Posted March 28, 200619 yr will the new arctic monkeys ep chart at number one in a budget album chart?
March 28, 200619 yr What are the current rules on number of tracks anyway? Can't they just have it as a "maxi-single". Since nobody looks at the budget albums chart I'd say not a chance anyway :D
March 28, 200619 yr I am confused about this as well, as I don't know if its chart eligable, but if it is then I'm sure it'll get to number 1.
March 28, 200619 yr I'm pretty sure it's not -_- I hope if this does sell a lot then the OCC will sit up and take notice and make EPs count towards towards the singles chart or at least increase the number of tracks you can have on a single and get rid of the 2 for £2 ones thus singles will be more value for money. ^_^
March 29, 200619 yr It's out the same week as Dirty Pretty Things debut single...this should make things really interesting. Actually, the Snow Patrol comeback single is out that monday too. Indie three way tie at 1-2-3?
March 29, 200619 yr Author I am confused about this as well, as I don't know if its chart eligable, but if it is then I'm sure it'll get to number 1. its got 5 tracks so it wont be in the singles chart track listing 1. The View From The Afternoon 2. Cigarette Smoker Fiona 3. Departure Lounge 4. No Buses 5. Who The F**k Are Arctic Monkeys

March 29, 200619 yr Author robson and jerome what becomes of the broken hearted, saturday night and youll never walk alone however this is not tagged as an ep so maybe a trebble a-side which is bizarre
March 29, 200619 yr I dunno - I thought they scrapped the number of tracks rule. Mind you, S*M*A*S*H and These Animal Men both released mini-albums in 1994 which were included in the album chart...even though at the time they could have been singles. I once bought a Future Sound of London single with 8 mixes on it - Papua New Guinea - and that was a single. So, when the 3 track rule only came into play in 1998 and (I think) has been scrapped (look at some maxi-CDs out just now) who is to say what is a single and what is not? The price?

I thought singles either had to be 3 tracks max on one disc or one track and multi remixes of that track
