I thought Mura Masa was Allready TOTD?

It wasn't TOTD but it did get playlisted (on the INMWT list) for 3 weeks back in November. I guess they had to make that TOTD as they haven't got a new single to push yet.

New playlist is up, listing Louisa and Justin as new again. Craig David, France's and Panic seem to be added this week, not last. With Kygo, Martin and 1D up to B (though Infinity is still listed).

I'm really confused about the playlist now, which of the two playlists last week was correct? The one on their website or the one on their facebook/twitter? Can we be sure that the new one is correct, seen as some of the songs are incorrectly listed as New? And are we sure that 1D have officially changed the single from Infinity to History?

^^ Yeah, that would explain it.

In slight contrast to the above list, here are the songs which spent the longest on Radio 1's playlist in 2015.

12 weeks:

Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do

10 weeks:

The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face

Calvin Harris & Disciples - How Deep Is Your Love

9 weeks:

Adele - Hello

Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar - Bad Blood

Ed Sheeran & Rudimental - Bloodstream

Jess Glynne - Don't Be So Hard On Yourself

Jess Glynne - Hold My Hand

Years & Years - King

Years & Years - Shine

Justin Bieber - What Do You Mean?

David Guetta feat. Emeli Sandé - What I Did For Love

8 weeks:

Rihanna feat. Kanye West & Paul McCartney - FourFiveSeconds

James Bay - Hold Back The River

Little Mix - Black Magic

Foo Fighters - Congregation

Sigala - Easy Love

Kygo feat. Conrad - Firestone

Disclosure feat. Sam Smith - Omen

Ellie Goulding - On My Mind

Wiz Khalifa feat. Charlie Puth - See You Again

Jason Derulo - Want To Want Me

One Direction - Drag Me Down

Sigma feat. Ella Henderson - Glitterball

Tinie Tempah feat. Jess Glynne - Not Letting Go

Sam Smith - Writing's On The Wall

(In case anyone's wondering, Uptown Funk isn't included because it was added in early December but FTR it was on the playlist for 9 weeks).

So disappointed Congregation didn't make any waves in the chart, especially after seeing how much Radio 1 backed it :(

They've been playing History too, I heard it yesterday. I guess they just forgot to edit the title?

EDIT: They tweeted that they changed the single also, it's about as official as you can get haha.

The one they posted on their twitter was. History is playlisted instead of Infinity.

Okay, so basically what I think has happened is:

At some point in the holidays (or before) radio 1 decided what the new additions for the playlist would be for this week and last week. The one they posted on Twitter was in fact correct (aside from 1D title being wrong and Louisa's name being spelled wrong), the person who edited the website last week accidentally prematurely added the next week's new additions to playlist instead of the then current week. It explains how some of the new songs from the tweeted playlist have moved up to B.

They obviously had some holiday staff in doing jobs they don't usually do, hence the inconsistencies.

And yes, History is 100% the new 1D single, Radio 1 have been playing it plenty, they're just being slow with updating the title.

Yeh I would say Joe is about right, last week and even this week to a lesser extent doesnt have many 'playlist' style daytime shows due to the xmas disruption so it will be this week we may hear more of the proper playlist!

OK, that sounds like a pretty reasonable explanation, I'm going to go with that on my spreadsheet. Cheers!

two good ToTD's to start the year!

So I'm assuming there will be a new playlist this afternoon. Some possibilities:

Nero - Into The Night

Ellie Goulding - Army

Little Mix feat. Jason Derulo - Secret Love Song

Jason Derulo - Get Ugly (though I'm not sure they'd add two Derulo songs in the same week)

KSI feat. JME - Keep Up

Zara Larsson - Lush Life

Karen Harding - Open My Eyes

I'm also wondering whether they might re-add songs by Sound of 2016 artists e.g. Nao, Mura Masa.

Really holding out for Rachel Platten!

B-Listed on Radio 2 already & I'm sure Heart is going to add it as well.

I'd love Heart to jump on it, being playlisted by Radio 2 never really enthuses me as it never really helps a track do anything.
