BJSC 81 Entry that I am keeping secret for now - 2 weeks

 

Second chart week but I've made the focus a bit of clearing out, finding new music to carry forward my 2016. Yeasayer, Brown Eyed Girls, Twenty One Pilots and Grimes are helping that quite a bit. Oh and Spectre which is just addictive, I missed it all of last year and only now when Faded is getting a bit of hype do I notice it.

I don't know what that Danny L Harle song is like but Broken Flowers is an excellent track :music:

Broken Flowers really is a standout track, I prefer Forever because it's so emotional :cry: Give it a listen, you may well like.

I have heard Faded. The thing is, Spectre is pretty much the same as Faded but with no vocals and a more aggressive and exciting instrumental. I'll probably chart Faded next week but for now I definitely prefer Spectre.

 

Flesh Without Blood is probably the first Grimes song I could really really like, her solo material has always been lacking a little bit for me, good but I always feel she could have been better. FWB is better though.

Nao Hiiragi - Requiem (Stygia Bootleg) - 4 weeks

 

Stygia's hard trance bootleg of an emotional anime song remains my only #1 so far this year (vote it in BJSC yes do that), seeing off a strong challenge from Grimes' new best song, Kill Vs Maim (featuring former Séyetana entrant Tei Shi as a demon in the video *.*). The highlight of the Eurovision season so far, Avantasia's Mystery Of A Blood Red Rose enters the top 5 along with entries from past favourites The 1975, Against The Current and Danny L Harle as Broken Flowers goes strong on the re-release (I shall have to check if I ever charted it before, I did, but it only reached #25 off the back of BJSC).

Maybe :o Considering I originally planned to send it as an 'if nothing else (i.e. like Requiem) shows its face' entry. And it's holding up very well. Quite Language-esque actually with the vocal part.

I do very much like Art Angels. Grimes has been a bit of a weird one for me for a while now, I never thought anything I'd heard before had been that great and so I never really searched her out but this time round, Flesh Without Blood, Kill Vs Maim, Belly Of The Beat, they're really hitting me and I'm loving it, especially Kill Vs Maim which is a plethora of wonderful sounds. Coldplay versus Against The Current this week, with the former winning out just about, with the second single that is always the best on quality from a given album of theirs. That and the beautiful totally not culturally appropriating video. St Lucia holds strong at #3 while 2-week #1 Grimes has to settle for dropping slightly to #4. Avantasia continues to hold strong and completes the top 5. The highest new entry is this week's unlikely collaboration, Primal Scream and Sky Ferreira, providing a very interesting rock tune to sate that part of my interests.

Eurovision adjacency claims its first #1 of the year with Afro-Swedish jam Kizunguzungu (meaning 'dizziness'), SaRaHa will be performing in Andra Chansen tonight and while its opponent song, I Will Wait by ISA is very lovely, I know which side I'm on. Children Of The Sun smashes in at #2, Against The Current drop to #3, and against all notions of credibility, Dolly Style continue to be a very appealing pop group to my sense and take a #4, 6 places better than Hello Hi did in 2015 (and I really should have charted Cherry Gum at some point too).
