January 10, 20169 yr That seems comically low for a y/e seller today, given the huge amount of million (and two million) sellers in the last couple of years. 2010 was an odd one - it really hasn't produced as many long-lasting hits as I thought it would at the time, they've all sort of remained in their own era and right now they're too old to be current but too recent to be retro/nostalgic. Maybe we'll have a massive Owl City/Iyaz revival in a few years time... Of course there's been a huge amount of million sellers in the last few years, but the only songs to sell 2 million in the 21st century are Happy and Uptown Funk - and in both songs' cases that's down to streaming. Only 7 songs in history have sold 2 million proper copies and the last was Candle in the Wind 1997.
