Posted September 25, 200618 yr Gordon Brown apparently made a make-or-break speech today according to news reports. Was it any good? Will Gordon now get support he requires to be PM?
September 25, 200618 yr ....... and the alternative to him is?.... there is no one, within any party who would be better placed to run the country. he has been the best chancellor that i can remember presiding over the lowest interest rates since the 50's , stably too...

But the Govt is utterly riddled with corruption, how can anyone trust them....? Did you watch that "Dispatches" prog tonight on the "Cash For Peerages" scandal..? Truly fukkin' SHOCKING!!! Not even the Tories were this nakedly and thoroughly corrupt.... Contemptable, absolutely fukkin' contemptable..... And I reckon old Gordy knew a thing or two about this whole thing..... Here's hoping both these b/astards get adjoining cells.... <_<
September 25, 200618 yr Doesn't matter how good the speech was, Cherie Blair's "well, that's a lie" gaffe was enough to take a fair amount of attention away from it.....
September 26, 200618 yr because the scandals are associated with blair, not brown. when brown takes over itll be like a new start. and i dont agree that they are the most corrupt government, that accolade still belongs to thatcher.

Mate, why do you continue to make excuses for this shower, it's really beneath you... It will NOT be a 'new start' at all, Brown is still gonna have to deal with a huge financial black hole in Labour's finances, and I am not convinced at all that Brown is some babe in the woods over this whole sorry affair anyway. Just what kind of Chancellor would he be if he were up to speed on what is going on in the financial matters of his own party...? And I dont think that the Tories were ever blatantly taking bungs from billionnaires in return for Honours and Peerages like this lot are doing. And Thatch never lied about why we went to war in the Falklands, however wrong she may have been... The facts are that most of the country just aint gonna wear a Brown Govt, his popularity is even worse than Tony's.... Labour will NOT win the next election, they've totally fukked things up royally, and it'll be thanks to them if we get another 18 years of the Tories....

September 26, 200618 yr realistically there is no other choice to brown, and labour will win the next election... Erm, I wouldn't bet the farm on that just yet mate, scuttlebutt has it that a 'prominent Cabinet Minister' is gonna challenge Brown for Labour leadership. This is NOT a foregone conclusion, nor should it be either, if you ask me, if Blair steps down there should be an immediate General Election (and yes, I was in favour of such a move when Thatch got booted out....) And I think anyone with any sense should be bloody angry about this Govt and what its done to our country....
September 26, 200618 yr most of us though are better off then ten years ago... that matters. tbh i cant get excited either way about politics atm, i dont see anything other then a bunch of liars and miscreants on all sides whos policies are so similar that theres nothing to chose between them. im not that bothered atm , if theres a challenge to brown then ill listen, but as things stand, ill not be voting at the next election unless i can find enough issues in any party thatll move me enough.... but i doubt thatll happen...

I think they should put an option for 'none of the above' on the ballot paper, just so people can legitimately register a Protest Vote instead of spoiling a ballot paper and it not be counted.... There would probably be a fukkin' landslide victory for the 'none of the above' Party though.....
