If we can't find heaven then we'll keep raising hell

56. Gjan - One More Drink

57. Madonna ft. Nicki Minaj - Bitch I'm Madonna

58. Fifth Harmony ft. Kid Ink - Worth It

59. Five Knives – Savages

60. Ed Sheeran - Photograph

Ed Sheeran's 'Photograph' seems criminally low here and it probably deserves a good 40 places here... But it has fallen short primarily because it's one of those songs that has a beautiful feel to it when listening but now it doesn't leave much more once it's over. Maybe it's the overplay like with all of his songs. Still that is not to take anything away from it, it's a beautiful song full of so much sentiment but delivered with exquisite simplicity. Two BJSC songs in this set too, the first from Five Knives is the totally infectious, screaming glory that is 'Savages'. Total escapism in a song and one that let me roars with freedom every time I hear it. Gjan is the second, with the equally as infectious 'One More Drink'. The song went on to define my summer holiday (which was as the title suggests full of alcohol) but also of good times and the mentality of the song with its push for just one more experience of enjoyment proved to be a willing accomplice in my fun across the summer months. The song now always transports me to Italy where I was at my most carefree and happy <3 Worth It took ages to grow on me, but it became a club staple eventually and i'm sure I scarred some people with images of my dancing to it when I was gone. It's fun and doesn't take itself too seriously (plus the video and subsequent analysis of it with Rob in Sheffield was a highlight :')). And talking of Sheffield and Rob, Madonna is back and this time she's got company. I disliked the song, then LOVED it and now I merely like it. It's a definite weak point in her singles discography but even her worst is pretty amazing oops~

SO MUCH MADONNA

One of the best sets there, "Savages" is GODLY and "Worth It" transcends that

Worth It is brilliant pop, they're looking very promising are FH.

Bitch I'm Madonna is wonderfully weird but you have to cringe when some of those lyrics are coming from a 57 year-old

HBHBHB was definitely an improvement on Ceremonials for me, I adore the run of What Kind of Man/HBHBHB/Queen of Peace and then you still have the likes of Delilah/St Jude/Hiding/Which Witch for me. Did not disappoint and even went ABOVE expectations.

Photograph is gorgeous and has a special place in my heart. I've loved all the singles from 'x', particularly the latter three but I've never been tempted to listen to the album for some reason. I think it might be because, aside from Photograph, the songs take forever to grow on me.

Worth it is great and Savages is incredible, wish I gave it way more points than I did in BJSC :(

Though Bitch I'm Madonna is one of my least favourites from the album, hate it :(

Badlands :music: surprisingly good. Worth it grew despite being a Talk Dirty ripoff but Bitch I'm Madonna is awful in every way  Photograph is listenable if you count the Felix Jaehn remix doe :music:

Stay wide awake for every moment we spend together

51. Kendrick Lamar - King Kunta

52. Nick Jonas (w/ ft. Tinashe) – Jealous

53. Janet Jackson ft. J. Cole - No Sleeep

54. Mikky Ekko - Love You Crazy

55. CAPPA ft. Almighty Chief – Hush

BJSC entry from Noah starts things off. Cappa will hopefully be one to watch next year and if the lush 'Hush' is anything to go by, they'll be major players. This song is glory defined, a beautiful song about secrets and lies and the appeal of the concealed. The song makes me melt with every listen, it's so hidden and secretive yet so open and revealing at the same time. Mikky Ekko continued his slow upheaval into the mainstream with an album of his own and it was this song that stood up above the rest as the one that should do it for him. Incredibly catchy and deranged at times but making full sense as his falsetto climaxes over and over again. Janet's big return this year (which will continue well into next year too!) began with this. On first listen I was left a little... wanting more. But on repeated listens I began to appreciate the subtlety of the song, the poised throwbacks to her earlier material and it all came together even more when placed in the context of her album. Flowing wonderfully from track to track, 'No Sleeep' is the centrepiece to a stunning collection of songs and it's awakened in full glory in that. Lol, Nick Jonas. I cannot deny this song and all of it's R&B swag B-) i've included the Tinashe collab here but i'm not actually sure if I prefer it solo or with her - she does fit wonderfully on it! Finally before we get to the top half is the wild 'King Kunta' by King Kendrick. In your face, brazen and controversial, although the true context and message behind the song is anything but that. It's a tender appreciation to a fictional slave from the 18th century, and it's all brought back to modern day realism with Kendrick's expert lyricism.

*catches up*

Lots of love for Bitch I'm Madonna, Photograph, Worth It, I Bet, Sober, Hello, Do It Again and Body On Me, plus the Halsey album!

Love You Crazy is my favourite BJSC entry of yours for sure  A really excellent song. I'm delighted to see Niykee appear also! Although I wonder if that's just evidence of you being shallow, after visiting her Instagram

51. Kendrick Lamar - King Kunta

52. Nick Jonas (w/ ft. Tinashe) – Jealous

53. Janet Jackson ft. J. Cole - No Sleeep

57. Madonna ft. Nicki Minaj - Bitch I'm Madonna

58. Fifth Harmony ft. Kid Ink - Worth It

59. Five Knives – Savages

60. Ed Sheeran - Photograph

Nick Jonas - Orginal is better as much as I like the remix

Janet Jackson - I do like the chillout vibes to this so smooth and J.Cole does add to it.

