There are lots of white women who like hip-hop, fancy black men and talk like she does.

And lots of black women who don't.

 

I still kind of like Aisleyne, though her insipid 'I'm so blonde and blue eyed sweet and innocent and hate to do horrible things' whining about stuff like nominations one minute and going into faux ghetto biatch mode the next does get a bit irritating.

 

I agree. The reason I used to like her was because she wasn't as histrionic as the other female HMs.

I saw a sample of what is apparently the Machiavelian test, and if that's what it is then those Big Brother tests aren't much more acurate than those things you can get on Quizilla or BlogThings. Glyn probably has more academic intelligence because he's still in school.

 

The 'body image' test they did was awful too. It had 3 questions!!

 

I've been trying to justify Glyn's being the most bright because he's at school and probably takes exams every week too. But the fact that he is a sixth form student should prove he's not as dumb as people say.

She's said 'bredrin' about twice. Not enough to count as a Jamaican accent.

 

I noticed you named two places with a large Black population. Clever that but she clearly doesn't have either accent.

 

She has a regional English accent. She talks like a lot of white girls, Asian girls and black girls you hear on the tube. It's not wannabe black - it's just her accent has been influenced by people around her.

 

Sean Paul has a Jamaican accent. J.Lo has a Bronx accent. Aisleyne hardly speaks like their love-child.

I agree with this. It's an Anglocised version. I was worried you thought Aisleyne had a Nu Yoic or Jamaican accent but I know now that you know she obviously doesn't.

I'm not trying to argue with you - it's just you're not a poster who'll start shouting which is refreshing. I've noticed on various BB forums people get really annoyed by the way Aisleyne speaks.

 

Glyn and Imogen say 'like' constantly which comes from California. 'Beb/babe' also come to these shores from American pop music.

 

Lea said 'proper' and '$h!t-hot' which comes from America as well.

 

Lisa spoke in an incredibly exaggerated Salford accent. A lot of her dialogue comes from Liverpool. (I'm from Manchester so you'll have to believe me on this one - people in Manchester, especially in the newspapers, HATED the way she spoke. That is not our accent.)

 

Pete meows which comes from cats.

 

The way they speak is not criticised because its influences are not marked for race or come from cats.

 

But because Aisleyne's lexicon is also used by black people that's this horrendous thing.

 

I just think there's slightly racist or definitely divisive about that. Does it matter that white people speak like black people? Aren't we all the same underneath?

nikki was the most popular evictee to date.... i think it was rigged as i find it hard to find anyone who would admit to evicting her! but plenty like her!... 'we want nikki back' , i cant remember chants in the crowd wanting someone BACK in the house!

but ive not heard the other housemates complaining about it.... i listen to what they are telling me, they are there 24/7. maybe its inherant homophobia, either way i dont like sleazes regardless of their sexual orientation.
