Posted March 28, 200619 yr do you know the records that have climbed to number one from outside the top ten? DJ Otzi is supposed to have climbed from 45 to 1 and neyo from 18 to 1, but what are the rest? :o
March 28, 200619 yr You can only really list singles since 1995. Before that it was the norm. Only the odd singles entered inside the top 10.
March 28, 200619 yr Author You can only really list singles since 1995. Before that it was the norm. Only the odd singles entered inside the top 10. wouldnt records go up slowly rather than rocket up the charts? i thought thats what all the changes to the charts these days are trying to do. still i bet there wasnt loads before 95
March 28, 200619 yr DJ Otzi charted on imports only a while before its UK release (70-55-{41}-47-45-) so that doesn't really count, as many artists have done that. When it was released officially in the United Kingdom it went straight to #1. James Blunt - You're Beautiful went from #12 to #1 a few weeks later and quite a few have gone from outside the top ten to the top five since 1997. There will be others but I just can't think of em!

DJ Otzi did climb to No.1, it had the same catalogue No. Read the James Masterson Commentary this week, it puts the whole debate to bed, once and for all.

March 28, 200619 yr DJ Otzi did climb to No.1, it had the same catalogue No. Read the James Masterson Commentary this week, it puts the whole debate to bed, once and for all. Oh did it :P sorry! I just looked on Polyhex and assumed they were different lol.
March 28, 200619 yr James Blunt - You're Beautiful went from #12 to #1 a few weeks later and quite a few have gone from outside the top ten to the top five since 1997. There will be others but I just can't think of em! James Blunt didn't jump from #12 to #1 though, he climbed into the Top 3 THEN got to number one.
March 28, 200619 yr James Blunt didn't jump from #12 to #1 though, he climbed into the Top 3 THEN got to number one. Oh is this only for artists who have gone straight there? Sorry, ignore me!

March 31, 200619 yr Ta for this. I knew Captain Sensible had the record, but I didn't know that Austrian nit Otzi had broken it :(
March 31, 200619 yr Author probably because the chartshow is a top 40 therefore doesnt bother with 41-250
March 31, 200619 yr probably because the chartshow is a top 40 therefore doesnt bother with 41-250 It's time the chartshowdid bother about positions 41-75 as this is the complete official chart. March 31, 200619 yr In the USA, Kelly Clarkson jumped on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, from 52 to 1. Is that a record?