Mikky Ekko - This okay not the best thing I have heard.

Madonna - Guilty Pleasure :music:

Fifth Harmony - Not a lot of Girlbands this year only them and Little Mix

Five Knives - I really do love this with a passion

Ed Sheeran - Perfect last single to the era

Hiya Haus

I do like the Tinashe collab but unlike you, it's not on par with the solo version. He just brings his touch to the song and she sounds a little bit out of place even though she brings loads of swag to it. Glad the solo version was the hit version.

BIM was always one of my favourites on the album, it has so much madness and Nicki's verse delivers and it's just a lot of fun. The video was really enjoyable too and she seemed to love doing the performances.

You mention overplay with Photograph but it's one of his tracks that really hasn't tired on me, sounds really timeless and just beautiful compared to TOL which just doesn't have the same magic anymore after being such a big hit. Still wish it had been a top 10 for Ed because it's one of his best imo!

I feel that out of Mikky Ekko's ongoing venture into the mainstream, "Smile" from Paper Towns is still my favorite.

I LOVE the Tinashe duet version of "Jealous". The only thing that sucks about it is that the song sounds fabulous without her as well, so it seems like her parts are give or take, but she just fits in PERFECTLY there.

Wind me up, I'm your doll, dress me up

21. FKA Twigs - M3LL155X

I'm Your Doll / Glass and Patron / Figure 8

22. Selena Gomez- Revival

Good For You / Sober / Rise

I was a big fan of 'Stars Dance' by Selena Gomez and when I heard 'Good For You' I knew that she still had big potential. However on first listen, 'Revival' did not spur up my excitement much at all, it was only with repeated listens that I began to appreciate it. I mean it still is quite throwaway, with only a few moments of true goodness, but what it does do is offer quite a different approach to the pop she's been doing. It seems to merge reggae with R&B with soul with generic pop and while it doesn't all work, it's worthy in its experimental nature. The trashy pop is fun, the tender moments are beautiful and the highlights are actually very good. So in all, an inessential but FUN album~

And quite the opposite to the very throwaway pop of Selena comes the layered, well-thought out intricate music from FKA Twigs. She's garnered a huge cult following this past year and the EP she put out here goes a long way in explaining why she is so adored. Musically it is challenging and deep and visually it is outstanding. There is nothing quite as captivating as 'Two Weeks' but the EP is consistently mesmirising. Warped and frenzied at times but Twigs always seems to have full control on the music despite this.

Let's meet in the middle, halfway in the middle

46. Janet Jackson - Shoulda Known Better

47. Mabel - My Boy My Town

48. Troye Sivan - YOUTH

49. Alex Winston - Down Low

50. Ben Khan – 1000

Ben Khan who had a massive hit in 'Youth' last year returned with another EP that wasn't quite as obvious as the previous ones but it still held some real gems, most of all '1000' where he went commercial (for him) and offered his most easy listening song yet. The video was incredibly fun and also showed off a different side to the enigma, still holding out hope that he makes it mainstream soon or at least gives us a full length album! Alex Winston made us go down low for the second time this year, but in all all round different way - this is stripped back, tender and exposed. Underrated man-of-the-moment for me now, Troye Sivan with what is apparently his next single, the glorious 'YOUTH'. An interesting song structurally, the chorus is screamed out above the rest of the song but it works. He has a few more songs still to come and is certainly the hot topic in the Haus right now. Mabel one of my HOT PICKS of people to look out for next year has the first of 2 entries here, her most recent output, the fierce 'My Boy My Town' - something in the production of her songs merged with her silky vocals sends shivers down my spine every time. She will be massive next year for me I think and if there's any justice, massive for everyone else too! And finally the most beautiful moment of Janet's return, the spine-chillingly beautiful 'Shoulda Known Better' with the most heartbreaking of lyrics, tender glances to life in the past and a hopeful, if totally, idealistic glance into the future. A must listen.

Revival  My favourite Selena album I think, either that or Stars Dance anyway.

YOUTH is soooo good also, I really hope it's the song that can break through for him but WILD didn't make any impression with b-list Radio 1 airplay so I doubt it :(

51. Kendrick Lamar - King Kunta still not sure if I'm pronouncing is right or not tbh, but both pronounciations probably work anyway :heehee:

52. Nick Jonas (w/ ft. Tinashe) – Jealous bloody Labrinth's version doing better than this in some respects :drama: (I am a big Labber most of the time but this is deffo his worst) great Jonas track though,

54. Mikky Ekko - Love You Crazy nice entry, icr if I pointed it or not

Sorry I haven't really been replying to comment, but I have been reading and appreciating them :snif: Just trying to power through this so keep them coming!

I doubt he'll make it with anything on the album now which is such a shame. PEOPLE NEED TO HEAR IT :(
