in it's initial run but over the last few weeks I've fallen back in love. Like No One's Watching has an anthemic uplifting ballad feel which is pretty killer to blast on the way to college.

Sexy Italian men singing power ballads, right up my street. They did Eurovision but don't hold it against them, they are like 4 Italain Josh Groban's and that's never a bad thing, super awesome song, even though I have no idea what they are singing about, big love I assume.

I got over 'Love Me Like You Do' quite quickly :( Still really like 'Love Me Like You' and 'I Really Like You' though  (lol at these similar titles!).

Slay Mi Ellie Goudling *.*

Also slay Little Mix, Shayne Ward and Alanis :cheer: :music:

Good EOY So far *.*

Like No One's Watching is the worst of Molly's songs this era :( meh. Il Volo was also the Eurovision lowlight of theyear. But Ellie slays, one of her best songs which is no mean feat.

Pick of the pile:

23. Jessica Andersson - Can't Hurt Me Now [33-12-12-9-13-14-20-24-26-29-31-37-xx] 12 Weeks

22. Madonna – Living For Love [21-9-7-4-4-4-4-2-4-3-4-7-9-12-13-20-22-23-23-29-34-37-xx] 22 Weeks

21. Hilary Duff – Sparks [4-3-4-3-2-8-8-10-11-13-16-13-15-16-15-19-24-26-30-34-39-xx] 21 Weeks

In this pile we have a Eurovision-y ballad from Jessica Andersson, a very good singer. I don't follow any of these things, but I think she did this song is from that Metalfistin thing, either way it's a nice little power ballad.

The cape incident made this next song famous. Madge's leas from the epic Rebel Heart. This is a song that finally gave Madonna fans something they were waiting for a long time for, a Madonna-y song that's not overly urban, sexual or features Nicki Minaj. One of the best from the album tbh.

Duffster made her comeback this year too, first with two acoustic pop jams and then with this pure pop banger, not as good as All About You but on par with Chasing The Sun I think. The album rocks too.

Pick of the pile:

20. Shayne Ward – The Way You Were [14-4-5-6-6-8-9-9-9-10-9-10-12-12-13-15-18-24-27-31-33-38-xx] 22 Weeks

19. Edurne – Amanecer [7-5-6-5-6-8-9-13-17-25-26-26-27-28-30-35-36-38-39-xx] 19 Weeks

18. Carrie Underwood – Smoke Break [16-7-6-7-9-11-14-13-15-19-21-23-26-27-31-] *Still Charting*

The second single from Shayne Ward's new album, better than the first and backed up with some killer remixes, this is one of the most upbeat ones from the album and one of the ones that resembles what he did on his last two albums. No nudity in the video from what I recall, which is a shame.

Eurovision again, this time Spains entry and a huge ballad, which is always nice. A killer video too, this singer has a killer voice and some of her other material is pretty damn good too, she does a fab cover of Gimme Gimme Gimme by ABBA.

Carrie's album slayed, but this single didn't quite represent the album as a whole. It's a bit Carrie by numbers but even then, it's a killer track. It's a great message and had a really cool video, but there are better on the album.

Smoke Break  it definitely is Carrie-by-numbers but that's not even a bad thing when her standard is so high.

Smoke Break is among her weakest singles for me, still great but there definitely is better on the album for sure.

Amanecer *.* Correct euro highlight.

17. Kylie Minogue feat. Shaggy – Black & White [2-2-4-7-7-8-8-10-11-14-13-13-] *Still Charting*

16. The Corrs – Bring On The Night [19-5-4-6-8-] *Still Charting*

15. High Dive Heart – Vintage [10-1-1-1-2-3-4-4-5-5-6-8-10-11-13-18-19-20-19-22-25-24-26-30-35-38-38-40-xx] 28 Weeks

Mini appears once again and for the last time with the first song off her second EP with Garibay, featuring, randomly, Shaggy. A different sound for her compared to her recent output, it's a fab little song and the two performers go well together, if pushed it might have dented the top 40, maybe, possibly.

The Corrs made their big comeback this year and the first taste of this was this stunning ballad. Typically Corrs but modern enough to not seem dated and old. The album as a whole is wonderful and this is a perfect way to introduce the world to it.

Avalonia hype tbh. Hat wearing hottie Jason Reeves and his other half Nelly Joy formed a duo this year and this is the first fruits of their labour. A funky little number, it went on to be one of my longest runners. Slay.

14. Kelly Clarkson – Heartbeat Song [2-2-3-5-7-8-4-6-9-14-16-20-21-24-24-26-27-32-34-39-xx] 20 Weeks

13. Lifehouse – Hurricane [1-1-2-2-3-4-5-8-8-10-11-11-14-15-16-16-13-13-17-18-19-22-23-25-26-28-28-28-29-32-36-38-xx] 32 Weeks

12. Anastacia – Take This Chance [1-1-1-1-3-6-7-8-10-9-] *Still Charting*

11. Natalie Imbruglia – Instant Crush [11-4-4-6-7-7-6-8-12-12-16-16-15-9-10-9-11-12-12-14-15-16-17-19-21-23-24-28-34-36-40-xx] 31 Weeks

COmeback singles from Kelly Clarkson and Natalie Imbruglia both slayed here. Kelly's is a bit underrated, one of the better ones from the new album but a bit basic maybe. That being said, it's damn catchy and had a great beat to it.

NatIm took to covering songs for her new one, the lead being a cover of a Daft Punk song, taking it from a dance song to a brooding pop burner that is totally stunning and shows off her voice wonderfully.

Anastacia released a new GH this year and used this song to promote it, a simple ballad where she keeps her powerful vocals to a minumum, a lot of hate came towards her for this but I love it when she holds back and lets her voice do this.

Lifehouse's second single from their new album and a realy change from Flight and is an upbeat rock stomper. More upbeat than anything on their previous album too, which is nice to hear as they have enough slow numbers, despite them being awesome.
